He’s a RWB and certainly not a Left 10 , maybe as a central 10 he could have potential but RWB or impact sub is where he does his best.

Out of form.

Doesn't need to be dragged into something it isn't.

This is pretty much it, he's a young player, he's going to go through periods like this where he isn't as effective. The talent is there though, he works hard and is an excellent presser even when in poor form.

He is but then again Olise is the same age, and there's levels to that. He has to get consistency quickly otherwise he isn't going to make it

Wasted in the WB role and not at all suited to playing on the left.
He is no wing back.
We need Amad playing his football attacking the opposition box, not at the other end of the pitch.

Not a fair comparison between Olise at Bayern and Amad here really, there's lightyears difference between the league, and the two teams. All players will go through slumps in form, even now far from his best Amad is still contributing brilliantly in terms of pressing and work rate.

It cant be easy having to play a different position every game. Hes still capable of magic moments though and his front foot press is brilliant.

Or perhaps compare Amad to Olise’s old team mate Eze.

Players mature at different ages, and development is not linear.

I wouldn't bring in leagues in this, Olise has done bits in the PL too, the comparisons was more on age, 23 in the modern game should be enough to give somewhat consistent performances, I just don't see it. There is an argument he isn't playing the right position so it isn't entirely his fault but if he doesn't find consistency careers can change quickly

You just can't play Amad and Dorgu on the same side. You need to pair them with more mature players as their decision making is often poor. Dorgu with Cunha/Mount and Mbeumo with Amad works better.

Yeah, there is far more space and time in the Bundesliga

He holds on to the ball for far too long each time he gets the ball. Keep it moving. Frustrating player because of the talent he has.

Always few touches too many. He had chance few times today to play simple pass to player in front of goal but he delays that pass.

This is just shocking and one of the reasons why our strikers don’t score goals.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Takes way, way, way too many touches. It slows down our attacks and too often the chance is gone.

That Sesko one is a perfect example. Needed a first time ball along the ground to his striker. Instead he has to f**k around with the ball before lofting a high ball to Mbeumo to the back stick.

To be fair he did a good shift in the 2nd half as a de facto right back when he were trying to close out the game, but he needs to up his attacking game sharpish.

Regressed massively this season, has to be noted. His position is irrelevant - he has played in both forward AM spots and right WB and has been horrific because of his abysmal decision making.

What is this obsession to try scissor kicks when there is good balls in the box to attack in simple way? Is he brain dead playing for social media reels or something?

Amorim keeping him on the pitch all the time is annoying also. Him and Mount seem to be his favorite players and is trying to shoehorn them in the squad at any price.

Neither of those show up on the stats which is a good reminder for people to not overly focus on things like xG.
xG is the biggest pile of rubbish I’ve ever come across to be honest

This is the lingard defense all over again, doesn't matter how much you running around off the ball might add to the team, you are in the end a net negative if you don't actually do anything on the ball and he has been absolute gash in all games he has played this season.
It's not comparable because people didn't expect Lingard to do much with the ball. He didn't have anything more to his locker. He was playing at his maximum potential which was OK but not something you want when you want to win titles.

The frustrations with Diallo is that he's playing poorly when he's capable of doing better but I'm saying people are being overly critical at times because, at least today, everything else was good. Diallo though, unlike Lingard, can be the guy that presses well, works his ass off and is the creative outlet.

Feel like he was the only player last season people got off their seats for when he was on the ball - don’t get that sense with him this season but he’s still a quality player and we also have other creative outlets now which I think helps when he has the off game or two.

I like Diallo and he was the only shining light in a poor season last year. Feel like he's putting himself under pressure to be the same. Now players know what he's going to do and are ready for it.

He needs to add more passing to his game, you can't try take people on time and time again. Passing the ball into good areas gives a defender something else to think about.

Now he's taking his sweet time to do anything which isn't going to help is confidence.

Why is he intent on scoring a scissor kick every time the ball comes to him in the box?

Done it a few times now, whilst staying on his feet and hitting it on the volley looks the most logical thing. Seems to be more interested in having his 'Garnacho overhead moment' rather than improving the scorline for the team.

Funny how people can see performances differently. I've been pretty critical of him this season, but thought he was alright today, considering how bad he's been playing. Step in the right direction for me, did a lot for the team.

Something about him? I struggle to see what amad has shown that gives any higher hopes. I'm glad Garnacho went in the end btw, just wish we'd got more for him and wouldn't have to watch his smug face at the bridge

He’s not a world beater but he has that intensity and good feet. That’s what I mean something about him.

I rate him higher than Garnacho, more talented on the ball but both are not showing levels where they were meant to be.

It’s something he needs to stop for the good of the team . It rarely comes off , he’s better off bringing it down and shooting or setting someone up .

I hope Amorim blasted him after the game for his selfishness in not squaring to Sesko and for his stupid scissor kick. He also is not playing first time passes and is dwelling on the ball far too much.

You only have to look at Ndiaye’s assist today in the Liverpool-Everton game to see what a smart forward does in these situations.

Amad needs to be held accountable for his, what is becoming regular, brain dead decisions. If he feels like his place is not under threat, then I’m not sure how he learns from this.

Better in the 2nd half but was absolutely atrocious in the 1st half playing against 10 men.

I've always said he's a bit overrated on here, but he's had quite a poor start to the season. He's constantly making wrong decisions, trying first time passes that don't work out and mistiming shot attempts. Hopefully he works his way up to last season's level because he's a useful player to have in the squad.

He began to get overly cocky during preseason with that panenka penalty. Then he followed it up with two consecutive games filled with exaggerated goal attempts, clearly aimed at getting Instagram worthy moments. Also his theatrical habits creeping into his game, the play-acting could really be toned down. He needs to prove himself a lot more on the pitch before behaving like he's already made it.

Amad was dreadful against Chelsea and he was easily our worst player on the pitch. He's been out of form since the start of this season. I'm a big fan of him but he needs to be benched against Brentford.

Probably needs to stop trying diving volleys.

In our current formation he should be limited to rwb or if we think mazraoui is ok there then cover for the ten positions.

Extremely tough comments, thought provoking though

Too harsh. But yes, Amad needs to do a bit of growing up.

TBF Bruno done the exact same thing and passed to Sesko when Amad was the obvious pass to all but guarantee a goal
True. Some frustrating decision making in final third. Won the game but that has to improve if we're planning to win decent amount of points.

With Cunha and Mount being fit now, he won't be playing in that unfamiliar role. Hope his form will improve.

Had another massive chance to set up Sesko in the first half. Shouldn't have to stop and check before rolling a ball across the six yard box.

Yeah he needs to focus on the simple things. I think he's enjoyed the praise a bit too much and is now trying to live up to his baller reputation.

That said we had to endure Ronaldo persisting with his tricks and it obviously turned out well there so maybe we should allow Amad some grace. It's nice that a young player isn't always just playing safe football.

He has had a bad start to the season given the expectations he built for himself last season. It feels like he has regressed because last year he was our saviour in many moments. He still remains, in my opinion, our most technically gifted player and I think this probably is his worst run of games in his career. Hes young though, second full season in top level football, give the guy a break. Sometimes its the fans that create a pressure cauldron on the players, we expect the players to be robots and do the same thing all the time. I maintain what I said that it feels like he has regressed but form is temporary and class is permanent. Moments like this in a players career can make them stronger in the future.

Some comments are extremely harsh. He's quite been at his best but describing him as abysmal this season is ridiculous.

I must be in a minority that think he plays better at RWB than as a No.10 in this system. He gets far more space infront of him to run in to and I dont think it affects his output, his average position remains high and he still gets lots of opportunities in the final third. In the 10 he seems to get more crowded out of the game and hes linking up with a fullback instead of in tandem with Mbuemo, who I think he could strike up a terrifying partnership with.
