If we had an Amad equivalent as the LWB and a Casemiro that could run for 90 minutes, we would be a force to be reckoned with.

That weight of pass was what was so exciting about him when he first got here. It was a super pass. The type of quality we’ve lacked so hopefully it’s here to stay.

Honestly one of the best players in Europe now. The assist was sublime, harder than it looks, needed to be nigh on perfect.
The move and pass that set up Bruno when he hit the post was also sublime. Absolutely no excuse for him to not hit the target there.
Brings a calmness whenever he is on the ball, it is like time slows down. Not too many players are able to pull that off at Anfield..
Just a shame we don`t have another 2-3 players of his quality. Just way too alone.
That’s an insane take  I’ve doubled checked three times to make sure I’m in the right thread. You don’t even need to go back 10 pages to see that he didn’t have the best of starts to the season.

Definitely a much better performance yesterday and hopefully we see more of it, because without a decent wing back, the system is doomed to failure.

He has definitely had a difficult start to the season, but last night he showed his normal self again. Being one of the best players on the pitch, at Anfield. Playing against the reigning champions who have spent silly money in the summer to maintain their position at the top.

Maybe a bit of buzz from last nights game speaking but there is not a long list of right wingers out there that i would happily swap him for.

Amad is a good player, and we’ve all seen what he can do. But he needs to do it consistently. He’s had some bad form and also injuries which has meant he’s rarely been consistent. If he can kept up yesterday’s level for the rest of the season, then yes. Now, no.

Basically my opinion of him, needs to be a consistent performer, was good yesterday.

I think he showed consistency last season?
Last nights performance did not feel like an outlier, more like a standard Amad performance, at least imo.
If anything feels like an outlier it would be the iffy performances he has had at the start. If he can avoid injuries now there is no reason he could not continue this way.

Great his link up play with Mbeumo is getteng better. Also should have an easy assist for Bruno's horrible miss.

We need to use that side more, he's the player who can progress the ball fast and plays with his head up, and put the right pace on the ball most often. His defending is also decent, understand Amorim is trying to be more pragmatic, but unlike Dalot Amad doesnt seem to switch off which is a bigger danger then being outmuscled or lose a header.

He showed good form. I don’t think yesterday was an outlier - but he’s never played a full season for us. So yes, great potential, but not there yet.

Should have 2 assists when Bruno hit the post, was really effective yesterday let's hope it continues.

We're setting up differently in the last two games so he's looked more like his self. Mbeumo isn't trying to take up the same spaces as him anymore, he's moving inside and letting Amad go on one one.

I think we're talking more potential than real consistent quality just now. There are plenty of right wingers out there who do more than Amad at the moment and offer more goals and assists.

100% agreed, Always nice to have a clever player like Amad.

The way Ruben cleared the dross, I think he is a good reader and knows knows what needs to be done.

May be fixing all positions was a bit too much in the last summer but I am sure we will get 2 CM's along with a WB in Jan window or next Summer.

With one better player (GK), we have improved a lot so imagine if we get a couple of good CM's and a WB...Can't wait to be honest.

Now he just needs to add more goals to his game, his shooting has been horrific this season so far, but he definitely knows how to strike a ball

Amad is an incredibly transformative player in terms of how we play. Replacing him at RWB with Mazraoui or Dalot means we instantly lose that penetration that he offers. He has that very rare knack of successfully beating his man repeatedly on the dribble when he decides to go for it (young Martial was similar). If you have a player that can consistently beat his man like he does, it opens the game up for the other players. With Mbeumo, our right wing is well sorted with their double threat.

Plus, he is a surprisingly good defender too.

Losing both of them to AFCON will be a significant blow for us.

Crazy takes in here. Inconsistent? I mean all players have poor form at times but I’d go as far as to say Amad, Deligt and Mbuemo are our most consistent performers.

Amad is such a wonderful player, control, skill, intelligence and perfect weight of pass. He can also strike a ball. He’s a major threat and one of our best players.

One of Diego Leon or Licha should be trained for that position, otherwise spend for a readymade. But midfield must be strengthened before that.

Even if Licha can fully recover from his injuries and in peak form, there's no way he has the stamina or outright pace to keep going up and down the line a WB needs to.

And Leon's even rawer than Dorgu right now!

His quotes on the official site about his partnership with Mbeumo:

"At the beginning, because he was a new player, we were trying to understand each other," said Amad. "But now we find a solution: when he goes to right wing-back, I go as a no.10. When he plays as a no.10, I stay as a right wing-back.
"So I think now we have a very good relationship, even outside the pitch. This is very important: not only to have a good relationship in the pitch, but also to have a good relationship outside the pitch, to put some things [together].
"A player has to be ready to play every position. I'm just here to give my best every game.

"If Bryan plays no.10, I am so happy and, if I play no.10, I'm so happy," he added. "But, for me, the most important thing is helping the team.
"If we win, we are happy!
"It's nice. We've got good players and big talents. We knew already that Bryan, with Brentford, what he did with them was big things. So we tried to bring him here to do the same and he is doing the same. We are really happy for him because he's a humble guy, a really nice guy.
"I hope he can help us to score more goals, especially in the big games."

On the Liverpool game:
"It was a good day for everyone, because it was long time - nine years - that we didn't win away against them," he said of the success against Liverpool. "So this was very special for everyone.

"But we want to keep going like this. The big test for us is Saturday, against Brighton. We have to try to win this game to build the confidence and try to do a better season this season."

His quotes on the official site about his partnership with Mbeumo:

It was quite funny how many people thought it would be totally impossible for them to play together on the same side and it was only a matter of time before Amad got the hump and left

Amazing what happens when you have good players who aren't total weapons in your squad.

Watching the Liverpool game again you can see why the Amad and Mbeumo partnership will flourish.

In attack they are effectively both wingers who like to come inside. Both technical - both very dangerous. In the beginning of the season they were taking up the same spaces but now they're learning when one goes inside the other goes wide (although in fairness Amad still needs to work on his wide crosses)

In defense though is where I think Mbeumo's willingness to get back and defend diligently is helping Amad. He's not a great tackler -- but the fact he comes back when the likes of Rashford, Sancho, Garnacho in previous years would have stayed at the half way line is what really makes a difference.

Mbeumo is a genuine team player who won't let his partner get exposed on the flank and that really helps to build camaraderie and connection between players on the pitch.

Was at the Sunderland game and they were always close to each other in that game too. Both picking up pockets of space in or around each other. looking very promising.

There is no bigger compliment a team can give you than adjusting their tactical setup to counter your threat.

You could tell Liverpool was worried about Mbeumo and Amad and knew United would direct their attack against Kerkez. It pushed them back in the first half and opened up that space in the middle for us to pickup the second ball (which lead to the first goal)

It's nice to see some of Amorim's attacking ideas coming together now that he has players who fit his profile. I think once we get that left sided wing back position sorted, we'll have a more balanced wing attack and Cunha will start banging in the goals.

Man Utd 4:2 Brighton
His decision making is still far from perfect, but the difference we saw as soon as he came off compared to when he was playing is astounding. He's made that wing back position his own and I also have to credit him for improving when it comes to his defensive responsibilities

He is a pivotal player for us. The drop off in quality from him to the next options is worrisome

There is a drop off in quality but I think a bigger issue is he is the only profile of wingback in the squad. You simply can't expect Maz, Dorgu or Dalot to bring what he has.

Good performance, we didn't find him enough at times though.

This is why we absolutely have to try for Semenyo, we’ll see if it happens

He was everywhere, should have won a pen if Taylor wasn't a cnut. The thing about Amad is you can see he's so close to exploding and providing consistent output because he's so talented. Once he improves that 10-20% in the final third he'll be a monster.

I am happy how he and mbuemo are building a very good partnership on the right. At one point, amad asked mbeumo to switch to rwb for a counter and that didn’t disrupt anything. If course, it lasted for a short time, but it shows how they work together.

Amad is a constant threat, very good ball control and movement, calm on the ball, has ver good vision and is settling very well to that position. Perfect

The lad is so talented. I was concerned about him after the first few matches, I thought his body language looked worryingly noncholant.

He seems to have found another gear now. If he can be a bit more ruthless in front of goal I think he could quickly become one of those most statistically prolific attackers in the league. He beats players and gets into dangerous positions for fun.
