To me it still feels he doesnt get as much attention as he should. There is not that much hype in the press or amongst football fans

What a player this guy is. If we have 11 Amads on the pitch, we would win every damn game :). His commitment, attitude, tenacity, dribbling, ability on the ball and even his tracking back to defend are all top class. He defines what a United player should be. With a better fullback alongside him he will be unstoppable.
7/10?

You could tell how much we missed him the second he was back. Needs to up his goals and assists but he is a great footballer

Also Amad is a better Right winger than Mbuemo without a doubt but Mbuemo has more of an eye for goal.

Cunha Mbeumo Amad should be the main front 3 with Sesko coming in for one of them when required

It'll come, we still haven't been a settled club or had him in a settled role. Once he starts putting up consistent numbers (and he will, without a doubt), them he'll get it.

Good!

When has a United player getting press attention ever been positive for the club?

You’ve called them average, then called Martinez solid, De Ligt our best defender this season, Maz solid, Shaw steady and Heaven good. And Maguire our best defender.

I obviously completely disagree it’s an average bunch, De Ligt is a superb defender. Martinez top drawer when proper fit. Maguire solid and reliable.
Maz an excellent full back.
A fit Shaw at full back still a very good player even if he too often plays within himself.

Heaven and Yoro have absolutely heaps of potential.

Not a chance with that group that we buy a CB this summer. Martinez and De Ligt likely first choice, with Yoro and Heaven allowed to develop.
I said his positioning is solid, read again chap.

Just because Maguire is our best CB, doesn't mean much, if anything, it speaks volumes of the others we've brought in since.

You say when fit, but have disregarded were i said De Ligt, Martinez and Maguire have question marks around the availability to stay fit. You cannot build a solid defence around players who are injury prone.

Yes they have potential, but if they're not going to learn from mistakes, they'll never achieve that potential.

I think a manager who wants to play with a higher line will look at bringing a CB with pace and height, and it'll be at the detriment of Martinez.

We surely can't be hanging our hat on CB that's been out half of the season and Martinez who's had two major knee injuries? I'd be very surprised if we didn't get another CB in the summer.

It’ll likely depend how we/they finish the season.
If Martinez remains fit and in form, he along with Maguire and De Ligt (who has been out not half a season but 8 games so far), that’s a good set of experienced defenders for Yoro and Heaven to work with.

I’d prefer to Keep it that way, feck the media we should just let Amad quietly get on with his doing his business.

Can't play against the likes of Fulham at home without Sesko. But this is a better problem than we've had in the past

Just don’t rad the AFCON thread.

Having Mbuemo and Amad in the squad was “gross mismanagement” according to some.
It's going quadrennial anyways apparently, so we never have to discuss it again. Not having a guy available for 6 games every 4 years isn't that big of deal.

RW Amad gonna be a beast. Mbuemo has to go up top or to the bench period. I wouldn’t even mind CAM Amad.

I think Mbeumo goes CF, Amad RW, Cunha LW

Lammens
Dalot--De Ligt--Licha--Shaw
Ugarte/Mainoo -- Cas
Amad -- Bruno -- Cunha
Mbuemo

For the nth time, just play Mbeumo at CF (he was pinning VVD with his massive, succulent, rump and allowing us to pick up second balls for fun against Liverpool. We're currently having to manage/carry Sesko anyway as he finds his feet. Mbeumo CF, Amad RW, Cunha LW is a very mobile, interchangeable, and dangerous front line.

Ahem hem!

Glad to know it worked! Even if we didn't consider Dorgu in place of Cunha

Everytime I see him play I also remember that eth preferred forson over him

Anyway this formation will probably see the best of him and give him a chance to improve. He will still get that space out wide but closer to the goal. And being able to link up whilst knowing he has somebody behind him helping with the defensive duties

I was at that Fulham game and honestly he may be the worst player I have ever seen play for us.

Arsenal 2:3 Man Utd New
A pretty quiet day for him today. Good defensively though.

He's good, but in the first half Saka showed he's on another level. Was impossible to get off the ball. So strong.

I think he was great. Would want more creatively, but relieved pressure well with his composure on the and played like - dare I say, a RWB.

Not sure we he couldn't / we weren't able to get him on the ball more. Especially in the second half, there was definitely space for him to exploit. Also thought Saka showed himself a level above today. But I've no doubt Amad can get to that level over the next year! He was fantastic against City, and he just needs to be more consistent with those performances.

That’s nice.

What did Saka actually do?

Amad was quiet today but that’s fine. I think he’s a better footballer than Saka, who’s incredibly over rated.

Saka hasn’t scored in 13 matches.

Amad was okay. We didn’t play down the right much at all but he played defensively and won his duels well

Not really a fair comparison, we didn't have much of the ball and attacked more on the left in transitions with Dorgu. Also Saka was up against Shaw, who has been historically bad against him and today gave him more room that I would have liked.

Amad was actually pretty decent in the first half, coming inside to recycle the ball and offer as a outlet in tight spaces between the lines, things that he can do due to his touch, agility and all around game awareness. Second half, he saw way less of the ball and Arsenal were doubling/tripling on his side as soon as he got it around the halfway line. They did their homework, as has many teams.

Amad wasn't flashy today, but he had an important impact today, more of an impact than Saka.

Not his most lively game, but he put in a good defensive shift. The Saka comparisons are premature, but he's so valuable to us.

Similar to Mainoo, he did his job well today, there was no need for him to push the envelope and take risks, some games you just have to perform as expected.

No surprise if he gets a goal versus Fulham.

as much as I love him sticking it to them, I'd rather our players not engage with trolls on social media. Just keep on performing so we can talk about our own successes.

Yeah, I agree. Somehow though I don't mind Amad trolling them. It feels normal.
