Superb performance once again.

Tbh he should have had a couple of assists today, but yeah his main spot to improve is deciding when to be aggressive and back his own talent. He has benefitted from being the only natural ‘winger’ in the squad and I think that’s a huge part why he has played so much football. We’re probably terrified to rotate him or even sub him because nobody else can offer the same attributes as him. He can run with the ball at pace and take on fullbacks.
He really needs to start putting some more scores on the doors soon though if he wants to enter into different conversations. Because I don’t see him as less talented than Saka and Foden at all, however, players are largely rated according to a calculator these days and he’s not scoring very highly there.
He’s an excellent footballer but he’d be truly elite if he was more decisive in the final third. Unlike Mbeumo and Bruno who feel reliable in their final third efforts, Amad has a tendency to do well but not get the business done.
Still a fine footballer - both on and off the ball.
Yeah I really like how he protects possession.I think the opposite - with Cunha, Mbuemo and Bruno on the pitch you have 3 players in your front line that complete passes in the 70% completion rate. If Amad started doing the same, you wouldn't have a functional attack. He just picks his moments.
Him, Mainoo, Shaw, Martinez are the guys who help keep the ball ticking.
Bruno has averaged 83% this season in the PL.I think the opposite - with Cunha, Mbuemo and Bruno on the pitch you have 3 players in your front line that complete passes in the 70% completion rate. If Amad started doing the same, you wouldn't have a functional attack. He just picks his moments.

It’s crazy impressive to be probably the player most capable of creating a dangerous attacking moment ‘unassisted’ (I.e. by just plain taking on and beating his man), and also one of our best possession-keepers. Normally players are one or the other.Yeah I really like how he protects possession.
Im not getting rage baited hereI can see why ETH thought Antony was better than Amad
I agree, it feels like there is a small, final piece missing in hisHe is superb technically, excellent dribbler and has an incredible work rate. Rare combination.
Next step is for him to improve his assists and goals for us. They will come.
He has played most of the season at CM, to be fair. Would be interesting to see the numbers since Ruben got the sack.Bruno has averaged 83% this season in the PL.

Impressive numbers! I had a feeling they would be quite high. Especially impressive when you think about how productive he has been in that period.90%, 70, 80, 83, 85% pass completion since Amorim got sacked.

@Skills you have a good point (apart from exaggerating) in that Amad on the whole is more protective of the ball on the pitch in general. I don’t think it is in opposition to what @amolbhatia50k wrote, though, as that is particularily about the final third, and particularily about decisions.I think the opposite - with Cunha, Mbuemo and Bruno on the pitch you have 3 players in your front line that complete passes in the 70% completion rate.
