After a few half decent sub performances, that’s what he puts in on his return to the starting XI… not great.

He's both really good at so many parts of the game but his passing, crossing and shooting is a bit shit. Hopefully it improves because he's be world-class if he could figure that stuff out.

Still doing nothing to convince me that he’s good enough to be a starter for a title challenging team. Work rate is a great quality, but we’ll need more to take the next step as a team - we might already have that in Mbeumo.

He's not been good under Carrick so far, hopefully he can find some form soon. An inform Amad with Cunha and Bruno playing like they did today will be a joy to watch.

For all his short comings it’s still the first game we’ve controlled all way through since he was benched.

Some harsh takes in here in my opinion. I think he's our second most important attacker and we play better when he's part of the front 4

I thought he was good overall but his end product was woeful.
I think he made some bad decisions early doors and it stuck in his head. … which in turn led to him spending the entire game doing the same thing.

His passing game seems to have regressed, he hold on the the ball longer for no reason. Couple of times teammates in better position to open up villa but passed backwards. Works really hard so allot of defensive contribution. Said it previously he should be studying salah passing.

Poor today - seems he's not figured out how to switch gears from playing as a wing-back back to being and out-and-out winger. There's opportunities for him to take on his man and go for the one-on-ones but he's doing a lot more stopping and passing back to Yoro or Dalot, rather than being able to play little triangles or one-twos inside to get down the line.

He was running his socks off while fasted and helped us put consistent pressure on Villa for most of the game.

With Mbeumo on this form, Amad has to start. Sesko gets the goals but his general play needs to be worked on for a while yet, look at the layoff for potential 4-1 and another pass he fumbled when we countered late on.

Good at some parts (keeping the ball, supporting Dalot defensively), but looks barely fit to play. No switch of pace, poor passing etc.

Really disappointing second half of the season so far.

I don’t think he was great but I think Mbeumo gets let off by many on here for far worse performances. In short Amad is just more dangerous than Mbeumo overall.

Looking like he will be a good squad player to bring in, not sure he has the mentality to be a starter for a title challenging team. Can definitely be part of the squad.

Some very good stuff to build on but also some utter shite moments, especially the attempted trivela pass that went out of play and the right footed attempt he sent to mars from about 15 yards out. Was pretty sloppy throughout but he never stopped trying.

Better defensively than offensively, maybe we should just try him at rb.

That pass to them on the edge of our box was absolutely mental. God knows what he was thinking.

Mbeumo pops up with a goal or assist, but he does get criticised if you look at his thread for his crap performances.

Yeah, this is the big issue; he’s playing himself out of a starting position for the next season at the rate he’s going. He’s not looking like a starter and hasn’t for quite some time. He’s supposed to thrive as a forward without the wingback responsibilities.

Uncharacteristic poor performance today. Gave the ball away and that two chances he just wildly shot, especially the last one where passing to Sesko would have been a good choice.
Maybe it’s better to take him out of the starting lineup for a few games and let him come on against tired defenses to try and get him some confidence back.

Still too good a player to not come good ultimately.

Not sure how you can say this, Amad hasn’t looked overly dangerous since Amorim left. He was much more effective as WB with loads of room to run into.

Mbeumo has been much more dangerous throughout the season.

His bottom level is just higher than Mbeumo for me. Whilst hes not been great recently he is very good at certain elements of play including playing in tight spaces. Mbeumo has been an important goal threat this season but his overall play has for large periods been so so poor. Lax touch, no real creativity. Think his season had been a little glossed over purely based on early season goals and I think it’s abit mental he’s playing instead of Sesko.

I think Amad is a more natural right winger which gives us more balance since Cunha likes to come inside. When Mbeumo and Cunha are starting in the wings we lose width.

You could be saying the same for Amad though, his decision making, passing, shooting have all been very poor this season.

If Sesko plays up top, Mbeumo pushes Amad out the team on the right all day, we need regular goal scorers and Amad simply isn’t that currently.

Mbeumo is always likely to get a goal or at least make the goalkeeper work. Goals win games.

Not now Cunha is sticking wider, he’s been very dangerous driving at the FB and looks much better for it.

If we're honest, 2 goals and 2 assists in 25 for a United RW isn't going to cut it.
That’s the way I see it to, I like Amad and think he was great last season but if your not getting the numbers others are hard work will only keep you in the team for so long.

Let him work himself back into full form the rest of this season and hopefully he’ll be pushing for a starting spot next season.

He’s a decent dribbler and a good presser. He doesn’t do a lot outside of that. He doesn’t score enough, doesn’t create enough and sometimes his passing is diabolical. Good sub option. He’s not a starter at a top side for me.

For the type of player he is, he doesn’t score or create enough. Before this season, getting goals was also one of his strong points. He seriously needs to improve on both.

His ability in possession and defensive work is still really good and very important for how we play.

He has lost a little bit of arrogance about him after playing WB. He used to take on players and try to create something. Was a mix bag today and only his work rate kept him on for 90 minutes.

He's 23 years old and his top level is very high. He's gonna be fine. He can be a rotation option too.
