Correlation not causation. Blaming the formation/system is not correct in this case, in my view.
In short, I don't think Amad is that good - well, not good enough to be an automatic starter in a team with title winning aspirations, handy squad player though.
He had a purple patch last season and it hasn't really continued into this. (pre and post manager change) He works hard though and can beat a man, I will give him that.

It is a weird pair. Mbeumo is very much a runner and finisher, really a striker on the wing, doesn't have the 1 v 1 capabilities you would like while Amad can dribble but isn't finishing.

This is why we still need some wide players in the summer.
If Amad, and now Cunha, are off it, we have no one in the squad who can dribble their man and carry the ball, which you need if you're going to be competing for trophies.

He'll be very lucky to be a starter next season and can thank the need to improve other positions immediately that he may slip the net.

I like him but an attacking player with 2 goals all season for Utd just isn't even close to good enough.

If we didn’t have too many other pressing concerns, like midfield and full backs, I’d say we should’ve been looking to move him on this summer. He contributes very little, and is looking more and more like Antony with each passing game.
Luckily for him, we do have other pressing concerns, so he’ll get another season to prove his worth. Hope he remembers how to get past a man soon.

What age is Bowen? Wanted him years ago but all the Eredivisie experts told me Antony was leagues ahead.
He's better as a wingback, it plays to his strengths much more as he can join the attack late and has more players around him to interchange with. As a winger he gets too isolated.
Arsenal type of attacker, would fit right along with Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
He was obviously dissappointing with his shooting and end product as he has been all season. However, but for 1 good cross from Mbeumo I felt we were even worse down the right wing after he came off.

His intensity levels have gone down, and he’s not as direct. Niggling injury or just off form?
I agree but some people thought him playing WB was him being wasted rather than it just suiting his game more

Agreed. I've said it for ages, he is one of those that often passes the eye test because he moves nicely with the ball and can pass and move a bit, but just doesn't impact games regularly enough.
