Amad Diallo | 2026/27 Performances

Don’t think it really is. It’s the pose he made in a marketing shot and he’s just resharing it.
It’s a bit odd though - the implication seems to be that some people are taking too much. Who might he be referring to?

He'll delete all his posts in a few months time (which he has done for the past 2 seasons at least IIRC) and we'll have the same 'omg what's he hinting at?'.

Can't help but feel we need a player with a combination of Mbeumo and Amad's skills as a long term starter in the RW slot.

Mbeumo makes good runs, pretty good finisher, delivers a good dead ball (which we rarely use) but lacks 1 v 1 skills.

Amad presses superbly, has really good feet in tight areas, but has poor final ball, finishing and decision making.
I honestly think he'd have made a better attacking mid than a winger. Keep Mbuemo on the wing cause he isn't a striker at all...and let Amad play the middle. His only draw back there I see is his propensity to back pass. But he wins duels like a champ can dribble over opposition and if allowed has a soild shot. Honestly think him and Mainoo with Cunha left Mbuemo right Bruno mid with Sesko making the runs would flip the United is a wing heavy meta on it head.

However I don't think a lot of players are used in their best roles over the last decade.

Amad will probably return early though...last I could find they expected a 4-6 week recovery for ankle ligament damage...I would bet 4 weeks...5 if they flat out refuse him. He has never been one to be content to sit out...unlike what seems to be the norm for a lot of our players.

Further Detail
Feb 16:
'Amad is out for sure, I think, until the end of the season.'
Mar 07:
'I hope to have Amad [back] before [the end of the season], but we will see.'
Apr 25:
'Amad is near [to rejoining the group in training]. Matta is near, but the rest are at the same pace.'

From Carrick's presser:

"Amad won't be involved this week. He'll be out for a little bit longer."

What a little bit longer means in terms of timescales is anyones guess, but knowing our luck with injuries, probably means months.

Its pretty much everywhere since a couple hours ago

I love Amad and really hope we don't accept
Really.

Don’t see any way we’d accept that offer. I guess everyone will have their price to an extent but his will be much more than that I’d have thought.

I'm actually not against selling Amad.

If we're getting serious about getting back to the top big decisions have to be made. We won't do it just by selling the cheap, fringe players.

And ultimately he's 24, fairly injury prone and I don't see him making that big step up to world class. He's a couple of levels below that right now.

But £37million? Don't be silly Villa.

Dunno about that, I think he's one of our best players and is always looking to do damage

He's talented for sure, I like his attitude.

But it needs to happen for him this season in terms of output.

I'm not sure it will so am open to him going....if the right offer comes in. Should be minimum £50 million.

Only natural to use what others have done in the market as a benchmark for sales so if Savinho is 75m then Amad should be around that. Never gonna happen but imagine if we actually sold Amad for less than what Chelsea manged to flog Garnacho for......

feck is this rumour about Villa trying to sign him for less than what they're paying for Garnacho?

I'm happy to sell them a ton of players, but they can feck right off with any attempt to get Amad.

I agree about big decisions need to be made for the better of the team but we shouldn’t be selling Amad for anything less than £85m.

If we didn't have him and he was available for 85 i'd want us to get him. I suppose you need someone who's basically priceless, Mbappe 200m in an ideal world but i'd be sorry to lose him even for 85m. 37 is a bizarre offer to be honest.

Yeah it’s hardly going to turn a players head, pricing him lower than virtually every other signing this summer.

Prior to this window I'd have snapped your hand off for 85m for anyone in the team bar maybe Bruno but if 85m gets you Gakpo then yeah the money might as well be useless at that point.

How much was diomande again?
Honestly i think 85 is low, it'd be hard work to get someone plausibly as good as him, forget better regardless of the fee

What is the use of the money if it’s not going to help the team this season? Our RW would be Mbeumo who is not a proper winger and Lacey who is still learning the ropes?

He's not to be sold, if anyone's to be sold, I'd sell Mbuemo, and go buy a new winger preferably can play both sides to an extend. Sell Bruno next season or the one after. The composition of our attacks is a bit off if talking purely on their best position. Mbuemo is not a winger per se, Cunha is an AM that play best when carry ball in the middle or around the up front pockets. We bought them with this view for Amorim.

This match if Sesko bot starting, I would play Mbuemo up top, Cunha left, Bruno middle and Mount/Dalot/ Lacey RW. Consolidate a bit at the back with Dorgu as LB, Shaw CB if Martinez not starting. Everyone's especially the World Cup players are not match sharp or up to speed fitness wise.

£85 million for a wide player who scored 2 league goals last season and I think 4 assists?

I wouldn't be jumping at that.

I'm looking at Lacey and thinking he wouldn't be as good off the ball and maybe not as secure in possession but if we played him all season I reckon his output would be better than that.

Teams love mugging us off. If savinho and Gakpo are costing 85m then I’d want at least the same or 100m. I mean the one thing that lets Diallo down is his G/A numbers.

He's our best winger in my opinion. No way we should be selling him

Exactly, we are weak in depth why would we sell one of our most talented players on deadline for cheap?

Savinho at like 80 odd but we sell Amad for half? Don't take the piss.

Dracula can go feck himself if he thinks he can get Amad especially for less than 100million.

For some reason a lot of poster don’t seem to look at players end product and just go off what the ‘might’ produce or other aspects which maybe be good but nowhere near as important as actual end product.

I don't mind selling him, but only at the right price. Gordon is 80 m ffs who are we going to replace him with. We aren't getting anyone decent for less than 80 m.
