“And I say it sincerely, huh, because sometimes, seen from the outside, PSG can have a glamorous side that can irritate some. But here, we sweat, we train, we work!

“When I arrive at the training centre, the physios, podiatrist and physical trainer are already at work… Football, football, football… Leonardo is there every day.”

Is football the most important thing to you Ander for joining PSG?

In equally shocking revelations, he later went on to say that it "often rains in Manchester" and that "the UK voted to leave the E.U."

Considering he's going to win trophies, play for a top football team and some of the worlds best players. He's doing much better over there footballing wise than waiting here for a rebuild that will never happen under the current structure.

It's a little bit of throwing stones in glass houses from Ander given the MO of PSG's owners. Saying that he's right and we all know it.

Decent enough player on football pitch but absolutely brilliant off pitch certainly knows how to play his team's fanbase for sure.

The problem here is that he is talking about the atmosphere around the training center, so it's a bit weird to talk about business or even Woodward. That atmosphere is the responsibility of the training staff, not the board. Sometimes it feels that people just go for easy cliché. Business isn't conducted at the AON training complex, it's done in the London HQ.

It's just kicking a puppy while its already down this isn't it. Everyone with any sense knows we're in a bad spot.
It's good hear people who were on the inside speak honestly.

Commercial focus. The ludicrous signings, the pre-seasons that we've ruined, keeping Rooney for way too long.
Every big club has a commercial focus and pre seasons that managers are not happy with.

Chelsea went to play a friendly before the Europa final.

City, Liverpool also have these commercial pre season and they seem to be doing fine.

Maybe he feels there were some not focused on football, but other outside interests, as you say that it for the manager to deal with.

I can understand the context he's speaking in to be honest. Why would training not be focused on football?

I wonder if hes referring to the players and their commercial aspirations. JLingz for example.

Should have been given a new contract after the 16/17 season where he was our best player. Jones, Shaw and Young can get contract extensions on the back of just existing but Ander can’t after a whole season of being our best player :houllier:

That's what I am thinking, but the fact the club are quite happy for that as it is publicity for them. In fact I think our club is happy with any publicity good or bad as it keeps us in the public eye.

Well PSG players have pretty big commercial aspirations and they don't shy away from ads in France.

Great point
It's an awful point because PSG are desperate to win the best trophies whereas United are obsessed with creating profit. All the while forgetting that profit is directly associated with performance on the pitch.

For example City used to be about money but now they are the correct footballing option for a player in England. Would you rather move to a team who is excellently coached, great chance of trophies, great football hierarchy set up etc or move to our mess of a club?

Or in simpler terms would you have chosen United or Liverpool to join from 95 to 2013 as a player?

What Herrera's comments indicate is that we are a joke and players are starting to realize that. In fact the only players joining us are the ones who want money because that is all we can offer right now.

Newsflash we are the team in the league with the highest level of mecernaries who don't care about trophies.

Yep. A lot of our fans will hate this and will make reference to him joining PSG as an indicator of his 'ambition' in football but ambition is what it is really - better wage, guaranteed trophies domestically and potential of CL trophy. Plus actual CL football. He may have left for money but he has moved up in the world of modern football, no doubt about it.

Its disturbing too that the United players also know that football is secondary, really. Our youngtsers are fecked to be honest. Their 'bar' is set ridiculously low - why bother to be the best when you can contribute absolutely nothing like Lingard and earn 100k+ a week with a potential improved contract coming soon? Why bother?

What is the structure we need to rebuild?

Doubt there's less commercial focus at PSG or other clubs for that matter.

Laughable. You complain about commercials but then join PSG and say for footballing reasons.

Enjoy your money Ander. We still love you.

It was a question that was asked by the French magazine 'So Foot' to which he responded to. He went onto say that at PSG it's all about football and even Leonardo (who is the current DoF) is there everyday.

Where the grass is greener.
PSG have a bloody store in Tokyo, they're certainly not exactly against commercial ventures. But their on pitch is much better than ours, so you can't knock 'em.

You mean PSG who actually win trophies, have top players, and compete in the latter stages of the Champions League?
They win the farmers league every year with no competition, Yes they have some great players but they'll fail at last 16/quarter finals as they have the previous 7 attempts! bottlers even lost to us

What better team wanted him? By far PSG was his best footballing alternative. Although I’d go there for the money too.

I agree there's a casual nature to United club and staff wise since Fergie left. No authority at the club, they don't want to upset players and there's resistance to managers who try to make them work hard. We've had many overweight players as well and nearly all the signings have faded a few months after joining over the years.
