He's doing well tonight. Should've had two assists already.

Lots took the piss out of him when he left, league winner and bossing it in CL final 12 months later. Am guessing Ander has proved his point!

Yeah, really hoping he gets the win, he was such a great character and a good player for us. I'm strangely nostalgic seeing him play like this.

Always liked him and felt we wasted him for majority of his time here. Another player I feel is going a similar way is Bailly.

We spent £50m on Fred to replace Herrera. Some day someone should be forced to explain that.

Always liked Herrera. Thought he should have stayed and been made captain.

Would love to have seen a Bruno, Pogba, Herrera midfield

Hahaha yeah. Spent £50m on a like for like player, basically. Only thing is the guy we bought was worse than the guy we let go.

Still don’t want PSG to win.

Who didn’t expect him to win the league when he moved to PSG?

The deal for Fred was quite audacious, but on the balance of things - they’re about equal, really. I’d say Herrera is a little more astute defensively whilst Fred has more in the engine and carrying the ball. Both are equally capable of great passes but also extremely sporadic hospital passes.

Herrera's health record was not that great and he's missed a lot of games at psg as well. Fred is a lot more reliable from that perspective.

Were they not here at the same time?

It was time to move on and he has been his average self most of this season, having said that his highest level is still superb and I admire him.

He’s had a good 45 mins and you get the usual whinge bags coming in moaning about United. He’s an average footballer with immense work rate - that’s never changing.

He should have been signed way before then end of his contract. He probably would have signed for leas than 150k a week if we did. We fecked up

He always has been good in these type of games where the team sits back and is not asked to dominate. It’s his game when we had most of the ball that was severely lacking. Nothing has changed.

Have always liked him. Shame we didn't extend his contract on time.

Has looked pretty good this game and should have had 2 assists to his name already.

Nah, Herrera is a better overall player and certainly a miles better passer.

He is enjoying his life as a champion while his ex colleagues are in denial as beaten semi finalists and last day top 4 finish. I’d say he was laughing, given United did g value him enough for a timely contract.

Media reports at the time were that he was asking for £350k a week. Mitten said he was pretty sure Herrera himself didn't actually know the full amount his agent was asking for, just that he'd told him he would get him the best deal he could.

This. He wage demands were high but that came pretty late when PSG came with an offer. He would have easily signed a contract if it was offered bit earlier.

Obviously we should have kept Herrera.

That said, Fred is about his equal and also a good addition to the squad.

The problem was and is that the likes of Lingard, Pereira, Mata, and mcTominay should have been the ones to be binned before Herrera.

I am also surprised why people club Fred and McTominay together. Fred actually has clear spikes in his game and ranks very well on a lot of advanced stats. Pep is very bad with defenders but much better at recognizing midfield talent, and there is a reason City were also in for him.

So knee jerk.
Small wheel in a talented team in an odd year, and suddenly he was always superb?
