It's amazing how he somehow has almost all the characteristics that make a poor keeper.

He has weak reflexes and slow reaction time, along with poor handling and poor positional awareness. He lacks flexibility physically, with hard hands, stiff wrists, and low agility. His distribution is erratic, and he shows poor decision making and poor diving technique. He goes with the wrong hand a lot, and fails to read the flight of the ball properly many times. He’s vulnerable at his near post, and overall, he’s mentally fragile and error prone when rattled.

I initially thought he was a short keeper, but he looks tall enough when standing next to tall centre backs and other goalkeepers. He just never seems to extend fully to reach shots. He's like a factory-fitted, full-option poor keeper that comes with every flaw straight out the box.

If he remains our no.1 next season without us at least trying to replace him, I will know the management doesn't know what they are doing. This is something really easy for Amorim and Wilcox to spot and rectify.

Got a bad feeling there's going to be such demands put on players this pre season given how bad the last one was, we might see a spate of these muscle injuries.

Not a positive as he cannot be sold now. Sick bay is getting filled up even before the season starts. Instead of a new stadium, we should be looking at building another medical centre instead.

We weren’t selling him anyway as there are literally no suitors for him.

Injuries are rare for keepers, don’t make any assumptions based off of an unusual injury.

However, hopefully it gets extra weight to getting on a new no 1 - we all know if needs to get down, and the club knows. Just hope it now gets bumped up the priority list.

How are you related to Clayton Blackmore? I took a photo with him 2 years ago at the Victoria Warehouse. One of the players in united when I first started watching them play.

One of my favourite players growing up. Really exciting full back, I suppose the definition of a cult hero, with some moments of brilliance. Great goal against Montpellier in the cup winners cup.

Can you expand on this? I don’t see your logic. Are you saying that because results were bad on our last pre-season, under Ten Haag, we’re going to see Amorim taking foolhardy risks with player welfare causing a load of injuries?

During Amorim tenure and ETH's, forgetting issues with tactics, one constant is what I would perceive as a lack of sharpness/fitness across the team. Pre season is the only time this can ever really be addressed, hence why I think it's going to be a super intense pre season given there is going to be very little patience from Ineos moving forwards I would assume. I feel we are very much in do or die territory for Amorim.
But this thought is not really on Amorim, it's more about our medical/conditioning team - a group which I think it's fair to say has been questioned a lot and has not got the greatest track record, that's where my worry stems from; are they good enough to address the fitness issue (something I think is obvious and visible in watching our games) whilst not overloading players to the point we start getting lots of muscle injuries again?

It's not really about Onana, he just got me thinking as it was a muscle injury.

Actually I think I just misunderstood your post. When you say “given how bad the last one was” you’re talking about the last season. I thought you were alluding to the last preseason.

Ah, yes, talking about last season's disastrous league campaign.
