Probably would have kept their goal out as well if not for the deflection. He's having a fantastic season.
That save was outstanding. Onana is one of the few positives so far this season.
I assumed his unusual diving techniques from last season (and with Salah's goal this season) were always going to be a feature of his shot stopping, but thankfully not. Now he looks like a solid PL keeper who doesn't make a hash of things.
Probably best piece of business we've done in a while. Easily our best player of the season so far.

I have to admit, I have never rated him, but he's been very impressive this season and he's getting me onside. He saved us from defeat today and not for the first or 2nd time this season. Keep up the good work Onana

Another superb outing from him. Seems to have settled nicely after a bit of mare last season. Really unlucky not to have a clean sheet today too. Not from his own lack of effort. Hope he can keep it up.

One of the rare pleasant surprises this season. Didn't think he would ever be good enough, but fair play to him for turning it around.
Came in to post about this. Two good things 1) Amorim recognising easy and obvious (to us fans) changes and 2) players like Onana responding to it.

Honestly our current POTY. He's ahead of Maz, Amad and Bruno in my opinion.
But for Onana we leave Ipswich losing 3-1. Man mountain. He's really doing his best to keep us alive this season. The improvement from last season has been stunning.

He's been incredible this season so far.
Always backed him since he joined. His goals prevented record was outstanding last season too, despite the early period of bloopers.
Now Alisson is often crocked, there's not a keeper in the league I would swap him for.

Great this season and a match saver yesterday. I've been one of his biggest critics since he arrived but it's looking like, yet again, I was badly wrong! Great to see - he's a real character too.
Onana and Mazraoui have been our most consistent players this thus far season.

Interesting now to see some of the negative opinions (my own included) from caf members beginning av last season. He's gone from being the worst goalie we've ever had to at least top 4 and is certainly now up there as one of thee best current modern gk's in the world.

I honestly don't think this time last year he makes either of those saves by the way - for the first he probably stays rooted to his line and for the second he'd try go with his hands. His improvement really has been excellent and fair play to him for that.
