André Onana | Loaned to Trabzonspor

You mean the Onana who was first choice for Ajax when they reached the semis of the CL? Or CL final with Inter. Why is it a good benchmark for him but not Onana?

Genuinely, such a nonsense comment about your third string keeper. Kelleher was massively overrated as well, he was a large reason we beat you in the FA cup with his absolute lettuce wrists.

There's no problem criticising Onana for his absolute horror shows, but let's not pretend you didn't go and pay £30m for a keeper as a back up to Alisson, but had two good keepers on your books. Your club knows neither them are good enough.
Kelleher wanted to leave. Neither him nor jaros are good enough to take over from Alisson as longterm first choice, hence we bought his intended successor. Kelleher is nonetheless probably our best keeper since Grobbelaar not named Alisson or Reina.

There was a time when Onana's star was so high someone paid 44m for him even. Nonetheless he's an awful keeper today and worse than Jaros.

This season will be a write-off if we keep him as our #1 keeper.

Hard to see why any person with a brain cell would think that it is okay to keep him as our #1 keeper. He literally brings NOTHING to our team (no command of box and cross claiming, no sweeping, no reflex saves, no penalty saving, no leadership ability, poor long passes and throws; just good first touch and short passing which is useless as he takes ages to release the ball to the closest CB who will be under pressure and boot the ball to the opponents) and concedes 15-20 silly goal every season.

Surely you have better things to do than argue that your unproven youth keeper is better than Onana. I mean we all know Onana ain’t it but that seems a bit of an excessive and pointless claim. I imagine Vitek is better than both of them but it’s silly to argue that until he’s proved it at the proper level.

The main point really is that improving on Onana is easily achieved and honestly baffling that it doesn't seem to be on the agenda.

That I can agree with but I’m still hoping it happens once Altay leaves as rumored.

Agreed, but I do think it's on the agenda - probably just not as high as rebuilding the attack and signing a midfielder. I still think, at worst, we bring in a better 2nd choice GK who can compete/displace him and probably target siging a new GK next season, finances dependent.

Kelleher is miles better than Onana. Nothing excessive by his claim. Liverpool have sold a better GK and still have 2 better GKs than our first choice in the moment. If that doesn't show the mess we are in the minute, nothing will.

The claim was that they had 3 keepers better than Onana - after Kelleher was sold.

Kelleher, like Henderson, is a perfectly good, mid table keeper. Not good enough for the very top, but good enough for the top division.

That’s miles better than ol’ Andy Clown Shoes. I reckon he’d have got in the Ipswich team last season, so that’s 18 teams with a better keeper than us.

Sorry to tell you all but Onana will be the number 1 again this season.

Having the same stupid goalkeeper for another season, we might as well forget about this season, again. How can the manager not see that we have one of the dumbest if not THE dumbest goalkeeper in the league...

We're keeping him as our number one aren't we? I see Rasmus is back too

Can't wait for us enduring another season of the striker that cant score goals and the GK that cant save them. What a great combination.

Why cant they see hes an absolute liability

Hard to decide which is the more important one to get rid of.

A proper striker allows us to keep more control of the ball and to score more goals so some howlers won't be punished as harshly so it's probably more important to replace Hojlund.

Nothing personal here, I don't know what your views are but my problem with this place is that people simultaneously complain about this but also want Cunha and Mbeumo. I don't understand how there's no cognitive dissonance. The budget is 125M + sales. The sales are always a bit sketch. So 125M on Cunha and Mbeumo means our summer business is done.

So either be up in arms about how we're spending our money and in what order or accept that Cunha and Mbeumo are more important than upgrades in other positions.

How does a keeper get a hamstring injury? What the feck was he doing?

Strange to see people celebrating an injury

Anyways now money will be wasted on a GK rather than a midfielder which is a huge error.

Goodbye to my dreams of selling this guy.

Useless even when he's not playing. Insane we're not linked to every keeper out there

On the plus side it might force us to sign a challenger.
