What astounds me is we didn't attempt to sign a keeper early in the window and told Onana's agent to find him a new club after yet another disasterclass season from him.
Why wait until another inevitable stinker from him to make a decision at the 11th hour, and now it looks like we'll be stuck with him kicking up a fuss until January at the earliest. Really hope some Saudi club bails us out within the next week, even if its a loan deal.

Sounds like typical Bailey bullshit. He mentions Al-Shabab because it's one of the rich clubs with a foreign roster spot, and he says all the other rich clubs are interested (of course) but they'd need to get rid of a foreign player to recruit Onana, as most of them already have too many foreign players.
Al-Shabab signed a Ukrainian GK in January, so unless they can move him on they aren't going to waste a second foreign roster spot on another one!
He was absolutely shite in his final couple of seasons. No idea why you are pretending he was good in that period. I love Dave but his time was done.

Yea they just bought the GK from Kyiv. The rich Saudi teams already have too many foreign players they can't register their new recruits without having to unregister older ones. Al-Hilal paid off the last year of Mitrović's contract at €25M just so they could register Núñez.
Players like Marcos Leonardo, Renan Lodi or Otávio have not been registered by their teams and won't play this season. If I was Man Utd I'd keep an eye on Marcos Leonardo and Otávio's situations, they could be bargains in January or even before (I wouldnt be surprised if they got bought out).

He had 29 goals in 43 for Al-Hilal last season and he looked very good at the Club World Cup where he scored 4 in 5. They have 12 foreign players with a 10 limit so guys like Leonardo and Lodi can't be registered and Mitrović had to be bought out, if not for the limit he'd certainly be on the list and most likely starting. I doubt Leonardo or Lodi will accept to sit out the season and hope for a roster spot to open next summer.

Kind of my point though.... This Onana we are seeing is apparently how he has been, maybe worse, but still he's always had these mistakes in him. How those in charge when he came to us didn't see this, is astounding.
