Bayindir had a poor rep in Turkey even before his move to United. Maybe the think Onana can actually perform at a lower level whilst Bayindir evidently can't.
Amazing news, if he goes for it. Just shows the calamity that we were before Ineos took over. Other teams selling players for 40 million left and right, we have to kidnap players and drop them outside other grounds to get them to go on loan.
Once we clear these out we should be able to sell players for decent fees imo
think there's multiple layers to this. Onana is the high profile goalie who was signed for a large fee, axing him comes with more headlines. Bayindir was always the backup, you can easily bench him for Lammens when you feel he's ready. Might also hope that Onana kicks on while on loan so you can actually sell him next summer.
Onana having the audacity to ask for a pay rise might also factor into this. If I'm United, I'm making an example out of him for that as well. Either way, good to see that the club is ruthless for a change.
I agree with that. I think that's a big focus for Ineos and obviously a big reason for getting the wage structure under control.

I really don’t rate Onana whatsoever but he is a much better keeper than Bayindir, at least when they are both confident. Onana has managed a handful of decent games whereas every time I’ve watched Bayindir he makes a few costly mistakes. They had to get rid of one of them, so I guess it makes sense for it to be the guy on higher wages.

Even if Onana is theoretically better than Bayindir, he isn't currently playing like it. And after his dismal performance against Grimsby, I don't think there was much chance of him jumping ahead of Bayindir any time soon.

The question is, is there even any wage coverage? If we even got them to cover all his wages with no extra fee it'd be a great deal, but I'm guessing we'll struggle to get more than half coverage.
