André Onana | Loaned to Trabzonspor

No there’s not.

They’ve really reigned in spending, and aren’t going to buy a meme. Previously they would buy anyone available, not now.

They are limited to the number of overseas players that can have. Also look up how much they spend on goalkeepers.

I was being enthusiastic with hope that we can sell Onana for a fee...

Perhaps he could try being a bit more realistic by saying that he recognizes it's going to be a tough fight for his place seeing as Lammens is doing so well.
You realise that the whole article is just speculation with absolutely zero quotes from either the club, players not club sources right???

I’d love to have that enthusiasm!

Goalkeepers are really easy to buy. He’s proved that he’s no where near a top keeper and there are hundreds is keepers that are better than him, very few will be on such high wages.

I genuinely can’t see why any club would be interested in him.

Whatever club Erik Ten Hag next becomes manager of...

What do you guys expect him to say? He probably knows his fight for a spot will be over as soon as he speaks to the then manager, but he can hardly say he's not interested in representing his employer anymore...

How about nothing? Or "no comment"

He’ll end up out on another loan, particularly if we qualify for CL. Wages will be too high for most clubs in Europe and he seems money hungry based on the reports that he requested a wage rise after we dropped out of the CL, not wishing his own contribution to that ‘achievement’.

Good for him, he found his level. Also, EXTREMELY shit penalties.

Definitely bring him back, he's probably earned that pay rise too

Getting him out of the club is more important than recouping anything. If a club wants him we shouldn't hesitate.

I agree, I hate watching a competent goalkeeper this year.

Life was more thrilling when id have heart rate of about 130bpm rising to about 170 when shots or corners came at him.

I miss that fear factor he used to bring!!

I think we can still get a fee for him on the open market. Yes he definitely wasn't good enough here but I think once he's confident he can get back to his inter form and he can be a good player for a club wanting to actually play out from the back. I wouldn't be surprised if some club covers that 18 million or whatever we currently need to break even. It'll be great to be rid of all these big earners who don't actually play games for us

To give our U12 team a confidence boost when they are going through shooting drills?
Onana had to be the reason why all our attackers overestimated their shooting ability last season, while AWB on the other hand, was the reason why all our attackers were left petrified of taking opposition defenders on before he left!!

Yes, didn’t see it from that angle!

Paying 50m for this clown is up there with Sancho and Antony for me
Sancho, and to a lesser extent, Antony had some highlight reels to make people hopeful. Onana's highlight reel was tragic even before he came. Looked so heavy and slow, and always seemed to palm the ball straight into the danger zone.

You might argue that it was in fact even more detrimental to the team. He really has been that poor, and when a goalie starts making that many mistakes and just looks that insecure, whilst being strangely arrogant, it ruffles the entire backline.

Agree.

Especially when you consider how much money he cost us by being mainly responsible for an early Champions League exit and not qualifying the season after.

Pound for pound he's a real contender for our worst ever signing.

He was good at passing, and people for a year or two (both at United and here) genuinely thought that keeper's main purpose is to pass, and we were a passing keeper away from playing EtH's brand of great football. Both nonsense opinions, but shit happens, I guess.
