It's not. Because of amortization if we were to sell him now for 0, we would have to book a loss of 40% (2 / 5 years of contract left) of his transfer, which is 17.5m. As it is we will only have a loss of 20%. So basically we are delaying that cost for year. Maybe next year, we will be able to offload him permanently for a minimal fee, so that he doesn't cause a loss on the books.
He's been on loan for a year and unwanted at united. If anybody wanted him, they'd have contacted us already. Now, it's not impossible that an interest might arise. But Trabzonspor might not want him then and presumably he wants to go there too again. I don't know if he has taken a wage cut, but helping players might make them more malleable to not demand being bought off when leaving.
