Andrey Santos

Been impressed by him whenever I've seen him. Would prefer him to Scott if I'm being honest, and I say this is someone who isn't totally opposed to singing Scott either, but I think Santos has a much higher ceiling.
 
No thanks. If he's leaving to get more game time meaning he can't get into this avarage Chelsea side, should he get into Uniteds starting 11?
 
He's great, would be a fantastic profile for our midfield. I wanted him when Amorim was here.
 
I wouldn't be against this. Andrey Santos has a lot of talent. Big potential there imo and his positional awareness in particular really stands out for his age

They don't exactly have an average starting midfield pairing.

Isnt even in the Brazil squad for the WC, when the likes of Fabinho, Ederson and Danilo are in there.
 
Wasnt particularly good last season but was better than Lavia and hes only 22, with one season scoring 10 goals and 3 assists in France the season before. Wouldnt be completely against it but £50 million is too much
 
I've been waiting so long to hear us linked to a profile of midfielder that our team is crying for.
I haven't seen him play, I am guessing opinions on him are contentious. But let's hope we hear more rumours of getting linked to pure No. 6 players.

That's more on Ancelotti preferring those guys rather than a mark against Santos. João Pedro isn't in the squad either and he's class. Can't judge a player based on how a certain manager rates them. We have a very clear recent examples with Mainoo and Amorim or Amd and ETH.
 
Feels underwhelming and risky for a player who hasn't been able to establish himself at Chelsea.

Considering we're usually targetting PL proven these days, I wouldn't call Santos it. £50m is a big fee for a player with little to justify it.

At Strasbourg he was more of a box to box #8 who actually got a decent number of goals from midfield. Whereas when he came back here to Chelsea he has been a deep sitting #6 who helps screen the defense and link play from back to front.

He’s very neat and tidy on the ball and his positioning is very good. Always seems to pop up in the right place at the right time to put out fires.

For whatever strange reason Maresca just didn’t fancy him and barely played him. Then when Rosenior came in he was used more and looked really solid. Tbh, i would’t sell him. I can understand from his POV why he might want to go if we sign a new #6 with only 1 game a week, though.
 
I rate this lad above Mateus Fernandes and if we manage to get him it will soon become obvious..
 
£50m is probably too much, but the market for a central midfielder is so warped, that it might be the best price we can get for a 22 year old with some Premier League experience.

Also, I wouldn't hold his lack of games at Chelsea against him. They're a basket case of a club that have hoovered up so many good players that it's caused a logjam for minutes.
 
Would 50m be a lot relative to Tonali at £92.5 —> £100?
 
We have Ederson. Don’t see the need in him. Reminded me of a baby Fred.
 
I don't hate this at all.

For those on here crying out for the likes of Camara and Sangare from Ligue 1 - this guy was comfortably the best young CM in Ligue 1 last season, with better stats overall at 20 than Camara in the last 2 seasons, or Sangare in this season.

He hasn't had too many minutes in the PL, but those he's had would suggest his performance level is similar to the same aged Mateus Fernandes, if not marginally ahead. His progressive passing looks good, though a bit behind Mateus for longer range passes, while his defensive output looks a bit stronger. His extra bit of defensive physicality could mean he's ultimately a better partner and cover for Mainoo than Mateus.

Erm, we’d jump at the chance for either of their starting midfielders.
