That's that then.

Utter nonsense. He started the season as first choice and got dropped because he was out of form, as it should be and as it has been with Rooney and Rashford. Not sure what planet you're living on if you think Rooney and Rashford have kept their place this season. Martial has been treated the same as everyone else.
This.

Martial showed more against Sunderland than he has for awhile. That might suggest Mou's way of managing Tony is actually motivating him.

He needs a new agent.
Indeed, agents should know this shit doesn't fly with Mourinho. Get him over to our in-house agents Raiola or Mendes.

Raiola for example held his mouth shut during Mkhi's spell out of the team, and he seldom shuts up.

Start himself and Mkhitaryan next few games. Give him a real run and find form.
Mourinho French radio station SFR: “We have so many good players in similar positions — Martial, (Juan) Mata, (Henrik) Mkhitaryan, (Wayne) Rooney.

“I cannot give him four, five, six, seven matches in a row when I have other people on the sidelines waiting for a chance.

“I try to give him chances. In fact, I gave him good chances because I played him against Tottenham and Arsenal, in some big matches.”

"Shocking" to swap number 9 for his national team number 11... shocking I tell you.

Paid 150k+ /week and his number changed to a proper United legend first eleven number, disgusting.

And then, expecting top performances from him or order to keep his place in the team, something even demanded from the club captain.. how fecking dare Mourinho treat these millionaires so disgustingly?

Fwiw he's started the exact same amount of games as Rashford and just 3 less than the club captain.
The key words in my post regarding his shirt number change were 'without consulting him'.

What? Rooney and Rashford have both been reduced to a squad role and Martial has had many chances, he just hasn't been very good.

Martial was out of the 18-man squad against Burnley, West Ham and Crystal Palace even when he was fully fit. Rashford and Rooney have never been out of the squad when they were fit. Step yourself in Martial's shoes and he must be thinking if two strikers are preferred in front of him on the left wing position one of whom is still very raw and has made no real impact from that position and the other whose best days are behind him and has very rarely played on the wing in recent years, then maybe the manager doesn't rate him even if Martial was possibly the best left sided winger in the league last season behind Sanchez.

I am not a Martial 'fan boy' or anything and I completely back Jose but just feel we will massively regret if we let him leave.

We're not going to let him leave.

He should be channelling any annoyance at not being first choice into his performances. Jose has shown that he will reward that with Micky.

Martial is happy at United. After all we have put alot of faith in him with the transfer fee and elevated his status in world football.

He's got a good base here with Pogba and possibly Griezmann on his way. Can't see him wanting to move anywhere else to be honest.

He did well in the last game, not worried about him.

I'm reading a lot of comment about Martial playing well when he came on against Sunderland, I missed the game and can't find any highlights on YouTube of his performance, did he look more like the Martial we know and love?

His movement off the ball was better and when he had the ball his decision making was quicker instead of dawdling on it. Those have been the two issues I believe that have hindered him more than anything in moving from LVG's approach and system to Mourinho's.

So any sign of him working hard & getting back to form or he's gonna brab his way out through his agent? I hate it when players are displaying totally cr@p form on the pitch and making pathetic statements/claims through their agent in the media.

He has been working hard the last few games. He also got injured. He has earned a starting run if you ask me. Rashford in not ready and can only play as striker if you ask me.

Martial has the ability to be one of the best attackers in the world. His ceiling is that high. Zero chance he leaves. Jose isn't stupid.

I think he will start vs Middlesborough. He looked good when he came on vs Sunderland. Rooney out and we may rest Carrick which will leave space for an extra attacker in a 4231. Surely he gets a start.

Silly. Martial should be a starter not in the "can rotate with average players" category.

Always found the switching numbers a bit odd, considering Zlatan has never been a definitive number, like Ronaldo or Messi. He's had 10, 9, 11, 8. All sorts. Giving him the number 11 certainly wouldnt have been less marketable.

I love Martial but if he wants to jump ship all because he's been asked to work his way back into the line-up, he can feck off, players with that sort of a mentality never make it anyway.

No-one has a divine right to play, Martial is no exception.
Dude calm down. You lots ought to learn ignoring papers and agents talks in order to avoid embarrassing yourselves with over reactive and knee jerk posts like yours.

I don't think he'll be a United player in just over 13 months time. I think he'll leave in one of the next 3 transfer windows.

He seems to be making too much noise and creating too much drama. The sort of character Mourinho tends to not like.
Now this is just pathetic.

Pathetic is a bit much
You mean harping on with strong conviction about how a player has been making noises and trouble despite it being absolutely not true.

Using media and agents noises whom you should well know are speculative and very sensational in everything they do to back up your quite frankly ridiculous statement about the kid causing trouble.

You haven't heard Martial himself cause trouble, neither heard his manager nor teammates as much as even hint any sort of bad attitude and behavioral issues to cause problems for everyone.

You just randomly decided that he's making trouble and won't be tolerated for long by his manager and be gone in the next 13 months.

So yeah I find that pathetic.

The 'he's rich so he's not allowed to be upset' argument is such tired bullshit.

It is bullshit but his other argument about him being expected to put in top performances, and fight for his place in the team isn't, I think we have had too many players coasting for a few years and we need fighters and winners, he needs to have the right mentality not just the right ability.

Still he looked hungry when he came on against Sunderland and I wouldn't be surprised if he has earned himself a start against middlesborough. If so lets hope he grabs it this time.

I said "i don't think" and "he seems to be" - how is that with strong conviction?

You really need to calm down

From the front three attacking players only Mkhitaryan has started and been subbed on fewer games than Martial and that's only due to Mkhitaryan being injured. Though Rashford has started same amount as him, Rashford has been trusted more as a sub option - 10 appearances compared to Martial's four, and he's also lasted 90 minutes more. Whichever way you coat it he's played around 200 minutes less than Rashford and around 450 fewer than Rooney which is quite a lot.

Rashford hasn't, but Martial wasn't injured for that long. Three games missed due to injury.
Ok so 270 minutes missed due to injury and he's played 200 minutes less than Rashford in total who hasn't been injured this season?

Does it make sense that Rashford and/or Rooney benefited from those extra minutes due to Martial's injury considering he's been playing them in the same position this season?

Ah, that's where we disagree. If I'm getting paid £150,000 a week by a company, I'd accept that the company are well within their rights to change my dress code.

I can't feel sympathetic is all.
You aren't being paid £150,000 a week though so you have no idea. You're also not having your life broadcast in front of billions of people. You can't possibly imagine what it's like.

Fact is, he's human and he has pride. A man's pride can be put way above many other things on the list of stuff he doesn't want to lose and we're stubborn to a fault over it.

He'd just had a wonderful debut season, the fans loved him and he was looking forward to carrying on this season and then we sign a new striker and take his squad number from him too. Pride gone.

Plus I don't know if you've ever had a relationship but I'm pretty sure if you're going through a messy break up with the mother of your child then your mind is absolutely going to be anywhere but the football pitch, especially given he's 21 years old.

There are billionaires out there with mental health issues like depression. Money makes feck all difference to your brain if you have serious issues going on in your life and it certainly doesn't repair any damage done, it's not magic.

Just because he earns X amount of pounds a week doesn't make him a different species to you or I.

You don't have the worst life in the world so by your logic you're only allowed to absolutely ecstatic 24/7. Don't for a second even think about being anything less than that you ungrateful shit or I'm telling.

1. Pogba
2. DDG
3. Martial

These players should be considered untouchable and the team's core for 6-10yrs. His agent and the player should know this.
