Such a breath of fresh air to have a mobile #9 that can do a bit of everything. He can hold the ball, pass it, shot, create and score.
He has the ability to link up with Pogba really well sometimes, hope to see a lot more of it. Wasn't really a great game for him, but he was in the right place to score his goal and that flick for Pogba to run onto for James' goal was majestic
Really pleased with Martial's movement for his goal. We know he's great playing ball to feet, however with his goal we saw a willingness to move without the ball and sniff out space in the box. That's what he has to add to his game, developing into a fox in the box, saw some good signs today.
Did pretty well. Glad he got a goal.
Agreed, much more pleasant to watch than Lukaku up top.
Still need a bit more to get back to his 2015-2016 form but with the license to lead the line like today, i’m confident Martial will fulfill what we all hope for him.
As for today match, passing was sloppy at times, shooting definitely needs work but his hold up play was excellent. A proper modern number 9.

You should check the Martial #9 thread where apparently his passing is awful being perpetrated around.
Haven't seen him buzzing around all over this much. Good start to the season for him.

Scored what I describe as a proper strikers goal today, which i'm very pleased about. Needs to get into those positions a lot more.
Really good game by him today.
He ran today more than all this previous 4 years combined.
