He has not played well this season yet. None of our forwards played well. At least he defended against Spurs while he was on the pitch but you do not want to see your CF in your own box defending during normal play.

Hopefully seeing Cavani in training will let him know his place isn't guaranteed, needs to start scoring again, he's had a slower start than most.

If Cavani hits the ground running. There'll be no starting 11 spot for Martial when his suspension's up.
Shocking start to the season from him.

The guy just won a penalty and created his only chance. Any reason why Cavani should replace him?

Had a fine first half, won the penalty, had a great run leading to a chance and generally did little wrong whenever he got the ball. Odd timing.

What is he doing? Red card missing 3 (basically 4 games) and now an OG?

He actually looked so good in both games as well

In a 352 he needs to play behind Rashford to play balls in to Rashford.

The 352 strikers split partnership can only be played with Greenwood because we need a left footed striker taking shots from one side and right footed shots from the other.

All the extra unnecessary passing was due to the angles and the weak foots.

His overall play was good, holding the ball up well and linking, but him and Rashford both need to sort out their shooting (at the right end)

Only player I think was subpar. He was still good but you could tell he had another level to go up.

I think when they are a partnership it needs to be a 3511 with Rashford being our main goalscorer and Martial playing behind him to be creative, dribble at the defence, pass or shoot.

Them playing side by side isnt going to work compared to what Greenwood can bring as a RS with his left foot.

Pretty poor, we wasted some good chances and he wasn't the only one to blame.

He's fine. Just needs a goal and he'll start banging them in again

Interesting the over the top criticism of him. Wonder what the same lads thought of Mbappe?

People are always gonna criticize him if he doesn’t score or light the world up. He did well, nothing outstanding but he caused trouble with the limited chances he got. Compare that to the performance of an Mbappé and he was better.

He actually played alright after the own goal. The own goal was criminal though. You can’t shut your eyes when heading the ball. He’s a bit of a fanny.

Poor game from him other than the turn for the penalty. He's quite a bit off in terms of sharpness but at least there is competition now with Cavani.

The own goal was a funny moment to be honest. I actually laughed when it happened. It seems his instinct worked on its own and he put it on the goal subconsciously or something.

Red Card for Casemiro!
He held the ball up well and looked dangerous when we were in their box. But had some terrible decisions today and seemed to lose concentration in key moments. That own goal was inexcusable. A mixed 6.5/10 performance, I'd say.

I thought he was alright. Dribbled himself out of so many positions and looked ok. Not great or even good but ok. Better than rashford in any case who somehow managed to rescue his match with that decisive goal.

6.5 is about right.

Won the penalty and had decent game post scoring an own goal. Both of our striker weren't on form. Need to play like he did post scoring whole game

It was an unbelievably bad header. As well as shutting his eyes he turned his head the wrong fecking way. Seemed to just let the ball hit him. Woke him up a bit, though, like you say. Was better from that point on.

Held the ball up well but whenever he had the chance to attack the last man he seemed to get the ball caught under his feet.

Low on confidence.

"Won a penalty" is a bit rich to be honest. He was a bit wank today but you can tell both Rashford and Martial have no chemistry in the 3-5-2 yet, Rashford squandered some good positions and Martial made some individual errors that cost us. He was on a hiding to nothing in this game, if he has a good game he has to wait a while to play again, if he was shit then it is no big deal because he won't be back for a while.

If Cavani plays better he'll replace him. If he plays worse Martial will replace. All good for the team ! Let's not take sides okay ? Competition between both will bring the best out of everyone and will force both to work their socks off without being confident about starting every game. Cavani is absolutely not here to just collect his salary and set on the bench the whole season.

Great play to win the penalty and caused a threat for most of the match which Mbappe and Neymar didnt quite match. Needed a goal to cap off a good performance but he made a telling contribution anyway
