Anyone talking about a potential recall is either insane or the greatest footballing mind of our generation.

Nobody has proven more conclusively that they can't hack the PL than Antony. And fair play, he worked his bollocks off trying.

Great to see him doing well. Anything over £30m in the summer would be a godsend. Realistically, take whatever we can get.

I recall Antony started his United career well too, wasn't there a couple of early goals and assists? I think teams in Spain will figure him out though, that's the problem he had over here. Any half decent left back knew just don't let him inside onto his left, 99% of the time he's not going to take you on on the outside so he became a check back and pass it back merchant.

While the price tag was scandalous, I always thought he had good technical ability and a bit of fight in him which is more than a lot of the team. Not enough to be a top quality PL player probably, but with the state of our squad now, shipping him AND Rashford out on loan was leaving us too light in that department. As we're finding out now.

It's more about confidence than quality; his last goal, on the volley, was all about that. I would back Antony to look good playing at other teams in the PL.

United is a byword for negativity right now and everyone in our current squad is playing and looking like crap because that's what playing for United feels like.

It's no coincidence that everyone who is leaving the club for pastures new suddenly looks rejuvenated because they're playing at a club with a better structure and more player-friendly environment. United is the problem and we are sucking the talent out of good players because we are an utter shambles from top to bottom.

We’re horrendous as fans too, there’s already an incredible pressure that comes with playing for United but we absolutely shit on our players and playing for this club must be fecking awful.
Started with Fellaini, then again with Pogba and Lukaku, recently Maguire, Rashford, Antony.
We’re more interested in turning our players into memes than supporting them.

Could not be more spot on with this. Nobody ever seems to ask questions about the environment these players are coming into even though it ends up the same way almost every single time.

A big reason why I don’t blame Amorim for resisting throwing youth players into the cauldron.

Found himself again.

You locked his penis away and said he was the problem.

Putting aside him not being good enough he's just such a dislikeable player. I can't as a fan get behind him.

Really? How’s it working out for Sancho? Is Van de Beek tearing things up? I think the main problem is bad recruitment

translation:

La Liga is the league for South American and Spaniards.

Not surprised he is doing well, most South Americans do

And to think that "doing it in a rainy day at stoke" theory is false.

Antony literally talks about the importance of the sun for him

Yup. The list of players we could come up with who've left and done nothing or remained the same. Same goes for ex managers.

Yeah, we need to start showing prospective signings urban planning and development blueprints for current and future Manchester before they sign on the dotted line

maybe advise them to buy Superdry and The North Face stock too

Sancho is Sancho. There is something just not right there mentally. He has bags of talent but he is not a team player.

DVDB is a strange one to make a point with because he has done better at Girona. To start with, he was never a player who really suited our needs and he looked decent until he suffered an horrific injury against Bournemouth. He has made more starts for them than he did in three seasons with us.

Do his performances make you wish we'd kept him?

Yeah because that's likely more his level. It's not like he's really shown us what we've been missing (I can't claim to be too avid a follower of Spanish football, so feel free to set me straight if Donny is lighting up La Liga.)

Not really saying much - like saying ETH has a better hairline than Slot.

Imagine it'd be a pretty depressing list, including the likes of Bailly, Rojo. Schneiderlin, Lingard...

Said this a few months ago, but it's quicker to actually make a list of the ones that went somewhere and did really well (most of them going to Italy- Darmian, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku, Young...all did some good stuff).

I hope Antony keeps up his good form. I never faulted his workrate, he just seemed a bit too slow and uncreative for us.

My point was that he has done better since he left, like basically everyone else.

We should be passed the point now of heaping blame on individual players.

He has a point. Seville shits on Manchester in fairness.

Went there over a year in early November. Weather was still good, fantastic food, lots of interesting architecture/historic cultural influence and a very walkable city.

Anybody would find a spring in their step coming from the UK..

It's just not true.
I started amusing myself by imagining writing posts using that poster’s template. For example: Antony scored at the weekend, like basically every time he turned out for United; Bruno put in a calm, controlled display, like basically every time he plays in the midfield for us, etc.

And the season is over by the time Aug comes and you melt.

Feck it - shall we all just support Betis now? Sounds lovely

Anywhere south of Spain during English winter period is basically heaven for us. Jamon Iberico bellota every meal mmm...

I'm a fair weather fan. Betis through the spring, Boca in the winter, Monaco in the summer and Tenerife in the autumn.

Went there last month for the first time with little expectation and stereotypical impressions of the resort holidayers but came away with a quietly enjoyable time. Lovely nature, interesting terrain, micro climates, good food and chill vibes. Driving along the main motorway all along the coast and mountains was lowkey kinda fun.

Like most La Liga legends, can't do it in a wet night at stoke.

Chilling in the sun and beach and playing champions league football when playing such low intensity teams serves such a benefit.

Ah I love it. If you only stay around los cristianos it is very Brit heavy but otherwise it a great place. As you say proper tropical jungles in parts, amazing walks and great weather.

yeah by all means stray away from los cristianos and starve due to the lack of a good full english. now trump and putin are saying land grabs are ok, we’ll be over to the canaries to take them. the locals will weep tears of joy.

Curious. What's to dislike about him? Aside from him not hacking it here I mean. I don't think he's cut out for the Premier League but if a player isn't good enough it doesn't necessarily mean he's detestable.

Pleased he's doing well after having to endure all the shit from the toxic media over here.

He's a good player with a decent attitude.

Always found his on pitch demeanor to be petulant, sort of aggressive in an unnecessary, almost laughable way.

Gives me Dennis Wise vibes.

Nothing to do with him being good enough or not and purely his on pitch personality. Can't speak obviously for him as a bloke.

Another good assist today, he used his pace well to get away from the defenders then cut inside and played a lovely little pass to the forward to setup the goal.
