Good on him. He was too one dimensional for the pl though. Just get a good fee 40-50m and get over it

But he’s still one dimensional in la liga? So is it a case of the PL full backs being a lot better than la liga, Antony being more confident again or a bit of both?

We really should be able to get a decent fee from someone for him

I don’t know which goal was more beautiful: this one or the Fiorentina goal.
The fiorentina one in my humble opinion. Absolute postage stamp, on his weak foot from pretty much a static position. But, both goals were outrageous

We need him back, give him till Jan transfer window. Spanish sides will buy him then regardless if he has not clicked in Premier League

Highest ever level of defending in Premier League I think, it’s basically 20 prime AC Milan defenses over here or even better.

Must be, cause he’s doing exactly the same over there. Got to throw in the fact we are absolutely rubbish and create nothing or play as a team well.

If he wasn’t our player already we’d be looking to buy him. That’s the scary part.

We’d be crazy to take him back, take the money in the summer and move on. He’s not suited to the Premier League and that’s not going to change.

The whole point of loaning him out was to be able to sell him and it’s one of the few things that has actually worked this season.

Holy shit, 91st minute winner as well.

Someone in La Liga better pay up for this dude. £30m would not be unreasonable for what he's shown at Betis.
The more I watch it the better it gets honestly.

He has pretty serious personal issues when he was with us. They appear to be resolved.

he’s scored against arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool and City playing for us and got one of the best assists I’ve ever seen away at Chelsea as well.

I would say a bit of both. La Liga seems to be a little less intense. Players have more time on the ball. Therefor the cut inside will be easier. But confidence helps for sure

I think you have to add in we are rubbish and have no attacking structure to help create space for any attacker, so they all look worse than they are in my opinion.

No way, he went on loan to be put in the shop window and have a chance at showcasing his talent, and he's done that.

Now we need to cash in, not think he can suddenly do this for us, as all the evidence in the 18 months he was with us firmly pointed to the fact he couldn't.

They were resolved a while ago, he’s playing in a league that he is more suited to. Unfortunately he’s just another player we have signed who isn’t suited to the Premier League.

We aren’t ruthless enough and if you don’t take these opportunities to offload players you end up regretting it.

He always was able to create space to cut inside though. He's just hitting them way better, it's more the pressure due to the price tag and United being dysfunctional for a long time.
He's beginning to look too good for us to sell giving our current options.

The issue wasn't Antony but rather how our team was weak in the build up phase from the backline and into midfield. When you as a team have no ball control in deeper areas of the pitch against the opponent's press then you will predictably as a team keep going direct and hence players in wider areas will be required to provide pace and physicality hence negating their technical qualities on the ball. And that's what happened with Antony because when your CBs and deeper midfield cannot resist, evade and vertically pass the ball at a good level then the forward players will be isolated due to a lack of passing options and hence playing in transition becomes the norm. Quite a few of the City players who played in wider roles and did really for them would struggle in our team due to not having the same level of control behind them from the CB positions and into midfield.

If you look at the Real Betis team, their midfield as far as evading, resisting and progressing the ball forward is better than ours with players like Carvalho, Cardoso and Altimira. And that isn't even a top level midfield but with the qualities they possess it means they can have more of the ball and have extra passing options in the final third which really helps the players in the forward areas due to the support behind them.

Bring him back and move the nets at OT six inches to the left like they are in Spain.

Nah it was largely antony

I always love when you see teammates put their hands on their heads because of what they just witnessed.

No.
He's not suited to the PL.
Plus, how many goals have we racked up against Spanish clubs this season? A fair few I imagine and we're shit.

Lamal who?

We knew he had that in him as he scored an absolute screamer v City, however, somewhere along the way, he lost his confidence. He was passing it to the goalkeeper in the PL, where here, it's Arjen Robben finishing.

Lo Celso scored an amazing goal to level.

Antony: Hold my spin.

Look at the reaction of his team mates on the back post.

Should get another chance to shine here. There is no logic giving him away after his loan.

He does get a lot of love. Might be one of those players that needs it. I dont think United is best suited to love especially in our current situation
