I feel kinda sorry for him because he's clearly had an amazing season at Betis and doesn't want to leave, but also Betis are letting him down because they clearly don't have the funds to actually buy him.

It's difficult but he just needs to get it out of his head that Betis are actually a realistic option. The fact that Como allegedly bit the most should be a no brainer, for both sides.

They are not letting him down, they are working together. He isnt entertaining other offers cos Betis have probably told him they will get him when the times right.

He could just as easily tell Betis hurry up and sign me before I go somewhere else but he is not doing that.

Did any teams actually bid for Antony? If it’s a bid from Saudi Arabia I’m not sure it helps his WC case. But yeah Betis can go do one if they’re trying to low ball us.
The tweet states that Man Utd have told Anthony to accept "one of the transfer offers" which implies there have been at least two offers that Man Utd deem as acceptable.

With Mount and Zirkzee ahead of him in the pecking order, and likely Bruno sometimes seeing out games as a 10, Anthony better wake up soon. He's going to be nowhere near Uniteds bench if he tries to brinkmanship us.

I just find it bizarre that any club would rather screw over relations with another club (especially one the size of Utd) over one player. Like players come and go but clubs still have to deal with each other and to screw that up with Utd would affect them a lot more then the benefits of signing Anthony.

We have always treated him with respect, I dont remember anyone booing him or abusing him. When he wanted to move to play more football in December, it was done quickly and without fuss. We were in middle of an injury crisis too and we did not stop him from leaving.

I hope it is BS but regardless of it being true or not, this should be our official stance, hurry up and get your agent to work, if you want Betis, get your agent to pressure them to come negotiate in good faith.

He needs to understand, we need the cash for reinvestment in a timely manner. Not days / hours before the window closes, now or this week. If a lowball offer comes in late in the window, he is banking on club to be rationale and cut loss and accept the offer. But other than saving on his wages and some cash, we missed out on making more investment and got humiliated.

Why is he so sure that the club wont reject the deal if it comes too late and he ends up staying until Jan. It makes more sense for us to wait as we likely to get a better offer in Jan since he will be desperate to play (2-3 months to impress to make the world cup squad) and probably be more open to other offers.

Money talks and clubs are fickle I suppose.

If in 12 months time there's a possibility of offloading more deadwood on Betis then it'll be all smiles and handshakes again.

I dont think giving them players for free and covering half their wages will be any more attractive in a years time. Money talks but they're not offering any so i'd say this is burning bridges.

What does Antony think he will gain by siding with Betis here?
If United get irritated by his and Betis' behavior, they might just sit him down and not use him this season. Sure he'll get his money paid, but that's the extent of it.

Like a great man once said, Antony doesn't hold any cards here.

The stupid thing is we probably would have tried to find a deal for him 2 months ago. I think their brinkmanship has just pissed people off and resulted in better offers they cant compete with.

People at clubs are always changing. How long do you think it will be until Spurs deal with Forest again, or Newcastle with Liverpool - the answer is when the next suitable deal happens.

It’s our fault that we have allowed this to happen. Seems we are now trying to out a stop to it.

We should have released a statement 3 months ago saying this sort of approach was unacceptable and will not lead to a transfer.

Sancho has no motivation to play and on last year.

This is different from Antony. If he is not contributing to the Baleda fund in next week, I will reject any lowball offer from Betis and keep him until Jan.

Jan will be his last chance to make the world cup and he will know by then we wont entertain any low ball offers. I believe the offers will be more than sending him on loan to Betis now.

So either we sell at right price now. Or we keep him until June then sell him again

He won't play a single minute with the senior team and his value would massively drop. I believe he will move until deadline day.

His value will drop yes. But the question is will it drop below what Betis is lowballing us now with loan offer? I believe any offer in Jan will be better than what Betis offer us now. He will be more open to other clubs too.

Get fecked betis. Either use him as a backup lwb or make him restock the vending machines or something. We'll find something for him to do.

He shouldn't get his way unless betis stump up some cash. Because what's the point in loaning him again anyway? If they didn't buy him after that amazing loan spell, they aren't going to

Furthermore we have to set the precedent.

Betis would have been told months ago to F off by most clubs, that’s even if they had the gumption to try this stunt with them.

If we take a financial hit, so be it - will pay dividends in long run.

I can also meet there price tag too. 20 quid and a monthly payment of a packet of Tayto with a choice of flavour. 500m OPTION to buy through.

We need to brief or make a statement that we wont entertain cheap loans with buy options for any remaining want away players this summer.

They’re cheap. They’re not going to buy another player from us in the next 15 years.

I remember thinking “this lad has Fenerbahce written all over him” 6 months into his United career. Make it happen! Make me that prescient!

Tbf, Jose would like him. He’s not a shirker unlike some other in the bomb squad… *glares at Sancho*

Now we have Turkish teams pleading poverty, maybe if you hadn't spent King's ransom on Osimhen you could have afforded to you know actually buy him Galatasaray
I mean, they loaned Osimhen for a year before agreeing to pay that massive fee, kind of a loan with a delayed buy option. I'd be more confident with Turkish teams picking up the option compared to Italian or Spanish teams.

Just annoys me to see teams asking for loans with us

We entertained a loan with no obligation for Rashford, and this is the kind of suitors it leads to.
So you think if Rashford had been sold, Antony would have had serious offers come in for him and he wouldn't have spent all summer pining for a return to Betis?

This is it. Rashford got what he wanted, others players look at it and follow.

Club needs to be ready to take a hit sit players on the bench if the club doesn't get what they want.

fecking loans. Why is it always a fecking loan. His wages and asking price aren't even that crazy

Not sure how we’re letting a player/shit club dictate where he goes a potential loan should have been shot down week 1 of the summer with a threat of reserve team football in a World Cup year.

Real Betis…I’d refuse the loan just out of pure spite feck em
