Just tell betis to feck off. Saudi window shuts after ours, give Antony the decision to make, Saudi or rot in the reservesfecking loans. Why is it always a fecking loan. His wages and asking price aren't even that crazy

This, I can't stand him and his face. I disliked him even before we signed, you can se he's a cnut. If he wasn't clubs would be lining up.Of all the bomb squad, I dislike him the most. We signed him for record fees, we gave him the best chance to succeed, there wasn't any fall out. Is not like we froze him, refuse to play him. He had his legal issues and we welcome him back when he was cleared. I don't understand this behavior from him if he is essentially depriving the club of any transfer fee by holding out for Betis on loan.
I can understand Sancho or Garnacho burning bridges with us but not him. I would reject any loan deals and table those that has a transfer fee to him and let him if he rejects any of them then we will keep him until Jan and we can revisit again. I'm sure whatever fee we ultimately sell him for in June is much more than what loan fee or wage coverage that Betis offer us now.
Someone mentioned Saudi window shuts after ours, so even better. We should probably reject any loan deals out of hand immediately and just wait for the Saudi window.
We spent over £80m to secure Antony in a race against ourselves, so of course they do.How many clubs have asked our rivals for a loan with obligation deal? It seems like they're able to sell off nobodies with about as much PL experience as I have for at least £25-30million.
Other clubs take us for mugs, I really hope we put our foot down for once, even if it means we keep these players in the reserves out of principle. Galatasaray in particular can do one - they've spent 75mil on Osimhen and given him a 300k a week contract.
Well, Yes. He had a good spell at Betis and was a phenomenal at Ajax. The potential is still there for any semi-big club. He might have been trash for us, but he can be a very good player for almost any club outside England really. So you think if Rashford had been sold, Antony would have had serious offers come in for him and he wouldn't have spent all summer pining for a return to Betis?

People generally don't choose their next job based on what would most benefit their current employer.Of all the bomb squad, I dislike him the most. No they don't but people generally don't burn bridges too. Ronaldo wanted to leave but he make sure we gotten a transfer fee for him. Mbeumo wanted to join but didn't kick up a fuss and so we have to pay a fair fee for him just 2 examples off the top of my head.People generally don't choose their next job based on what would most benefit their current employer.

He was never phenomenal for Ajax.
He’s a £20-30m player, and has always been that sort of level.
Can’t wait for him to leave. Should not be on loan, id rather keep him and show clubs we won’t be bent over.
Right. Let's believe we all didn't watch Anthony's highlights when he came here and many didn't think we'd signed a new superstar. Hindsight 20/20.He was never phenomenal for Ajax.

To be fair many said they were never impressed with his highlights from memory.Right. Let's believe we all didn't watch Anthony's highlights when he came here and many didn't think we'd signed a new superstar. Hindsight 20/20.
Not from my memory. He completely outdribbled teams in tight spaces with very brazilian moves just before coming here, having most on here believing we'd signed a great player. To be fair many said they were never impressed with his highlights from memory.
I thought his last season at Ajax was very great and he was productive over his last two seasons too if you looked a bit deeper into his stats.
Been a huge disappointment here.
Seriously. He was compared, and rightly so to Gapko, that was the level he was at.Right. Let's believe we all didn't watch Anthony's highlights when he came here and many didn't think we'd signed a new superstar. Hindsight 20/20.
You do realize expectations come from a player having performed to a high level when buying them, right?Seriously. He was compared, and rightly so to Gapko, that was the level he was at.
Show me anyone who thought he was phenomenal at Ajax - because that’s simple false.
I want a new washing machine from Curry’s. Think I’ll go for the buy now pay in 12 months…and then just return the bloody thing after 12 months because it’s useless and not pay a penny. Think they’ll go for that right??……right!!Do they think we are that dumb? They might as well tell us they will give us 100m as an option to buy after an initial loan. And then never exercise that option.
Not everyone. @Yagami with some spot-on analysis in that thread. You do realize expectations come from a player having performed to a high level when buying them, right?
Easy: His thread when signing shows everyone (probably over 90%) getting really excited about him. Everyone thought he was a great buy (indirectly saying that he's a great buy because he did really well at Ajax).

"Some outrageous bits of skill in his highlights comp."
"His dribbling is all fine and dandy but what I like is his end ball is really great most of the time, good stuff."
"His dribbling is impressive but his passing/crossing/link up is also excellent, think him and sancho will be good together"
"Prepare for Salah numbers"
"Don’t know how it turns out, but this is the most exciting player we’ve signed in a long, long time. So pumped."
"Welcome future Ballon d'Or"
"Superb signing"
"Welcome! I think he's going to be fantastic on the wing for us. The talent and trickery is so rare these days"
Plenty on here were concerned he was a memphis level talent, nothing more. He's stats in a poor league weren't that good and non of his showboating seemed productive. Not from my memory. He completely outdribbled teams in tight spaces with very brazilian moves just before coming here, having most on here believing we'd signed a great player.

Always been the case. I can actually understand it in situations like these where we've signed players for big money and on big wages, but we've even had protracted sagas for players like Dean Henderson, Elanga and now Garnacho. All of them should've been relatively simple sales. We even have transfer sagas when it comes to selling players. Please make it stop.
If nobody pays the money, I'd take him back. It's not like he can't be arsed like Sancho. He had a good loan spell, got some confidence back, give him a go at left wing back.In this marker I wouldn't sell him for less than €40m. His agent needs to work his ass off to get us that offer before the end of the month.
I think we could use him instead of Dalot. Problem is (1) his mindset is on Betis, and he sounded like he’s indisposed psychologically to play for this club again, and (2) PL defenders are his kryptonite. If nobody pays the money, I'd take him back. If Betis or whoever won't give us any money after his last very successful loan spell, there's no point sending him on another one.
And the only reason a lot of people preferred him to Gakpo was because we were in need of a right winger. His attacking stats for the Eredivisie were not impressive at all.Plenty on here were concerned he was a memphis level talent, nothing more. He's stats in a poor league weren't that good and non of his showboating seemed productive.
People however thought as Ten hag knew him well there must be something there for us to spend that much on him
Dalot isn't going anywhere . Mostly he would be our next captain if Ruben is still here next season.I think we could use him instead of Dalot. I didn’t say Dalot is going to leave. I said we could use him instead of Dalot as RWB.Dalot isn't going anywhere . Mostly he would be our next captain if Ruben is still here next season.
So taking Antony back for Dalot isn't an option but if Ruben is sacked, probably yes.
Left footed wallflower Antony as a RWB??? Come on.I didn’t say Dalot is going to leave. I said we could use him instead of Dalot as RWB.
