The poll is only 3 days long, why would I need to close it?Time to just close the poll. He seems like a nice person but there isn’t any question, he just can’t hack it in the PL and needs to go.

Yeah the one player who just got his head down so for that reason he deserves a move where he wantsNot sure why anyone would vote "keep" - he's obviously totally out of his depth in the Premier League and will thrive in a much slower league.
Fair play to him for making his loan move a success, he should be rewarded with a move elsewhere, and we should be rewarded with him not playing for us ever again.
Hindsight's great isn't itScouts think lots of players will be good enough and they aren't.
Your eyes should tell you he was never good enough, it was clear from early on that he didn't have the skillset needed to succeed in the premier league.
Yeah it is. Common sense is also great. Lots of people were screaming NO back when we were rumoured to brake the bank for Antony, his numbers were worse than David Neres and we were paying like we were buying the next Robben. Same arguments were pro antony that you call on today: ETH knows best, scouts know best, not my money etc.Hindsight's great isn't it
And look at him in the final against Chelsea. Absolutely invisible again. PL too fast and too physical for him. End of. He offers nothing.Out of all of those on the chopping block this summer (Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho etc), Antony is the one that I am most likely to want to try to re-introduce into the squad.
It’s mainly down to his work rate, but also the great season he has just had which took a lot of character.
He is a hard worker and seems to have a good attitude. But people are forgetting just how bad he was. And as you say, as soon as he faced a pl defender he looked like the Antony we know. And look at him in the final against Chelsea. Absolutely invisible again. PL too fast and too physical for him. I know they play different positions but I saw some linking atletico with johnny cardoso as well.Betis are about to sell Rodriguez to Como for €21m + €6m, so I guess that'll be Antony heading to Betis soon.

Cardoso to Atletico for around 30 million too so they can stop pretending to be poor.Betis are about to sell Rodriguez to Como for €21m + €6m, so I guess that'll be Antony heading to Betis soon.
And Johnny Cardoso is heading to Atletico for €30m. Hopefullythey can stump up sufficient cash now.Betis are about to sell Rodriguez to Como for €21m + €6m, so I guess that'll be Antony heading to Betis soon.

Yep, I guess this is the culmination of more then a decade of pandering to overpaid & underperforming players - coming home to roost! Look at how seamlessly (& for decent amounts) city and pool seem to shift fringe players - albeit obviously on much more reasonable wages.Nah, they’ll still plead poverty, just like every other club that shows an interest in our players.
It was reported earlier in the summer that the minimum price is 32.5M, presumably in Euros. Betis are very unlikely to be able to pay that but have been in touch regarding a deal structure that would see them pay a loan fee for next season with an unbreakable obligation to buy at the end of the loan. Antony has signaled a willingness to cut his salary to make it happen so I assume it is very likely that we do a deal around these parameters but we do of course have the prerogative of waiting to see if a better offer from another club comes in before the end of the window. What do we have to sell him for to not make a PSR loss? I can't imagine he fulfilled any of his add ons.
Could even do some PSR nonsense with them to make it happen. Shame they don't really have anyone we'd be interested in.It was reported earlier in the summer that the minimum price is 32.5M, presumably in Euros. The physicality part killed him. The Chelsea final showed that quite clearly in contrast to his time at Betis. The narrative killed him, i think if he moved for 30m instead of the insane 80m he would have had less pressure and done ok here as a rotation player.
He was double marked. Physicality wasn't his problem, he held his own very well. It was mainly decision making. The physicality part killed him. The Chelsea final showed that quite clearly in contrast to his time at Betis.
He wouldn’t have been a better player with a lower fee. He’s simply not suited to being a first team player in the PL.The narrative killed him, i think if he moved for 30m instead of the insane 80m he would have had less pressure and done ok here as a rotation player.
How did he perform relative to Antony last season?Betis just sold their winger Jesus Rodriguez for 22m. I can think of a replacement they could use the funds on..
Just watch them plead poverty and ask for loan againBetis just sold their winger Jesus Rodriguez for 22m. I can think of a replacement they could use the funds on..
They have plenty of funds with them. We cannot be rinsed on both ends of the scale and have to get back to acceptable norms as far as selling goes.Just watch them plead poverty and ask for loan again
Problem is we need money to fund striker and CMThere is no way he goes on loan again. There does appear to be other clubs interested.
To his credit, Anthony prepared to take a pay cut. He wants Betis but they are gonna please poverty.
In the past we would just crumble and taken some shitty offer, now we need to stand firm on what we want until they meet it.
Roro Riquelme? They spent €9M for 50% of his rights, not 20. He is Jesus Rodriguez's replacement. They just signed a player for 20 odd million they can feck right off with a loan

A Jadon SanchBow?30m is peanuts. Cough up and we'll even put a nice little bow on him for you.
30m is more than their record transfer, it's not next to nothing for a small club outside of EnglandAre Betis the only club remotely interested in him? Seems like people really did over hype his loan. 30m is next to nothing for someone who supposedly was doing amazing.
Agreed, and back then we had folks making posts like these:Yeah it is. Common sense is also great.
