Wonder if any scousers will start a petition to keep him, like we had when Ten Hag was on the ropes
There’s been parallels (rightly) drawn with our 2013 title win and their’s last season, but the spending reflects the same problem we had; a huge portion of the team ageing out in one go. That £450m spend should’ve started at least a season before, if not two. Attempting to do too much in one go.Liverpool's summer transfer strategy is a cautionary tale. You cant make revolutionary changes by spending 400+million quid at a go.
Bro... I'm a Bayern fan. I'm talking about conducting an interview in German after 2 months at Bayern, not 2 months at Leverkusen post 3 years at Bayern. He arrived in August and conducted an entire interview in October.Erm...Alonso played in Germany for 3 years. Retired at Bayern Munich.

Look at the top 3 comments:
1 - It's unbelievable how good grammatic German he has learned in just two months!
2 - After 2 months of learning German he already speaks better than Ribéry who has been learning for 7 years!
3 - Well, there are apparently also intelligent footballers. Hat off for you, Mr. Alonso.

No other player has mastered/progressed this fast from what I can remember except Dutch players but their mother tongue is already 90 % there so it's entirely different.

Haha, I have! And I did catch the Rashford clip the other day speaking broken English to the Spanish journalists.
To be fair to the both of them, I unconsciously do the same and I'm not even a native speaker of English. Depending on the level of who I talk to I tend to dumb it down or try to speak as fluent as possible. That includes the usage of idioms, slight pauses, different vocabulary and change of rhythm.
I can't say "that is preposterous" to someone with a weak grasp of English. It's better to say "that is crazy". Can't say "that was a fortnight ago" you'd need to say "that was 2 weeks ago" unless you want the other person to think your talking about Fortnite.
What about David Moyes’ perfect pronunciation of Illarremendi almost immediately after landing in San Sebastián? I think it’s fair to say British managers just have a knack for languages

If they do sack this guy, who would be the front runner? Slippy?
You'd think so. Outside chance for Glasner.Iraola I think
Pray that they are going for Nagelsmann. It would be a glorious disaster. His situation is looking more and more untenable. Who is the favourite to succeed him if Alonso is off to Chelsea? I would hate for them to appoint Iraola, but even more so Nagelsmann.
Who knows? Truth is, I didn’t know who Arne Slot was when they appointed him. You'd think so. Outside chance for Glasner.
I'd love it. Would truly open some eyes for people that still think Nagelsmann is some messianic prodigyPray that they are going for Nagelsmann. It would be a glorious disaster.
This really baffles me as well..Joking aside , what are Liverpool doing , letting Alonso go to Chelsea to keep this clown?
You can tell that those people don’t follow the German media. It will never seize to be funny to read how the same people who keep talking about how terrible and unfair the media is at United, want Nagelsmann as their manager. He would get annihilated by the press. The whole Neuer-Baumann thing is once again showing why. The dude is simply completely incompetent in dealing with the media.I'd love it. Would truly open some eyes for people that still think Nagelsmann is some messianic prodigy
It absolutely beggars belief.Joking aside , what are Liverpool doing , letting Alonso go to Chelsea to keep this clown?

Perfect storm for Chelsea to jump ahead, they could sack their guy as the CL places were out of reach, Liverpool have just about been doing enough so Slot has stayed in place?Joking aside , what are Liverpool doing , letting Alonso go to Chelsea to keep this clown?
Great point -- that's why I think Rio's a pretty empathetic interviewer. I have seen BBC foreign correspondents use 3-4 syllabus words on people in Tibet or somewhere and thought... they arent doing their job. If they need to extract information, then they need to bow down to the non-native English speaker/interviewee.
Its also a sign of someone who has lived in multiple countries or certainly in non-English-speaking ones. Empathy.

What post? Kind of missed thisThat post from Salah is about as close to calling for him to be sacked as you'll get without saying it outright. So with quite a few players either responding to or liking it you surely have to assume they all want him gone too.
Full quote from him is on here -What post? Kind of missed this
I don't think Salah's his biggest fan.
Thanks!Full quote from him is on here -

No chance, Enrique is about to extend his PSG contractWhat is up with these Enrique links? Don't tell me that there is truth in that. Bookies have Enrique as first favorite for Liverpool bench.
I hope so. Lot of noise today about Enrique and Liverpool. No chance, Enrique is about to extend his PSG contract
I'm not sure how this is possible but I think he's somehow got balder since taking the Liverpool job.

Heavy metal football is the dumbest phrase ever.
Netherlands again? Heard some talk the players are in Monaco this time, sigh. Can't even wait a week for another city break.Of course, Slot wasn't (as usual) even in the country to respond to the post by Mo, but the irony of that will surely escape him.
