There’s been parallels (rightly) drawn with our 2013 title win and their’s last season, but the spending reflects the same problem we had; a huge portion of the team ageing out in one go. That £450m spend should’ve started at least a season before, if not two. Attempting to do too much in one go.
Bro... I'm a Bayern fan. I'm talking about conducting an interview in German after 2 months at Bayern, not 2 months at Leverkusen post 3 years at Bayern. He arrived in August and conducted an entire interview in October.

Great point -- that's why I think Rio's a pretty empathetic interviewer. I have seen BBC foreign correspondents use 3-4 syllabus words on people in Tibet or somewhere and thought... they arent doing their job. If they need to extract information, then they need to bow down to the non-native English speaker/interviewee.
Its also a sign of someone who has lived in multiple countries or certainly in non-English-speaking ones. Empathy.
Honestly, there is something Gollumish about Moyesy. I dont seem to listen to what he says. But am mesmerised by his face/eyes when he speaks.

Unless a Dutch club has a big name former player (like RvP) or manager (like Van Gaal), or they have a great European run (like ten Hag) I wouldn’t know them. Ditto many non-top 5 European leagues. Slot was out of the box, next one could be too.

It will never seize to be funny to read how the same people who keep talking about how terrible and unfair the media is at United, want Nagelsmann as their manager. Yep! I watched Rio interview Casemiro the other day, a very wholesome interview, and he definitely adjusted his English a lot to accommodate Casemiro. The empathy you are speaking off was really evident.
Rio also employed a whole lot of laughs, body language, articulation and at times filling in if needed.
You could really tell he has been around immigrants for a long time such as young Cristiano, Nani and Anderson. And he is obviously living in Dubai nowadays interacting with 90 % non-native English speakers so he has probably picked up how to speak in order to get his message across.
Apart from that: as a non-native English speaker myself that currently lives in Asia I come across brits and other nationalities daily. Suffice to say some brits are better than others at adjusting their speech patterns, some just go on as if I would be from Lancashire or something
And by the way that also goes for the locals whenever I try to speak their Asian tonal language. I've been here for 9 months and have perhaps reached a B1 by studying meticulously but its awfully hard. I'm always thankful when the natives slow down their speech, articulate and try to understand the context even if I sometimes get a tone wrong (thus accidentally actually ending up saying another word).
Up until the last couple of days, I was so certain they'd get Alonso. He's by far the most promising of the newer generation of managers. What he did at Leverkusen was up there with some of the greatest managerial achievements of all time, and he was doing very well at Madrid up until that club's toxic culture ruined it for him. It's possible that Chelsea is too much of a mess for him to fix, but I definitely think he's going to be one of the top managers in years to come. And Liverpool's board didn't want anything to do with him when he was right there for the taking. If I was a Liverpool fan, I'd be absolutely furious.
