Arne Slot | ex-Liverpool manager | The Bald sack watch is over

Heavy metal football is the dumbest phrase ever.
Also very rich coming from Salah, who was essentially the only player given less of a defensive/hard running role. Of course he enjoyed it, he just got a platform to attack off.

I knew he was shite when he rocked up at Old Trafford dressed like a cheap clown and made his team look like a bunch of clowns with his open midfield
5-1 vs Leipzig? That was fun. We did that, beat PSG away and beat Istanbul Basaksehir 4-1 at home and still failed to pass the group stage

I’m not really seeing enough evidence with him. To be fair to him Leipzig ripped us to pieces in the first half of the return fixture by targeting AwB’s horrible positioning. The match finished at 3-2, IIRC Greenwood dived for a penalty at 3-0 and then we got another one near the end but it was a poor performance.

Netherlands again? Heard some talk the players are in Monaco this time, sigh. Can't even wait a week for another city break.
He took off friday after the game. They are all coming back on tuesday. Every week is holiday week. Football is a part time job at LFC.

Classic. You'd think they've hold off for a week for optics alone...

Also didn't know until recently that Hughes apparently still lives down in the south coast and only works in Liverpool 2 days a week, so I doubt he's bothered about the constant holidays either.

The humor will leave this thread when Liverpool replace him with Nagelsman or Enrique and we are left wondering how we gave Carrick a 2/3 year deal.

He's dropping Salah for their last game. Slot may need a police escort to and from Anfield.

The guy who lost a CL QF to Villarreal with Bayern.

He must be the most overrated coach on the planet.

The boos could start at the announcement of the starting line up. There's no doubt whatsoever who the fans will side with here.

He is. I am very sure that people who hold him in high regard have barely ever watched his Bayern or Germany sides actually play. It is name recognition and that's it.

Yeah we played better but that was last 10 minutes. Deserved to lose and finish 3rd, especially after losing in Istanbul to Basaksehir. Remember the goal we conceded there? Corner and ball to start their counter?

He used to skateboard around the Bayern training ground. Roy Keane’s head would explode if he did that at Carrington. Can’t imagine it would go down well with the media if results weren’t there.

It's always a big boost when a big name new signing is unveiled to the crowd before kick off, à la Varane at Old Trafford.

Could we see Mo Salah present Arne Slot with his P45 prior to kick off? What a boost for the fans and team that would be.

Yeah the smart thing to do here would be to reward a past it player for his second public outburst of the season.
Rewarding one of our best players ever for his last game that in one fell swoop gets rid of the manager er urgently need to be rid of it.

I'd love it. Everyone would.

Except for all the outsiders. But fans would love it.

If he starts a player who publicly disrespected him then he loses all authority as a manager. He may as well just resign

I’d find it funny

MaMa wouldn’t because he’s talked to slot through hairline

This Liverpool stuff is so United like,it's just beautiful when it happens to someone else. The fans are now constantly going to look for Klopp in new managers and players will throw the coaches under the bus. City are just about to enter the same phase.

And Klopp had what, six or seven years where they were actually a top side?

A top side with a teamwide asthma pandemic, mind you, the poor wheezers.

They are desperate to sack a guy who matched Klopp's league title count. Can you imagine how quickly fans will turn on a manager who actually sucks & doesn't have a league title to save himself.

Klopp built the club up to win that title (and a European Cup). Do you think Slot would’ve built Liverpool back up like that if he’d come into the mess that the club were in 2015?

I am not comparing Klopp to Slot as managers. I am just talking about how difficult it is to do the job once great managers leave.

What's so difficult?
All they want is a popular charismatic manager that plays exciting winning football all the time.

There's loads of them about.

If we’d had similar results but played decent football with some tactical nuance, I would’ve given Slot another year given the shortage of top managers available.

It has to feel like it’s going somewhere and it doesn’t feel like that under Slot.
