Arne Slot | Liverpool manager | Bald sack watch

We were all so sure we had the next Johan Cruijff over here

What a fraud.

He’s a football genius and they need to back him with another half a billion. The only manager who could possibly replace him is Stevie G.

All the jokes pool fans made on Reddit about Amorim at the start of the season.
"Hope they win so Amorim keeps his job" etc.

I wouldn't write them out of the title race yet, they have a favourable run of games coming up, that's the reason why if there was to be a winner of yesterdays game i preferred a City win.

Forest (H)
West Ham (A)
Sunderland (H)
Leeds (A)
Brighton (H)
Spurs (A)
Wolves (H)
Leeds (H)

The fact that Forest & Sunderland are at home, with West Ham and Leeds as the away games in their next 4 plays into their favour big time. They should win all 4 and allow them to build up some form and momentum for the next 4 which aren't the most difficult on paper either, so i actually wouldn't be surprised if they win all 8.

Ok, totally fecked this prediction up....1 game in!

They really miss Alexander Arnold & Luis Diaz.

Diaz was better than Gakpo
TAA is better than frimpong & kerkez put together (i'd say even Dalot has been better)

Wirtz has moved Szboszslai all over the pitch and signing Ekitike & Isak has made it hard to find a balance with Salah as the main liverpool forward.

I remember watching Isak highlights at Newcastle and his goals never wowed me even though his stats were great. I'm not surprised that he is struggling. Jota used to score clutch last minute goals for them off the bench.

Also Klopp is a different league to Slot. The big headed Galactico method never works.

It's great to see them struggling.

I've never played a team sport in any competitive way but I'm curious how much does the loss of a teammate affect the team members? When playing a game or preparing for a game in training, do players keep thinking about the teammate they lost to the extent that their professional performance gets affected?

I'm in no shape or form trying to be disrespectful to Jota or the players. I'm just curious how such a loss affects the players mentally. Does it affect them enough that we can chalk poor performances in some games down to the loss of a teammate?
Nah, I think maybe for a week or two. Beyond that, I don't think it's a valid excuse for poor performances. When you're playing a football match, you're going to be focused on what's going on in the game for 90 minutes. If anything, I'd think that was the time they'd be least likely to be thinking about Jota.

They shouldn't even be thinking of the title. Their defence is cack, and set up isn't great at controlling matches. Created very little at home too.

As Chelsea have shown, get a run of wins and suddenly you are in with a shot though.

Happy to say he's doing shite this season, but I assume he wasn't in charge of their recruitment this summer.

And that recruitment has left them looking very imbalanced. Maybe a new manager makes that business look more cohesive, but I'm not convinced.

I was expecting this last season, but to his credit he didn’t change anything from Klopp. They lucked out with Klopp back in 2015. It wasn’t Edwards or FSG that were critical to their success. FSG have been as bad as Glazers.

Hopefully Gerrard gets the job soon.

I know it’s bad for them right now but surely they can’t be sacking a manager who won them the title the season before?
