Arne Slot | Liverpool manager | Bald sack watch

Is he forgetting the 5cm rule that was applied for Wirtz and only Wirtz. Then there was the clear and obvious handball against Palace (?) where the arm was straight up in the air.

Bitter bald cnut.

There's always a 5cm margin of error. It's been there since the second season of VAR and is built into the semi-automated technology. People just can't grasp the concept of perspective distortion. You can't actually accurately judge if someone is offside on TV footage with the naked eye.

Yes, all very depressing.

Still, at least the lads all had a nice few days off during the week again so Arne could feck off back home to the Netherlands again. @B20
It makes me angry beyond belief. He's utterly checked out and somehow still seems to think you can compete at the highest level as a part time job, with the players doing part time as well.

The longer he stays there, the more they morph into LVG's United. Great to see.

Surely must be sacked at end of the season.
Keeping him around will mean next season is a write off as they’ll inevitably have to sack him at Christmas.
Spending 300m or whatever it was to make the team worse is genuinely impressive.

If I was anybody at Liverpool I’d be a little bit alarmed just by how outspoken he is about the style of football in the PL. It seems he only has one trick up his sleeve and is only interested in beautiful football, but they look too easy to get at and are all over the place defensively. How much interest does he have in that side of the game? Because that will be their undoing.

LVG did the double over Liverpool in both his seasons though.
I was thinking of the pointless, impotent possession for the sake of possession, but you're right.

We gave the big teams a game under LVG. I think Liverpool this season have been beaten by most if not all of the sides in the top half.

could have fooled me.

Ah, but for 20 minutes we were on top against PSG at Anfield. Slot's takeaway from the game was that this means the future is very bright indeed for this club.

Yeah, needs another season for sure. The way they intercepted those passes yesterday and clawed their way back into the game is a huge testament to how he’s setting the team up and he really needs another transfer window to show his true potential.

His claim that they controlled 90% of a game in which they were behind on the scoreboard for around 70 mins was pretty funny. He's clutching at straws blaming referees and individual errors.

He should stay and be given a fair go at building his own team instead of trying to muddle along with Klopps aging players. I would like to see how a team full of Slot signings performs.

He should be given at least 2 more years. 3 years minimum to build your own team after all.

He is such a victim in his interviews.

VAR is always agaisnt them, one mistake and it's a goal against, loads of chances but they don't score, Virtually every game he says the same thing.

The longer he stays a Liverpool the better, he is such an excuse merchant, even though he tries so hard not to sound like one.
So he's Scouse through & through. He deserves to stay.

The lack of self awareness when the only good chances they had were from two self inflicted errors from United. It’s obvious to everyone that they got completely outplayed.

The handball wasn't clear at all and yet that lot are acting like Sesko punched it into the net, standard.

I said last season was too easy for him, this season the cracks are appearing and he is absolutely rattled. His post match interview was hilarious, almost on the verge of a breakdown. Now throwing players under the bus too.

Next season this will only end up one way, a sacking just before xmas.

He’ll be gone this summer I reckon, especially if Alonso is still available, which I think he is?

That's harsh on LVG, he didn't have as much offensive talent as Slot have had with Liverpool. And I think that outside of final third action under LVG United were extremely sound while Liverpool look like a highly skilled mess.

He keeps babbling on as if he is in the process of reinventing football. Trotting out excuses after every game that seem to always focus on how other teams are not playing the right way or how hard done by Liverpool are. Even pool fans are tired of his excuses. And the beauty of it all is the football his team is playing is average at best. I remember when Arsenal were a easy touch in Wenger's latter years, but they could play beautiful football. Liverpool have just been shit and Slot is basically saying, "we bought all these players who play a certain way and other teams are not letting them do it." Wanker.

Just saw his comments saying that VAR goes against them every single time this season...

Is he actually being serious? Is this his Keegan 'love it if we beat them' moment?

Ok he's not a particularity likeable or charismatic guy but it's mad that Liverpool may sack a manager that finished 1st and (probably) 4th in his first 2 seasons! Plenty of seasons Klopp finished well outside the top 4

Giving him a 5 year deal would be like us winning the league again.

Heavenly Father, I don't ask for much....

He finished 8th in his first season, when he took over in October. After that the only other time he finished outside the top 4 was seven seasons later in 22/23, and it was a 5th placed finish so not exactly "well outside" either. Not to mention that he had won the league, Champions Leauge, FA Cup and League Cup in the four seasons prior to that 5th place.

Ok, so twice he finished outside the top 4, whereas Slot has never. And took him 5 seasons to achieve what Slot achieved in his first season, a league title.

And yet Slot should be sacked?

Excellent summary, he should've been sacked months ago when it became painfully clear that the only way he has us going is downhill.

Whereas Klopp took over a team full of midtable players and put them on an upward trajectory from the very beginning. The reverse of what Slot is doing.

Does anyone seriously expect him to be there next season?

Personally, I think it's likely. The doubt I have is regarding Alonso's availability, but maybe he just doesn't fancy it right now considering how things went at Madrid. I expect FSG to give Slot at least another year, but if he doesn't have a strong start, could be sacked anytime between November/January.
