People suggesting a collapse given what happened last season need to realize last season was a quality issue. We didnt bottle it against Palace, Newcastle and Spurs. Injuries forced Tavares at LB and Cedric at RB. Rob Holding also started the match against Spurs.

This season, our backline has been occupied almost exclusively of Tierney, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu, White, Saliba, Gabriel.
Yep. We have a pretty clear first XI and 3 of them (Saliba / Zinchenko / Jesus) are new to the team. Not only has this improved our starters, but it’s given us much better depth.

Apart from Partey. No real depth at DM, still. El Neny is fine against mid table and below, but I’m hoping we find someone to push Partey in Jan.

Shakhtar Donetsk have placed a €100m valuation on Arsenal target Mykhailo Mudryk.

Edu can start looking elsewhere. Zaha and Thuram are available for free in summer.

Edu been given a bit of a promotion it seems, from Technical Director to Sporting Director. Wasn't sure what it meant either but seemingly now the Academy will come under his remit as well.

I think we all know what Arsenal are missing to win the league this season, I've heard Arsenal fans say this as well.
Get Ronaldo he'll win you the league. Please.

Any idea what’s up with Ben White you Gooners?

Was ‘unwell’ and couldn’t be on the bench for England and has now gone home due to ‘personal reasons’.

Seems an odd one?

No idea.

The whole nature of the situation indicates it must be a pretty serious personal matter.

Club said something along the lines that they were thinking of him and the family, for what that's worth.

Reports this morning that Jesus is out of the remainder of the WC with a knee injury. Brazilian press are saying 3 to 4 weeks so probably out of our games against West Ham & Brighton. Newcastle and Spurs away next so hopefully no setback :nervous:

Were a system team. We dont rely on any one player to get the goals. Plus our best player is still fit . So long as Super Mik Arteta doesnt pull his hamstring when leaving his technical area this new Arsenal is still good for it

I'm sorry, did you not watch us last season with Lacazette up front?

There are fates worse than death. I didn't believe it at first, but where there is smoke there is fire. IIRC Arsenal were five points clear in 2007/8 prior to Eduardo's injury in February. United went on to win.

Arsenal will be 1st in the New Year, and this happens to Jesus of all players. Brutality at its finest. It almost as if someone sat on a throne and said, finish him fatality like with the sudden injuries of Van Persie or Fabregas whenever Arsenal started to gain momentum.

Don't get me wrong, it was never going to be a flawless victory, hurdles are to be expected in a title winning season. But then you think of Leicester and Liverpool's EPL triumph and they were relatively imperious from getting injuries. With the upcoming transfer window, it will be imperative that you not only flex your muscles, but test your might.

We saw last season that Arteta had unequivocal belief in the system, as exemplified by his persistent mention of expected goals and dominating possession. In that respect, he's fully adapted the mindset we are many, you are but one.

Like many before him, he creates an us vs them mentality, to the point he was convinced any defeat was the work of referees or bad luck. With Jesus' absence its an opportunity to adopt a similar mindset by rallying the troops, adopting a warlike mentality as shown in the Amazon documentary, and take vengeance at the powers at be. I imagine his battle cry will sound like vengeance will be mine.

Arsenal shouldn't panic, yes City are a formidable opponent, but fundamentally nothing changes. Arsenal still need to fight. They need to treat every game like its a final. Arsenal used to win games in the tunnel by having a fearful presence. The same needs to happen, gaze into the eyes of your opponent with the mentality, fear me this fight will be your last.

Well glad they enjoyed it while it lasted. It couldn’t happen to a nicer fanbase…

We bang on telling everyone what he brings to the team when he's not scoring goals then say we won't miss him if he's out for 3 months?

Come on sir, not sure even you really believe that.

If it's going to happen, it's happened at a decent time - can get someone in January

Do you really think you can win the league with Nketiah up front?

This kills Arsenal. Takes away any rotational options as well as the games come 3 per week. They needed a striker on top of Jesus to get through the ridiculous calendar never mind somehow replace him

Anyway. Bad news for Arsenal if Jesus misses the next 3 months. Quite unlucky that’s happened considering he’s not a starter for Brazil.

They’ll need to pick someone up in Jan I imagine, in addition to a CM. The fixture list is crazy.

Enjoyed what while it lasted?

We haven't won anything.

What do we deserve again according to your ledger, and why?

Furthermore why would we be any less deserving of any amount of success as opposed to Manchester United or any other team?

Niketiah has 140 mins of PL football. No goals. No assists.

Lacazette is thriving in France. 15 games, 9 goals, 3 assists.
:nono: We all know that if you play in a farmers league it means that your goals actually account for -10 so Nketiah is outperforming Lacazette with ease.

Classic Arsenal fans. Blaming injuries already.

The worst thing is they're still in a brilliant position to fight for the league, fragile fanbase.

if you’re stupid enough to spend a load of money on a guy called jesus, you can’t then complain when he’s unavailable over the christmas period.
