Arsenal - 2024/25

Wait, all this talk of dark arts, and yet the players that went down supposedly time wasting are actually injured?

Yeah, its nonsense. Raya was hurt and limping around the pitch, Timber was forced off and we had to replace him with a 17-year-old when trying to hold a lead, Opta says that overall the ball was in play longer in that half than in the second half of any other PL match this year. Some "dark arts."

Yea, that went through my head too. All the guys Cala, Martinelli and Timber who went down ended up going off, and probably two of them are/were not completely match fit.

Oh that's interesting stat....to be honest 80% of the half was spent kicking about sideway passes.

This is hilarious too in light of all the dark arts nonsense going around. Literally five seconds into the match.

That's even worse than i thought, he barely pushes him in the chest, nowhere near his face. And turning towards the ref mid-fall...

A 17y old kid on a yellow card too by the way

Well they all actually came off as well, apart from Raya, but he was pictured hobbling onto the coach after the game. Folk seem to forget this.

Edit: Sorry I missed the replies to your post on the next page.

That's why I kind of figure we will see our first choice defense. Need to protect this kid a bit

I can see Lewis-Skelly, Kiwior and perhaps Saliba playing. I'm just not sure who's available at right back with White carrying an injury and Timber going off.

Send Havertz to jail for assault! I saw that some people thought that was a red card.

Depends on the punishment. If they’re taken to the cleaners as they rightfully should be, then they would either lose titles or have their reputation and accordingly that of their titles seriously damaged. None of this is a “small talking point”.

For as much as City are spoken of highly right now they are also ridiculed for being a bunch of cheats. And that’s without the judgment - a damning judgment would absolutely deny their supposed glories in a serious and irreparable manner.
England/UK as a whole is one of the most financially corrupt countries in the world. Money always talks here.

Now that we have some youngsters playing, I am way more interested in this cup.

Merino back in light training, Tomiyasu and Odegaard not too far behind them, hopefully the squad looks a bit stronger after the international break in a couple of weeks.

As soon as United start challenging City again all these "these titles don't mean anything" will start to suddenly mean a lot
We've finished second to them more than Arsenal have. They even best us only on goal difference. Daft argument.

Yeah. It's going to be exciting to see what the best starting 11 is once everyone in the squad is fully fit.

Merino over Partey?
Calafiori, Timber, or Ben White? Who gets left out?
Martinelli or Trossard?

Our full midfield would be Odegaard, Merino and Rice.

Partey, Jorginho would drop the the bench. At the back I can see Arteta exchanging White and Califiori like the City game. And he would rotate Martinelli and Trossard though I can see the latter edging out.

Trossard has absolutely earned a starting role after the last year.

If Tomi can stay healthy for a bit, that would probably drop Kiwior even further back. Think we should put Nwaneri as a 10 for the Leicester game and put Trossard on the left. Sterling and Martinelli off the bench. Is Raya still out for this weekend?

Pep seemed rattled by the Arteta comments. Weird.
Pep is not rattled by us, if Klopp didn't rattle him I highly doubt Arteta will as both are best friends in real life. He's twitchy about the hearing.

All these City players like KDB, Silva x 2, Rodri etc could have been absolute stars for eg Madrid or Barcelona or any other big club....instead forever their legacies will be tainted by playing for cheats. Pep has spent his prime, nearing a decade in a few years, its all about to potentially be blown up in his face. I used to like him a lot, however there is no way he can sit there and pretend he or people like Haaland, and other top players didn't get envelopes like Mancini did. City have had to hide all the 'extra' payments to convince top personnel to come to a nothing club with no history. And this isn't even a contreversial opinion, look at the way they doctor their revenues. Even something as basic as shirt sales.

I mean, Arsenal do usually use the dark arts. We all know this. City game aside, it happens again and again and again. Arsenal are the only club in the league whereby halfway through a half a player will drop right on cue in order for Arteta to have his tactical huddle.

Count that shit. Go back and see how many games he's done this in. You telling me these guys just happen to get an appropriately convenient in-game knock by accident....... Consistently?

Good news is the opposition manager can use that time to do his own team talk and organisation, as often happens as well. Just like Pep did on Sunday.

That’s how you play Man City, not like a bunch of cowards and parking the bus. I like Arsenal as a club, but Arteta has spent the most in world football in recent years, you guys should expect better.

Do you remember how Newcastle beat Arsenal 1-0 last season at St James park. Time wasting is not something arsenal have invented, its done by all clubs at some point of time.

Congratulations, Newcastle shall now be known as the true courageous heroes of the PL. Thank you for your service !

You'd think Newcastle won the game judging by your post.

They've done well, already played Villa (away), Spurs (away) and City (away) and have got 7 points out of it.
I feel like we really need an away win over City and Liverpool, mentally it'd do wonders in terms of confidence. We have drawn twice at Anfield without winning so I am hoping this is the year.

We did that 2 years ago, with 62% possession, the lowest Pep's team has ever had. We lost 3-1 to sucker punches. And again, this time, we were ten men. When we were not the first half in all metrics we were on the ascendcy. We were also away from home.

Also hilarious coming from a Newcastle fan, who's team utterly park the bus against at the Emirates and wasted unreal team every single goal kick and pass a couple of years ago when you drew and had to rely on the ref having blindfolds on every red cardable offence for Joelinton last year to beat us at St James's.

You were at home, and had 11 men, and at no point did you have a lead to hold.

I remember reading on this forum years ago that ndidi was better than Rice. The difference now is mindblowing.

To be fair mate if I was not an Arsenal fan I'd find it very annoying too. But noone is stopping any other club doing the same, I don't recall any club dominating the fair play awards at any point. Even you'd admit this team is hardened compared to the softies we had 2 decades, being bullied by any team who'd give us a kick.

Nasri was right about you guys ‘

I was at Arsenal but moved to Man City because their fans are ‘more passionate’

Your fans are universally known as a bit soft..probably reflects why your team is so emotional. The nasri comments always come home to roost ..,

"The City supporters are really passionate and it reminds me of [playing for] Marseille," the Frenchman enthused.

"Arsenal have good fans but they are not that passionate since they moved from Highbury to the Emirates.

You do realise the guy who is talking about passion went to City just for the money

Still won more than you ever will, even with the oil lottery.

Also nice to see you have nothing to say about your initial nonsensical post.

We won't win the league if we keep mucking up at home. Got very lucky today even though deserved it but better teams will punish us for lapses in concentration.

Noone can win the league by being so careless at home.
