Arsenal 2025-26 - Will they bottle it?

Regarding posters talking about th8ngs arteta does to motivate players like fire, light bulbs etc, maybe ti prepare for burnley
and west ham he will make players go under a table to see what it feels like to be bottom of a table to get inside their oppositions heads. I'm so funny.

This was ridiculous when he said it years ago, and still is today. Is Bournemouth vs Arsenal a more heated rivalry than Man Utd vs Leeds?

You could even argue that London clubs have an advantage in that they travel less distances over the course of the season.

I fully expect Brighton to win the PL sometime in the future, given they don't really have any rivals of close proximity.

It wasn't ridiculous when Wenger said it, and is still as equally valid today.
Local derbies are inevitably intensely competitive and produce unexpected results irrespective of form and league position.

Man City contested six Lancashire derbies this season compared to Arsenals dozen against London clubs, of which three are still to be played. Fulham, sandwiched between their CL semi-finals against Atletico, will not be easy and Arsenals away fixture to relegation fighting West Ham, who have significantly improved since appointing Nuno Santo manager, is hardly a foregone conclusion.
Away to Palace in the final game with the title still a possibility will be interesting.

I will be surprised if Arsenal win all three.

They don't even have to leave London in the Premier League for their run in. They are still favourites to win I feel

Hmmm, they’re not going to out score City. Their best hope is Everton or Bournemouth take points and they just keep up the 1-0 wins.

I don't watch them, just check the score and xG every week so can say how boring they are.

Today: 0.64 v 0.91

Must have been another great game, full of creativity.

A big result but a concerning performance. A fairly toothless Newcastle in awful form kept them sweating until the final whistle, and now they’ve got Atletico Madrid who are very capable of out-shithousing them.

Really poor performance from what I watched. Wouldn't say undeserved win, Newcastle didn't create anything, but still another negative display from Arsenal.

Newcastle had a perfect chance to bury them around the 80 minute mark. Wissa missed a sitter.

He went for the spectacular volley when any basic touch low would have been a goal.
Arteta said in his post-game press conference that Zubimendi was sick which makes his decision to leave Norgaard out of the squad even more stupid.
They're going to shove pills through every hole so he starts in Madrid and play 90 minutes.

Today can't inspire much confidence.

They had a midweek rest this week, City only got 1 goal against Burnley so it was a chance for Arsenal to really make their mark on the goal difference front and give themselves an advantage, Newcastle are in awful form, have nothing to play for and have checked out for the season... And Arsenal muster up a whopping xG of 0.64 at home.

Fulham home and West Ham away in the next two will be a tough ask to get 6 points playing like that when you've got CL games midweek in the lead up.

I really hope Arsenal get their Aguero moment on the last day whilst all eyes are on Pep. I have a feeling it might come down to a late goal on the last day. We need another moment like that to end City’s run.

Hopefully they'll drop two points at WH, that should be the end of it.

Or 3.

People talk about City’s fixtures being harder but as long as they win their next 2 against Everton and Brentford, I think the last 3 are pretty much in the bag since none of Bournemouth, Palace and Villa will have anything to play for by that point. And Le Arse still have 2 ties against Atletico and and potential CL final.

They really needed to beef up that GD and they just can’t do it at the moment. Yesterday were it not for that peach from Eze they would’ve lost points, it was actually painful watching them fluffing any chance from open play in the 2nd half and spamming ineffective crosses onto Dan Burn head

It’s says the FA cup final is on the 16th, before the league season ends? That could actually end up helping Arsenal as City’s fixture congestion would be pretty messy.

Imagine Arsenal winning the UCL. We would never hear the end of Saka > Messi and Rice > Zidane all next season ;)

If they don't go on to win now, it'll worse than spurs finishing 3rd in a 2 horse race.

Fair play to them, they did exactly what they needed to do after being beaten by city which was not falter away and start dropping points. They did as much as they could have and it looks like it's theirs now

West Ham, Burnley, and Palace to play. Really should be winning all of those.
Only one I see them potentially dropping points to is West Ham. Fighting to stay up and won’t want Arsenal winning the league. 2 motivations

Had them down as winners at the start of the season and they've managed them. Thoroughly dislike the club, fanbase, and Arteta, but well deserved for them. They've been in and around for 4 years now and it was a matter of time. That being said, both them and City have been quite average, to say the least.

Yeah, credit to them for winning, but they are horrible to watch. I can't for the life of me seeing them beating bayern or Psg.

It’s done. I think they’ll win all their remaining games. It’ll be an ugly grind, but City will drop more points anyway, they don’t have that ruthless mentality anymore.

Id not be so sure in a final... early goal from set piece, play on counter - similar tactics to their 06 final that could have paid off with 10.

I'll be more comfortable if its PSG but in finals anything can happen as we well know from watching ourselves and Liverpool in them.

Can’t believe this lot are going to win the league! Absolute shit on a stick football, terrible advertisement for the PL. Even Leicester played much better stuff when they won it. I suppose it’s better than 115 charges scamming another title though.

It would be quite incredible if Arsenal manage to bottle it from this position. They've had so many opportunities to wrap it up.

My main issue with this season Arsenal is their approach in big games. Even at Emirates, they weren't impressive in those matches. One point in two matches against both Manchester City and Liverpool...

If they don't win it now, they might not ever win it under Arteta.

3 relatively easy fixtures for the title. You can't ask for more.

I'll take another draw against Brentford and another one against Bournemouth just to make sure please.
