Arsenal 2025-26 - Will they bottle it?

I still think they've got it in them to bottle it yet again.

I hope that they don't, as I hate Pep and City. If this is indeed Pep's last season, I'd love to see him feck off without being able to cheat his way to yet another PL title.

Time will tell.

I thought this was when they would win it.City are no great shakes.

It all comes down to West Ham now, I think. Palace are probably safe and Burnley are already relegated. I doubt Arsenal will drop points there.

City has a tougher run though, so it might not even matter.

Nah they seem to have regained composure now

Thoughts and prayers this morning with United fans who want city to win the league over Arsenal for some reason.
Cool, thanks.

Done and dusted for Arsenal now. I had a feeling the past few days that City would stumble last night, and Arsenal would effectively clinch that title, but be knocked out of the CL by Atleti the following day. Let's see.

In any case, deserved title winners, been the best of an average crop this season but manage to get over that final hurdle of mental block despite losing to City recently and the momentum seeming to be with Pep's side - but this is no longer the relentless machine of previous seasons, and Arsenal have done enough overall.

And got some talent back as well. Saka back & seemingly pain free is big, Odegaard, Havertz & Calafiori also add to the technical level of the team. Shame Timber is still out mind you.

In a season where it just looks like no team wants to really win it, it's funny how few arsenal supporters think they have it completely wrapped up at this point. West Ham on paper should be the last team that has a whole lot to play for. Not sure how adventurous they will be in the first 45 mind you. We tend to do well against teams that come out of their shell....but we really should be pushing from the start too. Not entirely sure how this game will play out but it might be a good game for the neutrals....for a change.

Wouldn't bet against City dropping more points. This isn't the City of 2 years ago, but neither is this the Arsenal of 2 years ago.

Can’t believe this lot are going to win the league! Absolute shit on a stick football, terrible advertisement for the PL. Even Leicester played much better stuff when they won it. I suppose it’s better than 115 charges scamming another title though.
As shit as arsenal have been, city have been worse. It would be different if the GD was different but arse are even beating them there.

Everyone going on about city having advantage as they've done this before but they forget that Semenyo and Guehi are over-hyped Bournemouth/Palace players. The two of them turned to shit the minute the pressure was on.

Funny how city's financial advantage of buying whoever they want is what ultimately cost them the league

I'm just expecting the news that Timber is out of the WC. "Any news about Havertz, Odegaard and Timber ?" "Yes these 2 are available." Arteta doesn't even mention him in his answers.
Turns out all those players getting called back from international duty were actually injured.

A win today and it could be one of the best weeks of the season (so far).

If they make the final I could see a league and CL double happening.

Teams Arsenal have played in the Champions League this season.

Bayern Munich
Inter Milan
Atletico
Olympiacos
Club Brugge
Slavia Praha
Kairat Almaty
Bilbao
Leverkusen
Sporting
Atletico

A very favourable run aside from Bayern in the group stage.

Once the knockout draw was made, Arsenal really had to be in the final. It would have a huge failure not to be, especially after Barca fumbled it vs Atletico Madrid.

Can't knock their league phase results though. They beat some top teams pretty comfortably.

Aside from Bayern and maybe Inter, which top teams are you referring to?

League phase fixtures are usually pretty levelled between teams in the new format, so I reckon it would look virtually the same for others. E.g. Bayern played Chelsea, Pafos, Brugge, PSG, Arsenal, Sporting, USG and PSV which isn't really tougher than Arsenal's fixtures above.

Their knockout draws have been very favorable indeed.

I hope those United fans that wanted City to lose yesterday can handle it when the narrative becomes "this arsenal team is better than any past United squad" like it was a few months ago.
Why not handle a ridiculus take like that ? That’s not even the greatest Arsenal team, they are far from it, let alone, United’s teams of the last.

I don't think it even was a take. Wasn't it all based on Theo Walcott getting overexcited with our good form and asking Rooney how today's Arsenal team would fair against '08 Man Utd and Rooney said Utd would batter them? Which I don't think is an unfair question to ask. Theo played against that team and we got battered then and he must think we're a better team now than back then but '08 United would probably batter every team in the world today.

At no point do I remember anyone saying we are now better than any Man Utd team ever. If anyone did they must have been trolling.

Them two. Nobody else played more than 2 or 3 top teams.

Bayern faced PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal. PSG faced Barca and Bayern. Barca faced Chelsea and PSG etc etc.

Spurs somehow managed to get away with just PSG.

I mean we were good at the time. 2nd league and we smashed Barca 3-0. Don't let the post Maresca, post Christmas chaos make you forget we actually started the season well.

Yeah it was tongue in cheek

Well that’s clearly untrue but you never know with Arsenal fans.

another reason why I’d prefer Arsenal over City is that Arsenal have never been good at retaining titles. I can see them just living off this season for years to come.

I guess it depends on how their summer goes and if City are finally punished for their cheating but I wouldn’t be too worried about them building on this.

Could really use Timber back, although Bennie was better yesterday.

We're not bottling it from here.

Going to just enjoy it now.

PL done. Let's do CL as well.

Huge monkey of their back getting this title over the line. Not winning it this year would have been the absolute worst especially given how anti football they've gone to try and get this over the line.

Doing it the George Graham way as well.

They couldn't ask for two better teams to face going into these last two games given the circumstances.

Lot of momentum going into the CL final too which will be a one off game.

This was the big game tbh. West Ham were fighting for survival. So yeah, it's done. Burnley and Palace are ginmies. Arsenal will win the title.

Great stuff from them, another year of the title going to a team with no charges! A win for football.
