Which is by the by, but I later on realised that even though I don't post a great deal on here, a lot of my activity was in that thread, and not only have I found it helpful for ticketing queries I have had in the past, I have also (hopefully) been able to help others, therefore it's a bit of a bummer not to be able to post there.

All of that said, would there be a chance for newbies to have access to the ticketing thread again?

@oates and @NHLYR 1878 - Ultimately, we decided that there is too much risk involved for the site owner and for posters (due to possible scammers - as rare as they have been in Caf history) to give people we don't know access to the thread. The rule used to be that you need at least 1 like to post there, but that's not much and it was cumbersome to apply that consistently. Also, some people really just come here for the buying and selling; but that's a 'bonus' of the Caf, and not part of our core purpose - and so not something we want to have to focus on too much. That's why we decided to move the thread to a subforum that's not accessible to newbies.

How do I specifically search for a thread? I typed in Adama Traore (did it in quotations) and kept getting his name in other threads, not his thread itself

The mods might have better information but in my experience the search function is pretty crap. There is a tick box to search thread titles only but even then it's not great. Often you get a list of old threads and not the latest most up to date one.

There is a tick box that when checked only searches titles, there is also a drop down menu where you can filter where that search occurs e.g. everywhere or this forum etc.

I've never found that not to work as long as you tik the box and the search term is spelt exactly as per the thread title. Not saying that there aren't edge cases where it might fail but I'd guess it is pretty rare.

Oh so I just need to have a photographic memory of the exact spelling and wording of the thread title... :lol:

I'm general it's quite hit and miss. I've given up trying to find threads in the past.

Thanks. I suppose looking at it again the difficulty is that the search doesn't take into account which threads are active.

There's no way to filter out threads that are locked or ones that haven't been updated in x amount of time and the one people are posting in could be a much older thread so if the search returns quite a few threads you might have to wade through a fair few to find the right one.

I'm not sure there's a way around that without a fair amount of dev and testing or if the platform even supports it.

Used to live in LA, now live in New York. noticed game times are still on pacific standard time even though on my account i listed New York. Is that standard or is there a way to change?

Maybe it's a cookie thing. You could try deleting your RedCafe cookies to see what happens when you then log in again.
 
Not entirely sure if this is a technical question, but;

If you view new Transfer tweets via the automated thread at the top of the home-screen there's a link below each new one saying "View in discussion thread" - which takes you to the actual Transfer tweets thread, where discussion is very strictly banned. Any chance we could rename that link to remove confusion?
 
Site is breaking and giving 400 errors for me since the cookies or whatever was yesterday changed. Clearing all the site data on mobile seems to work, but totally broken on desktop chrome now. Can only access on other browsers, Brave in this case.

Not sure if it’s my device, but I’ve noticed over the last year or so that the forum is becoming slower and slower to browse. Pages freeze and take a while to load often. Has anyone else experienced this?

This on computer or phone?

Have you tried another browser? My Chrome went to shit across the board a while ago but it was especially noticeable on here when scrolling. Tried changing and resetting settings and in the end it turned out my adblocker was causing the issue.

Yeah I'm having issues through chrome and duckduckgo on my phone. Ok on laptop, but not connecting otherwise through android unless I go incognito.
 
Same. Over last few days I just get a blank white screen with “This page isn’t working. If the problem continues, contact the site owner. HTTP ERROR 400”. That’s after 6 months of not just freezing my browser. I tried removing ad blocked didn’t work for me. Phone is fine. Chrome on my Mac doesn’t work at all.
 
Didn't work on Firefox nor Chrome. After couple of times of resetting the cookies it started working again (but very slow).

Go to 3 dots top right then settings, then privacy and security, then site settings, when recent acivity shows up click on view permissions and data stored across sites. Then you'll see all the sites with the cookies. Scroll or search for Redcafe Just click on the bin next to it.

This has worked so far but it took me about 5 times deleting this to get it to work and the site is very sluggish so far.

seems to be working for me on opera, not working at all on chrome
 
I cleared cache on chrome and it would load up the main forum page but if I click on anything it throws up the http error.

I ended up downloading Brave and it's working
