A bit, although you level up from plenty of things. el3mel was complaining of being overpoweredIsn't the design of the game that you HAVE to do the side quests to level up for the main quests?
, so you deffo don’t need to do that many

Nope. Leveling isn't a problem at all. I fully watched Skill Up review yesterday after I was done with the main story and while I agree with the video title and many many points he said, I was honestly surprised he was under leveled so much for the last bonus area.Isn't the design of the game that you HAVE to do the side quests to level up for the main quests?
Yeah fair enough that’s a legitimate complaint I’m only pulling your legNot enjoying it is a big of a stretch I will say, otherwise I wouldn't have managed to reach such time. Overstaying its welcome is the right phrase here.
First 40-50 hours were great, then fillers start to become way too much and the story dragged like hell.
The game has about 16-17 story arcs that you will have to complete to finish the main story. None of them are optional. Many of them were absolute fillers that the characters you meet in them will never be seen again. Some of them had terribly boring story. Think of this as a long TV show series that has many arcs. I want to know what will happen to the main characters, but I have to literally stop and do some terrible story arc about a husband and wife who have become cold to each other and needed a change in their life! BS.
Some of these arcs should have been cut from the game and the game would have been much better. It should have ended at around 50-60 hours mark. It's crazy to say but Valhalla is probably twice the size of Odyssey.
I really liked the ending and I feel it was at least worth the wait but that doesn't change the fact the game really overstayed its welcome for me.
I will rate it 7/10 even though during the first 40 hours it was a solid 8.
You're welcome.Yeah fair enough that’s a legitimate complaint I’m only pulling your leg
Yeah it’s right. Pretty sure you are strong enough to be there. I did at least half of it before that pointI'm probably c.power level 75-80 at the minute, having got allegiances in a couple of territories.
I randomly took a potion of a new laden Raventhorpe and i've found myself in Asgard. Not sure im strong enough for this area yet, but i can't see how i get back to England.
I read online, that if i do couple of missions in Asgard, i should have a symbol in my map that allows me to get back to England - is this right? Ideally, it want to progress more of the story before moving to Asgard...
Thanks mate - i've not managed to do any of the missions there, but expected i was going to get battered there!Yeah it’s right. Pretty sure you are strong enough to be there. I did at least half of it before that point
After you do the first mission there's a wake up icon that appears on map, hold the button on it and you get back to real world. You need to do the first mission only. Thanks mate - i've not managed to do any of the missions there, but expected i was going to get battered there!
Hopefully, the option to travel between England / Asgard becomes more obvious after a while!
They're pretty much standalone games these days, you could always jump into any of them anyway tbh.Thinking of getting this but have never played any of the AC games. Can you still get into it or do you need to have played the previous games?
The only ones that had any continuation were the Ezio trilogy, they were great, you should check them out. Prime AC. but yeah, AC from that point on could all be played without any bother, separate stories at this point so you won’t be lost or anything. Odyssey was brilliant too.Thinking of getting this but have never played any of the AC games. Can you still get into it or do you need to have played the previous games?

Just to add to the others, If anything you will enjoy this game more because you won’t be bogged down in the same AC formula. What’s putting me off this is the scale and similarity to the previous games but if you haven’t touched them I think you’ll be very happy with this.Thinking of getting this but have never played any of the AC games. I'm a first time player of AC - it needs some time to get used to it and the story scenes do drag a bit at first. It does start to get really enjoyable though once you get a higher power, faster at fighting etc.Thinking of getting this but have never played any of the AC games. I'm sold. Will give this a download later - thanks guys.I'm a first time player of AC - it needs some time to get used to it and the story scenes do drag a bit at first. It does start to get really enjoyable though once you get a higher power, faster at fighting etc.
You'll miss some fan service at the end but you'll mostly be fine.Thinking of getting this but have never played any of the AC games. Can you still get into it or do you need to have played the previous games?
Thank you. Are there any other games from this franchise you’d recommend? You'll miss some fan service at the end but you'll mostly be fine.
Of course, try to play the Ezio trilogy (AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations), Black Flag and Unity. They're the best in the series for me in no order. Origins is worth a shot as well.Thank you. Are there any other games from this franchise you’d recommend?
There was only one that gave me issues but they can be tricky, they do attack in patterns though so learn their attack routine. Plus try maintain stamina, parry often to slow them down and you need some patience.Does anyone have any tips on beating the three witch sisters (or whatever they are).
Im level 180ish but get my arse handed to me repeatedly by them.
I did them when I was around 350 power level. I'll suggest to leave them till the very end.Does anyone have any tips on beating the three witch sisters (or whatever they are).

thanks. I’ve managed to do 2 of them today but the one is solid. There was only one that gave me issues but they can be tricky, they do attack in patterns though so learn their attack routine. Plus try maintain stamina, parry often to slow them down and you need some patience.
I may have to - I wanted to get Thor’s armour which is why I thought I’d try and beat them.I did them when I was around 350 power level. I'll suggest to leave them till the very end.
I pretty much finished the entire game using the Raven Clan armor you start the game with. I found it the most balanced one. It doesn't really seem to focus that much on which gear you have unlike Odyssey, as long as you keep it upgraded regularly anything would be enough.I may have to - I wanted to get Thor’s armour which is why I thought I’d try and beat them.
Seemed like there’s be little point in leaving it too late as little left to achieve with the better armour etc.
On that point is there an armour set you’d recommend using from my sort of level 180-190 through the latter half of the game?
Ah ok - thanks! I assumed I’d need to really think about balanced armour / weapons as the game develops.I pretty much finished the entire game using the Raven Clan armor you start the game with. Regarding Thor's armor, without any spoiler, it seems for me like an armor set for the upcoming DLCs because you get the very last part of it at the very last minute of the game's story, which will open the possibility to get Thor's hammer but at this point you won't find anything to use these on, which is a big shame.
Yeah it's bloated, Skillup wasn't wrong about this point in his review. There's no area on the map that's optional, actually, you'll have to do everything for the main story. Some areas play out like big fillers but you'll still have do them, which makes me wonder why they didn't make the filler areas just optional questlines.Ah ok - thanks! I assumed I’d need to really think about balanced armour / weapons as the game develops.
I’m amazed at the grind with this one. I’m probably 48 hours in and reckon I’ll still be going another 50 hours before I get close to completing it.
You have to be extremely patient to beat the sisters and definitely have the "brush with death" skill. Can't just mash the attack button and have to read their patterns well. Like @el3mel said, best to leave it till end of the game for most straightforward experience.I may have to - I wanted to get Thor’s armour which is why I thought I’d try and beat them.

You’d do well to platinum these games!Im on 130 hours and ive only got 1 fish to catch for the platinum trophy. I can't though as its bugged so just waiting for a patch.
You can use any armour and weapons for most of the game. I went with the double dagger most of the game as it kills in a frenzy.

Any advice on fishing? Seems to be total pot luck. Do different fish spawn in different areas for example?
They level up to your level now. They changed when they added XP boosters to the store.I did them when I was around 350 power level. I'll suggest to leave them till the very end.
Definitely this. I loved Origins, then found Odyssey bloated in structure and overly long in length.Ended up buying this in the psn sale atfer promising myself not to bother. I didnt love the previous one but still put 100 hours into it so I probaly will get my moneys worth
Do you folks prefer this one or Odyssey?
I heard about that, way to monetize a single player game, Ubi!They level up to your level now. They changed when they added XP boosters to the store.
Love this way more. Odyssey was overkill with the weapons and armor you would constantly collect. Not many in this one and you level up what you like. World was nicer in Odyssey, but still really well done in Valhalla (not their fault, Norway is gorgeous, England just isn't as nice as the Mediterranean scene).Ended up buying this in the psn sale atfer promising myself not to bother.
