I feel stats shouldnt depend on "deserve." It should be just black and white facts like did the ball completely cross the line.
There are other metrics for attacking contributions like key chances created. Casemiro was basically a really good pre-assist. We don't need to redefine what an assist otherwise we might as start to remove goals from tap-ins and deflections.
