I noticed when I was getting my ONE United membership that you get free entry to Reserve games. I might see if I can get up for a few to see Ole and Rossi/Pique/Bardsley in action. Are they usually well attended?

They get good support but nothing spectacular. Most games are played at Hyde rather than Old Trafford, I assume they'll be playing at Ewen Fields next season as well. Anyone heard anything different?

As someone who attended a lot of games last year, you'll find a reasonable crowd turning out at Hyde for the reserve games. My only warning that I would state is that the ground at Hyde get's very cold during games, so beware....

As someone who attended every game at Ewen Fields last season ,I can confirm that it is ,indeed ,cold enough to freeze the proverbial balls off the brass monkey.

The size of the crowd is usually 600-700.
When Ole played there was over 2000!!

Oh, and the soup is exceptionally good,as is the Vimto. ;)

It's a good Craic,actually. I can't wait for the season to begin.

Oh ..and one last thing.....It IS at Ewen Fields, Hyde.

Show off!!! Some of us have to work during the evening you know! I'd happily take the kids I work with to the reserves, but it wouldn't be allowed by the parents.

Time of getting back home. It would be a bit too late for them, and thus the parents wouldn't be happy. Plus my bosses would probably moan over the hours I'd have to put in. Mind you, my work does have an advantage. I've got a contact who'll get me tickets for OT for some of the kids I work with and thus I may not miss too many games full stop.

Timmy Howard, Saha all played as well. Still I suspect that many of reserves we had last year, will appear again, with the exception of Rossi.

Kenny Cooper that wonders player from Dallas!!!!!;)

Kenny tried his best for the team, but often that wasn't enough. His last few games were a bit farcical to be honest, but he still tried. I think for his effort he was liked, but not a lot more. Kenny Cooper the Diego Forlan of the Utd reserves last year. Tried hard, but nothing came off for him. Though he's doing well in the MLS this year.

He tried, but it wasn't enough.........unfortunately.
I wish him good luck in the future.

The Eagles concert was on 20th June.

Watching the Eagles play a near perfect set at the MEN Manchester for almost three hours on a Tuesday night in June was stupendously good.
Loads of songs , every one a classic rock hit.

Long Run
New Kid in Town
Wasted Time
Peaceful Easy Feeling
I Can't Tell You Why
One of These Nights
Lyin' Eyes
Boys of Summer
In The City
Already Gone
Tequila Sunrise
Love Will Keep Us Alive
No More Cloudy Days
Hole In the World
Take It To the Limit
Walk Away
Sunset Grill
Life's Been Good
Dirty Laundry
Heartache Tonight
Life in the Fast Lane
Hotel California
Rocky Mountain Way
All She Wants To Do Is Dance
Take It Easy
Desperado

Not sure of the order of the songs......
This is the nearest I can remember.

I'd have just liked "The last Resort" to be played.

Outstanding Concert!

:D :D :D

There aren't many actually.......

The Farewell Tour Part One (Live in Melbourne) is almost identical to the concert I went to.......This is a great DVD.

Hell Freezes over tour is very good too.

Can confirm that Ewen Fields was no where near as cold as Wigan Away last season (Reserves).

Vimto, no way! I've been drinking that naff hot chocolate. Will take a step up to vimto next season then.

Wigan must have been ridiculous then because Hyde was below freezing for the majority of the Winter/spring games.

The wind blows straight off Werneth Low and it's not sheltered in the slightest.

The pies are decent ,too. :D

It was ridiculous to be honest and we got battered :(

Do you ever see those young girls at Ewen Fields who seem to fancy the youngsters at United. Well one of them wears her blue united away kit with Pique on the back, short sleeved as well, she goes to all games at Hyde, summer & winter and always has that short sleeve shirt on. But over at Wigan even she put a coat on, I was amazed.

I tend to sit down at Ewen Fields and to be fair it does get baltic, so now and again I'll go and stand behind the goals to the left near where the ambulance parks, as it is much more sheltered over there :)

And yes the pies are always a bonus on the cold nights :D

yep...I know the girls you mean.
I did actually see her with the Pique shirt over her coat at Hyde, one night.

Incidentally.....
Piques sister is a steward at Ewen fields the moment I believe.........

Hot drinks are only purchased on odd occasions. I tend to wait till I'm back on the A57 back into Manchester and stop at one of the chippy's or pizza places to buy hot food.
