Aurelien Tchouameni | signs new contract til 2031, to be official after the World Cup

Reliable for Real according to Reddit (Tier 2) and one of their big forums (fororealmadrid). Seems somewhat in line with the other recent reports.

"I also mentioned that the club sees Tchouameni as the key player to sign for the midfield." seems like an iffy translation, but probably in reference to us. Hard to tell if the Camavinga interest is from a different club entirely or not.

Who is buying Camavinga?

I assume there are going to be plenty of contradictory reports in the next few days, which is usually a sign a player's position isn't secure. Even if he only makes a decision after the WC, we're only 10 days away from the final, so I can imagine we'll start exploring the parameters of the deal with Real so we will see plenty of such reports over the next week or so.

Still too early to suggest what will happen here. If we're in contact with his agent and are already discussing potential contract terms, then there surely has to be some major indication, that a transfer can happen. Doubtful we'd waste time and effort if that's not the case. At least you would like to think so.

So just to confirm:

- He is staying at Madrid, or could go to Manchester United.
- Madrid want to sell, or don't want to sell
- He wants to come, or he doesn't want to come
- We are making him take a pay cut, or he will be paid fairly
- we have flew out to meet with Madrid, or we will fly out to meet with Madrid
- we will offer a deal, or have offered a deal

Awesome. Glad to know where we stand.

How could we possibly have offered a contract to him when he's still at the world cup? All of these caps headlines are bollocks - the real stuff will start in 2 weeks-ish

I think he might have an AGENT who takes care of his BUSINESS and who isn't PLAYING at the World Cup.

Everything would be through his agent.

You underrate our capacity for amateurish behaviour and idiocy, bless you.

I'd say City will go for him if he's up for sale and it's a matter of paying up and there's no drama
We made a bid? Wow

Sher "personal terms are not supposed to be an issue" when it came to Fernandes. This is all just still paper talk. If there is any legit movement on this it'll be after the World Cup. Madrid may want to move the player on but he still may not actually want to come here this summer. How many times has this happened to us with a midfielder almost everyone unanimously wants and we end up with nothing? I'm not totally blaming the club either, it's the media getting the fans riled up on nothing news because whether we get him or not it's going to gain major traction

What’s the split on this guy?

70% want him
30% don’t

?
You're very much in the minority not wanting him. Closer to 90% in favour. Most either want him or think it's unrealistic because they either don't think he'll want to join or don't think Real would want to sell

Over who exactly?
Preferably a realistic target.

If injuries weren't an issue I'd rather Camavinga over him. He may still end up the better player of the two, much higher technical ceiling for me. Younger. Versatile. Lower transfer fee. I don't see any of these lads leaving till Madrid put the money down and actually bring in their replacements though. They will hope they get another crack at it next season and ultimately remain in Spain like De Jong

I believe a guy from the group Muppetiers has just tweeted that deal is agreed between both clubs up to the player now.

Think most people that don’t want him just want to crap on the club and are doing it vicariously through him (and other midfield signings)

The average transfersexual prioritises:

Are they young? Because young means potential and the unknown promise of a blooming player is very alluring

Are they flashy? Oh god its lovely when the youtube highlights are long and filled with moves that make you go ooo

Are they desired? Nothing is hotter than when a player is wanted by others
They better not have been rejected or dumped by another team though. Major ick

FDJ 2.0

Wonder how much this transfer fee is supposed to be? About £85 - €100 million? I just can't see us doing it and then paying him 300k a week. I don't think he's actually worth that and it's a great deal for Madrid getting him off thier books for that if it works out

The cynic in me says this will end with a brief from United saying "Tchoumeni wasnt 100% into moving to United, so we walked away".

They say "Hey we tried for Anderson, Fernandes and Tchouameni, but they didnt want to come, so here's Andrey Santos who is a childhood United fan"

I know Giorno is not a fan because Tchouameni isnt a ball playing 6. That's true. He isnt a Rodri or Carrick.

But every top PL team has one midfielder whose main job is to provide ball winning + out of possession qualities. You have your Anderson, Rice, Caicedo etc. Now maybe Anderson is more of a ball player than Rice, but none of them are elite deep lying playmakers, and they dont need to be. They are paired with one, like Zubimendi or Enzo. Think Kante + Jorginho.

If we can get him, Tchoumeni will be our defensive lynchpin, and provides a very solid base for Mainoo+Bruno. You pair Tchouameni with a playmaker, and you have a perfect midfield.

Would I prefer a Elliot Anderson over Tchouameni? Maybe. But we cant compete in that market, so we will have to go with whats possible. There is no one perfect midfielder, its all about building the right balance.

So it's tier 2 Alvarez say he is staying, however tier 2 Diaz and tier 1 Sanchez saying we have made an offer and Real willing to sell

How many tier 2s are there for Real Madrid

Is Sanchez the Athletic guy?

I believe its all spin to get a better contract at Madrid. Been down this road before.
