Aurelien Tchouameni | signs new contract til 2031, to be official after the World Cup

Luckurst having a proper blinder this summer

Feels like a lot of domestic based journos are as out of the loop as we are when it comes to club dealings this summer , probably for the better

It's a tough one because this doesn't really prove him wrong. Just said we asked and based on what Mitten recently said we have. But your right Luckhurst knows jackshit and almost certainly making it up based on Mittens sources.

So why hasn’t the contract extension been made official by Madrid? Or there isn’t a need to for an announcement? I still think this has some legs to it

I guess there is no need to make announcement

Romano says he has already signed his new contract. Luckhurst is so low he will make things up

No way this signing is happening now. Tchouameni and Tielemens start mostly every game in PL and CL on merit itself.

Mainoo and Santos will end up on bench if both stay fit. No way the management will do that.

Looking at who we are targeting, I am sure we will go for a cheaper alternative like Berge, and wait another season to sign someone marquee in midfield

Most reliable I can offer is Mitten's contact in Madrid saying they could still sell despite signing new deal
Thanks. With the way midfielders are priced in the premier league, this guy would/should cost more than all of the recent transfers. If we get him sub 100m it would be a bargain.

With 2 years left, it was always going to be sale or contract renewal this summer. They’ve gone for the latter.

They may sign Rodri anyway, because the pair of them together feels very Jose. Those two, Bellingham in front of them and Valverde on the right ticks so many Jose boxes for defensive solidity, physicality and shit housing.

With news that Real might push for Rodri, I wonder if this changes the Tchouameni situation?

This transfer season, United has been creating noise in the East and striking in the West. Seems like the more noise there is on a specific player, the less likely we want him.

Much better than the way it used to be, where we'd announce to the entire planet who our targets were, then act surprised when the selling clubs would play hard ball and slap ridiculous price tags on them, only to dither around for most of the window because we didn't have any backups, then make some last minute panic buys right at the end of the window.

Good job, Woodward/Murtough.

Club have also said they are not interested in players that aren’t keen on joining. Can’t see this happening at all.

this is spot on and why it's a no goer . Real will most likely sell Camavinga. Can't see selling Tchouameni considering Jose likes him and will most likely use him quite a lot, Rodri or not. On top of that he already signed a new contract. No point in chasing shadows..

Makes sense.

We've tried the route of luring players who didn't really want to come here with huge wages, etc and look where that got us.

I see what you’re saying there

Luckhurst has put up another article few minutes ago.

"Real Madrid willing to sell Aurelien Tchouameni to Man Utd with Jose Mourinho ready to cash in if price tag met

I didn't click it, so I have no idea what it says. But I think it's safe to say Luckhurst doesn't know much.

Do we even still want him after that one game at the world cup where he didn't play well? Should knock half his value off after that I'd imagine.

Just a setup for the later - player SNUBS United - article he has already written.
Clowns like him are best ignored.

Logically speaking why would he have the inside track on this before everyone else?

He wouldn’t.

Don’t think he’s that good. Don’t be buying Madrid rejects.

Can we blacklist Luckhurst? Writing absolute dross to try and seem relevent.
He's a perfect Mourinho player and has extended according to the most reliable football journalist on the planet. Why would they extend his contract and give a massive wage increase if they were even thinking about selling him?

As if we don't read enough fantasy bollocks during the off season, Luckhurst wants to give us even more. What next, we're signing Haaland?

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..

Really hope this is all just gossip. Feels like it would be a saga.

Blacklist Feckhurst. I don’t believe it, otherwise I’d be on the Tchouchou train.

Apparently Frenkie de Jong has fallen out with Flick. But I don‘t think we need him anymore.

It's still not official. Until it's official there will be occasional rumours about him. Think Andy Mitten also said recently that the chances of Tchouameni joining United are still not completely dead.

Preseason is underway, season to start next month so we'll probably know definitely soon.

Anyone we sign from there is a reject. There won’t be a day where we’re poaching their best talent against their wishes.
That‘s silly, he‘s a key player for them. He‘d come available if Rodri goes there, and that would be an opportunity for us.

Tchouchou is in his prime, it‘s different than the Casemiro transfer.

And I want to add: the PL is the highest platform you can play on, and we are the biggest club there. That is a draw for many ambitious players who want to prove themselves.

It is silly and you’re right in everything you say but I can’t escape the feeling.

Interesting, given that we signed Di Maria from them, Arsenal signed Özil, Bayern signed Robben, Inter signed Sneijder and a bunch of other examples.
