Depending on who Real buy, I think there's a fair chance he'll be open to leaving.
I think we would get both. There was talk of upto three CMs coming in, as long as Ugarte was offloaded. If Madrid do buy Enzo, someone is going to leave.
A midfield of Mainoo, Ederson, Fernandes and Tchouamemi looks pretty solid to me.
Yep it’s the picture changing in Madrid which I think will swing this one way or the other possibility wise.
I really can't invest myself in this saga. Can't help to think this was never a thing and more like journalists (and fans) trying to keep the topic alive. Much more meat in Fernandes deal and we're definitely not getting them both.
The important thing is that the narrative is being created that Tchouaméni was looking to leave anyway.

His wages would be high, but when you sign a player at 26 on a 5+1 you get their best years. And you are really likely to be able to extend if you want because few clubs will be willing to buy a playet past 30.
If were disciplined and lucky with a buyer for Ugarte and Rashford, why not both?
We should also get a bit of cash from Greenwood deal. Then Vitek should command a decent fee after his performances last season.
Sancho and Casemiro off the wage bill give United so much more room in the budget as well. I still expect Rashford to leave, as by all accounts he’s not going to be given any playing time.

It'll be race amongst the elite for him though seemingly from all the reports but if we think we can beat out the likes of PSG and Real to his signature then sure go for it.
Just think spending big money on an 18 year old at that position may not be the most prudent option. These other teams are much further ahead than we are with regards to team building so they can afford more risks.

They have experienced winners in there team. It’s less risky for them than us relying on an 18 year old when the going gets tough during the season.
If Real buy Bouaddi, we should buy Tchouameni or Chema.
Chema is basically Bouaddi but with passing instead of dribbling. It would seem odd for Real to go for him considering they do already have Chema:
I disagree. I’d consider Tchouameni readier for this club, and our ambitions. He’s also been on this level of stage, is physically ready for the grind, and fits the mold of exactly what we’ve been seeking in terms of career trajectory.
Ok we're signing Ederson but beyond him we're a bit inexperienced in midfield, especially defensively.
M Fernandes has good experience for his age but if we manage to get Tcheumeni as well its well balanced

Bouaddi isn’t ready, if we want to win the league in the next 2 seasons (which seems to be the timeframe) we already have a very young midfield (if Fernandes comes in). We need someone with proper experience who is title winning class.
Doubtful that Graeme Bailey would be the first to know.
I don't rate Aurelien Tchou as much as others but that's just me. Experience is all well and good but quality is required or potential quality more than ever. Depends on how much our scouts rate Buaddi but if they reckon he has potential to become a top quality mid for us, then it should be worth the gamble.
This originated from the Madrid papers days ago saying thay Jose doesn't consider him one of their 'untouchables' followed by reports that they may need a high profile midfield sale to fund their next midfield signing and that clubs were in contact with Tchouameni's representation before the season ended.
Quite a jump from that to the stage where us and Liverpool have been quoted a price.
Is those earlier reports have something in them then might not be so crazy that they're making their demands known to prospective buyers/interested clubs
I don't disagree. I'm not saying what Bailey says can't be true. I'm saying I don't see why we should be adjusting our prior opinions based on the words of someone who probably doesn't know anything we don't.
I would much rather Bouaddi as he's a long term investment. He'd be delighted to be here and I think his ceiling is even higher than sigh, copy and paste : Tchouameni. I also dont want to have to copy and paste this guys name for the next 5 years. It reminds me of when we went for Casemiro Varane and Ronaldo and let them fund the next generation, it's happening again..

What a shame it's this truly dreadful source saying it, pits when it comes to transfer reliability
Of course you don't pay him 500k/week, but top class players demand top class wages. If this club thinks we can somehow just avoid that fact, we might as well stop calling ourselves a top club as well. Every other club vying to win major trophies is paying their best players top dollar. A player of Tchouameni's experience and class deserves an appropriate wage. Which can then also be highly incentivized according to performance.

Just because Real Madrid may want rid doesn’t mean he’s going to be cheap. Remember the asinine price they put on Morata? He’d also have to take a pay cut to fit into our self imposed wage structure and I seriously doubt he would do that.

My concern with Tchouamemi is that with him, Mainoo and Ederson. None of them have the long range passing in their locker. M Fernandes does. I would have thought to have better balance in midfield overall for the squad, having two CMs out of the four who can switch the ball to other flank or hit a 60yd ball to feet.If Real buy Bouaddi, we should buy Tchouameni or Chema.

Never seen Chema play, but I'd rather go for someone with better passing ability.
His current wages aren't necessarily exorbidant yet either at £208k/w
