Nasty foul at the end, lucky it wasnt more than a yellow. Studs forwards challenge and didnt even get the ball, just the leg of the opponent. Hope he learns from it
Didn't he get the ball though and it was the follow through that caught him. Anyway Gusto went in two footed so would have been harsh

He shouldn't even have been booked. Gusto went in with two feet.

Actually like the bit of aggression he showed, too many of these Utd players are afraid to put the boot in at all.

I love de Ligt, but I am still hoping we get a physical monster with pace who can play the central role in between Yoro and Heaven, so we can properly push up. Of course, in front of a competent GK.

I'll have to see it again, if he did then I'll take it back. Still dangerous but more understandable if so.

Pretty sure he got the ball first but yes it was dangerous. I think he was trying to keep his feet low and scoop/side foot the ball with speed and power as you see often but overdid it. Fortunately, in a selfish way I'm glad he didn't because he could have been caught badly from Gusto. Unfortunate for Gusto but oh well..

Yeah looks like we have unearthed a gem here

He's the kind of signing we need to make all over the pitch, going forward. Talented players with right attributes and attitude. Just hope he isn't too injury prone going forward.

If he can stay fit then this is a steal of a signing

Looks good

Yoro MDL Heaven might soon be our first choice back 3

He needs a chant to the tune of Heaven Is a Place on Earth by Belinda Carlisle.

I think Martinez is back in there when fit for his ability on the ball and leadership, but I agree Heaven is one for the future for sure.

By the time he is back think 2026 it might be too late

Yeah hard to see him back before the new year, but players seem to be recovering quicker from ACL injuries in the modern day.

Martinez' ability on the ball is sorely lacking in Amorim's set up and I think we will see him in the team when (if) he manages to get and stay fit. He's a bit of a spiritual leader too.

He needs to work on staying fit, he has a massive opportunity on his hands

Him and Dorgus pace were a massive difference today. Of course Villa don’t naturally play with a right winger but there were still a few times they got back really well and recovered the ball. Him especially, handled Watkins superbly.

If we are committed to 3-4-3 his attributes fit that system as the LCB better than Martinez, covers the ground, good agility, recovery pace, holds his own in the air. He doesn't have Martinez's ability on the ball, but he is brave enough to take it and carry it forward. I think he, De Ligt and Yoro could be a decent trio next year with the need to be identifying an upgrade on De Ligt a 26/27 priority.

Looks outstanding. Physically he’s there already, and he’s very comfortable on the ball. Just about getting the experience and staying free of injuries for him now.

Imagine having centre backs who are tall, fast and strong.

It's almost as if deliberately targeting slow, short and weak centre backs isn't optimal.

I like this kid. Hard to believe he's only 18. He will make mistakes and he should be used sparingly over the next season or two, but he looks like he's got the raw tools to be a top defender. How did we get him from Arsenal, why did they let him go?

Like him but he came off injured again which is very concerning. We already have Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, Martinez, De Light, and now another potentially injury prone player?

He's got pace and he's got aggression, but I think he's yet to put on muscle. His getting stronger might also help him out in avoiding injuries, as in not having to go to ground as much. I really like him though. Gym in the summer.

Yep - the wide center backs must fit this mould. I like Heaven but yeah as this says:

It's a bit weird that he seems to get injured. Hope it's just a one-off because he's returning from injury and he's not actually injury prone.

Really like the kid. He could be immense for us if he stays healthy

I think Martinez is back in there when fit for his ability on the ball and leadership, but I agree Heaven is one for the future for sure.

Martinez has barring one or two games been a disaster this season and the last. Easily out witted when he's dragged into wider positions and is a liability on set pieces. He should be up for sale without any hesitation. His entire reputation is being heralded off of one good debut season. Sell him.

Heaven is better than Martinez defensively in the back three. He covers the left side of defence more confidently and is probably only behind Martinez in distributing the ball.

Assuming we don’t sign any CBs, which I doubt we will, our back 3 next season has to be Yoro - De Ligt - Heaven

Yeah with Maguire (central), maz (right) and Martinez, shaw (left) providing decent cover if they remain fit, only one game a week should help.
