Its only his 2nd start of the season I believe. Understandably,. he is going to be a bit rusty.

Interesting that Amorim trusts him more than Yoro at the moment.
Based on 45 mins. Let’s not make assumptions on ‘trust’.

He was unlucky to have received that yellow, otherwise I think he would have stayed on. Probably one of the few good decisions Amorim made yesterday in bringing him off, purely to reduce risk.

Think Amorim dropped in it yesterday. Playing him in the middle of the back three for the first time in his United career.

Here’s a thought Reuben, if you are a bit short of centre backs… maybe play four at the back?

The yellow card put him in a tricky spot. But I don’t like analysing players every 45-90 minutes.

Positive from last night was he got a run out.

Yea it was nice for him to get a start.

Was really stupid decision, as was bringing on a rusty Martinez when we need a goal and need to not concede again, taking off Shaw who's being reliable...

This... Playing the odd minute here and there, much like Mainoo, doesn't help his development. He didn't play many games last season, but enough to show that he could be a good player for us.

he was prob incredibly jacked up and desperate to make an impact considering how little he has played. Could imagine that caused his overly frenetic start.

I don't think he was a calamity, but his lack of experience hurt him. Was too eager to impress and that led to an early yellow.

Don't think he had a particularly bad game, just made it difficult for himself. Probably shouldn't have cleaned someone out around the halfway line 8 mins in.

He strikes me as a very proactive player, always trying to do "something" if he can, whether it's a pass or tackle, and affect the game somehow. I think it's a positive most of the time but I do think he'll have to learn to balance things a little bit, defensively at least, as sometimes his over eagerness can pull him out of position or lead to an unnecessary foul but hopefully that will come with experience. He's an interesting prospect and did well tonight.

I thought he was lucky on quite a few occasions and he wasn't really up against a side that carried an attacking threat. He's certainly thrown into the deep end being that CCB in this formation. At least he's getting games and hopefully his reading of the game develops fast.

He did well today. He is v v raw, and needs experience around him. But I was pleased for him. Shaw had better be helping him. Maguire, De Ligt... so there are plenty to give him some guidance.

I thought he was okay. Probably a bit rusty/nervy having not played much recently

Very good with the ball and more incisive with his passing than most. Good defending and a mature performance. Looks really quick when he has to, but normally he’s very calm.

I didn't think much of him tonight beyond the basic of having some aerial presence. I thought he looked a bit erratic

I think he's a real talent, had a couple of shaky moments but overall did well in a role with a lot of responsibility attached to it. Good passing off both feet too.

I like him a lot. Was gutted when he got injured last year but starting to see that same player again.

I thought he was good apart from risking a red card when the offside player was through on goal.

It helps when you don't get a stupid needless yellow card after 8 minutes.

Another decent display, needs game time to develop, definitely has some very good physical and technical qualities to a be very good player.

I like him, not sure if he will ever be good enough to become a first team regular. But if he can become a squad player he would have done well and anything more than that is a bonus.

That dive was diabolical .

Is it me or he seems have to filled out more and maybe even taller?

I think he is going to be a star. He has all the attributes and can arguably start consistently in half a dozen PL sides already at the age of 19.

He is good in the air, fast, can play and holds his own physically. I am not seeing a weakness here except experience and confidence.

He had a good game and being the central of the back 3 seemed to suit him as he took on the responsibility of winning plenty of the balls in the air, 4 aerials 100% success rate, 7 clearances

He probably wont get many games in the middle with De Ligt and Maguire wanting to play there but it might be where hes best suited

He's going to make it. Just iron out the blunders because he seems to have a blunder or two every game. It's usually a very risky pass or a risky carry and so far nothing bad has happened as a result but it has been close.

I think he'll be a good wide center back.

I don't think Maguire stays past this season, he'll want to keep playing and if we end up switching back to a back 4 he'll be exposed more and he won't get as much playing time.

I like Heaven in this CCB role he has the right attributes for it, hopefully he grows well into it

Had a good game, especially for such a young lad to hold that position, basically a main defender.

Has all the technical and physical attributes. He's looked very nervy the last 2 games but hes barely played so not surprising. Would probably benefit the most from going on out loan considering the amount of CBs we have.

He looked good and composed most of last year when he played before the injury

Wasn't surprised last game he looked rusty and was subbed off. More minutes will do him good and he needs to be playing for his own sake

You can see why he was touted as potentially playing in midfield as he loves passing forwards and through the lines. He's not quite put everything together yet, but the potential is there for him to succeed in that central role given his aggressiveness in jumping to press and willingness to pass forwards.

I think he's done fine in the past 2 games, considering his last start had been Grimsby. The pressure on him coming back in, and into the central role, must have been considerable. Hope Amorim doesn't just bench him again when injuries ease up.
