Much better than his previous game. But he needs to work on his tackling. If it was not offside it would again be a yellow or red. A simple fould would suffice. Also the dive was a bit too much.

Youve answered your own point there. He wouldn't have been sent off as the player was both offside (due to a good line Heaven played) and then dived under feck all contact

He looked a bit rusty against West Ham but he looked a lot better last night. For a 19 year old I don't think you could ask much more than what he did last night, the talent is clearly there and he just needs to piece it together.

Well he played him offside in the first place. COuld have been red, but he played him offside.

He's gt high potential and not afraid to play the game. Just still feel some nervousness about his game, that a brianfart is coming, however, it is expected since he doesnt play regularly and is just 19. Hopefully he gets more confidence with game time and shake it off a bit, but he's a good player in the making.

I like him, I root for him, but this I found quite funny

Starting to find that early form again which is nice to see. I really like both him and Yoro for the future and as options for the here and now. We've actually got some really strong CB options right now. Mazraoui I think is great in that RCB role. Don't rate him as a WB but last season I thought he was excellent as a CB, and now we're seeing him being used there again. He brings that ability to progress the ball well from the back, whilst still being tenacious and intelligent enough in his defensive duties.

Very early days in his career and he has a lot to learn , but I like him and think there is real potential there. Looks to have the raw materials to be a really good player for us.

He's incredibly young, barely played, and still looks decent. Lots to be excited about with him and Yoro I think.

Good move from the manager to start the boy after the last game. Showed confidence in the lad and he delivered imo. He'll grow from that. Played some nice passes out of defence through the lines. Big potential!

I didn't even think it was a foul to be fair to him - the Wolves striker went down like he'd been shot. Tackling is fine - decision making will always remain a doubt as it will with every young CB.

Really solid show from him - good performance

I thought he had a really good game tbh, he has the courage to pass through the press unlike most of our defenders.

That is a really good sign for someone so young that has not played much lately.

Interested to hear the Caf's suggestions for the 3rd defender, if we could sign another up and coming talent to go alongside Heaven and Yoro

Also, both seem to be pretty versatile, playing DCC or DCL

Peak Rio between the two of them would have been nice!

If we are to persist with the manager and his single idea, the centre back required needs to play between the two of them. He'll need to be a lot more physically imposing than either of them as they are both relative lightweights. I think De Ligt is actually that player though he's not that good a ball player and he lacks pace, but he's got the leadership skills, the aggression, snuffs out danger. We need an understudy to de Ligt (rather than holding on to Maguire for yet another season).

Yeah fair, I like De Ligt, but feel like he's better in DCR where he can be a bit more aggressive. At DCC I think he's too rash at times and, as you say, lacks pace to recover

I don't think we'd target another youngster there personally. You can't have a backline made up of youngsters, it's an area of the side that we could do with an experienced player to dictate and command the backline.

I wouldn't say there is a stand out option though

He's got a lot of potential and confidence, some of the ball faints and forward passes were class.

Next stage for him, aside from regular playing time, is physically to become a top level athlete.

He's got the basics with height and stature but still has that young lad, gangly way about him.

The fitness folks at united are meant to be rather good, and he still has a few years of growth in him. We prob won't see his final form for 3-4 years.

De Ligt slots in very nicely at the RCB. I actually think that would be the best position for each of then.

- Yoro just seems more comfortable playing out from the LCB position compared to RCB

- Heaven - He can pass, is good in the air and has speed on the recovery. De Ligt is a more conservative passer so we gain something by having Heaven there.

- De Ligt - Being at the RCB, gives him more freedom to jump into MF to press and tackle. He also defends very well in the channel.

For another defender option, Diomande is still around. He can play CCB or RCB in the Amorim system. Understand he has been playing CCB over the last 12 months or so.

Man Utd 4:4 Bournemouth New
He’s nowhere near ready to be starting.

Should be getting mins at LCB or LB.

He got swallowed up by the pace of the game. Wrong positioning, not knowing when to step up or just putting teammates under pressure. Him and Yoro together at the back make me extremely nervous. Too green to be starting CBs.

Should not be a regular starter for us - at least not for the foreseeable future.

This is just the things you're going to have to accept from any young player. Some good, some not so good.

Heaven is a promising young CB, but he needs more training with the youth team before starting for us again.

He and Yoro are dreadful. Can't believe I'm saying this but I really miss Maguire!

It needs to be a leader in this central defender position who just goes all in when in doubt.

We definitely shouldn’t be pairing him up with Yoro. Both are too inexperienced and I don’t think they are in good form either.

Honestly, I don't want to be too harsh, but that was a very worrying performance for me. Just a complete lack of the absolute basics of defending at times. I realise he's very young so you'll get that etc... But I'm not sure you'd get that level of basic fundamental mistakes?

He’s not a regular starter!

We have three players unavailable (MDL, Maguire and Maz), and another CB who his just coming off of a massive injury.

Squad players still play games!

I think he’ll deservedly get pelters for tonight but I think he’s quite good. The central CB is such a hard position especially for someone so young who hasn’t played in that system growing through the youth ranks but I like what promise he does show

Think he's better than Yoro to be honest, still learning and massive potential. We need De Ligt or Maguire back to help him out.
