Interesting. I'm beginning to think we'll have Flick for the remainder of the season.

That would surprise me a bit. He has basically no experience or credentials as head coach and he was part of the failed Kovac team. Even if he ends up surviving the international break it's going to take about two bad games in a row before the media will label him a failed experiment and call for an experienced coach to steady the ship (Mourinho maybe?).

Of course they don't bring in the specialist in failure, serious questions need to be asked after the Arsenal job. Hopefully we take note.

I am pretty sure we won't sign Mourinho.

But i am surprised that we don't give it a try with Wenger. Especially because we have so many frenchies.

I'd say they bring back Van Gaal. The mad man behavior was perfect for the Germans until he got a bit too mad.
Hoeneß would rather eat his own foot than re-appoint van Gaal.

Wenger's football did appear as quite outdated by the time he left Arse. I would have accepted him as caretaker, but no more than that. We don't know if that was even on the table, or if Wenger wanted a long term engagement to begin with.

Get the feeling Bayern turned him down due to his lack of success in CL. Not just losing the KOs but getting completely trashed in his last few seasons there (usually to Bayern Munich).

Think it would've made sense as a stop gap. Tuchel surely going to be new manager next summer given they approached and PSG will probably let him go as they give managers two seasons to do something in CL and then release them.

That doesn't make too much sense; they wouldn't have talked to him in the first place if that were the reason. It's more likely related to either salary, freedom of action, length of tenure, or all of the aforementioned.

Yeah those could be reasons aswell. I just want to imagine though in their cosy chat KHR or Hoeness asking him what he'll do to improve his poor general record in CL and Wenger as stubborn as usual just replying: "Well errr I'll just play same as usual and buy Xhaka in January."

End of conversation.

Apparently Bayern told Bild that Wenger himself rang Rummenigge and offered his services, but Bayern turned him down. Seems a bit cnutish to put it that way.

Yet another transfer Wenger missed out on. I’m surprised they even considered him.

At Arsenal, how did he deal with low defensive blocks and the rising importance of pressing? Because I think that would be key to be successful with Bayern in the BL.
He didnt.

Bayern leaking they rejected him is pretty needless in fairness. Not sure what purpose it serves.

Also not sure the fans would be happy appointing Wenger considering they used to hammer his sides year after year in the Champions League.

Yeah, makes it look like Wenger tried to stay upbeat even as he said bye bye, replaced the receiver in his office phone, put his head in his hands and banged the desk with his fists, "What have I done? What have I done?"

Its a damn shame. Would have been great to see Arsene with that quality of players.

I don't want either Wenger or Mourinho. I will rather have Flick till season end as long as he makes top 4

Another undignified action from Bayern:
Wenger today made a statement that Bayern asked him, and not the other way around.
You can only shake your head if you look at the state of this club. Why speaking to the public about your intern process in the first place? Why making a weird statement about coaches and the future (Brazzo), and one day later talking about Wenger (Rumennige)? Why it is necessary to make statements that "We are the mighty Bayern and Wenger asked us!" when the other way around is true?

I realy hope that all the chaos and amateurish work they do in the last month got an impact for them in the longterm. Brazzo for DOF with a 10 year contract please (CHO and Sane likes that)! Hoeness, please don't go, your club needs you!

As good as the undoubtly are, i do feel their very high line could be suicidal against certain teams, PSG comes to mind.

Unprecedented. My god. They had what 9 different players being involved in either an assist or goal. Never seen that before at this level.

IMO their X-factor is Davies. His recovery pace is a huge asset.

Impressive but Barca were abject, a team like Lyon would've put up more of a fight. Skill alone doesn't win you games, you need to put in the hard graft.

That said I hope they win the CL, rather them then City or PSG.

Why do people assume they are going to play with it against all teams? They obviously saw this as a way to hurt Barca and it very much paid off. I doubt they'll do the same against City.

He doesn't even needs to be good at defending is the thing. His pace alone compensates every mistake he makes, insane.

Yeah, unlikely they'll just accept to leave the space they left behind the wingbacks in this game. Probably the CMs will be asked to cover them, won't bomb forward as much and the wingbacks will have to switch and cover centrally when out of position to make up for it

They'll still try to press the feck out of city though

It doesn't but the trade off from what he gives them in attack is more than worth it

Just like Marcelo at his best

I actually meant that still has mistakes in his games ,but he gets so many balls back because of his pace . Like his mistakes don't matter as he always can compensate them immediately with his pace.

I do think Marcelo still has the better technique , but Davies more pace. Getting there where Marcelo is/ was shouuld be the goal.

I get it it was a generalization but still a wrong one. He makes mistakes because he's still not a defender, doesn't quite know how to play as one yet. He makes a lot of mistakes tactically and his pace only works when it can, which often enough cannot

It just doesn't matter because he's a force going forward and bayern are so good they can get away with it anyways

Their starting 11 cost around 60-70 million in total, that's a great piece of business.

Such a turn around since Flick became head coach, they look just unstoppable with their relentless press and looks like very good oiled machine.
