Thank your lucky stars you're not in the US, watching on Fox could make you suicidal with the drivel they come up with!

Why do They have an ex player representing Argentina on the panel but nobody representing France when there are so many guests to choose from but are happy to have a bore like shearer on there with fellow Englishmen rio and gary.

Went for ITV based on the pundits
Zabaleta is hardly must watch TV too
I've gone for Itv as well. Matterface is awful but BBC's coverage has far more wrong with it. Ferdinand's gushing over Messi will be nauseating as well.

It's not like they just drafted Zabaleta in for this game. He's been doing punditry for them all tournament including games that don't even involve Argentina.

The only French person they have in their lineup is Laura Georges who may not even be available anyway due to her role within the French organisation.

They only showed Zabaleta when Argentina were winning which means he was obviously crying to himself at every other time. Pathetic.

Rather telling how they did not have a single Muslim/Asian male presenter/pundit/co-host on any their shows.

Largest ethnic group in the UK, but you would have never realised that if you saw any of their coverage.

Not much, less than ever, but it's always the same when these modern finals go to extra time and penalties. There's a lot of milling around after the final whistle with players celebrating for ages without the trophy, then the individual awards, so by the time they get to the actual trophy, not much is shown. But this year was a lot less - you hardly saw many actual players lifting it. When one player (Dybala or De Paul think) was about to lift the trophy they showed a replay of Messi lifting it instead, and not long later the show was over.

Which Muslim/Asian pundit would you have recommended?

Sky must be delighted it's all over. Now they can hype City and Liverpool's third string teams playing each other this week.

Ah right, that's the total opposite of the ITV coverage then.

Very underwhelming coverage of the tournament from the BBC. At the start it felt like the editorial stance was to make this world cup seem like a non-event but the tone of the coverage tried to shift as it become more apparent that it was going to be a very memorable world cup.

The half-hearted attempt made at the opening match to absolve themselves of any hypocrisy over being in Qatar for the entire tournament felt insincere when the BBC have covered tournaments from the UK in the past and could have done so for this edition too. The political and social commentary had such little depth that they would been better off not even attempting it at all. Gulf money is a massive influence in European football and the implications of that are hardly mentioned when Man City or Newcastle are covered on BBC Sport, to mention them now at this tournament gives the uncomfortable impression that we are fine with Gulf money in football just as long as the football is not actually played there. The distaste to the locality of this tournament really did lead to some strange oversights in the coverage, there was a lot of broadcasting minutes spent on what Morocco being in the semi-final means for Africa, keeping alive the outdated idea an entire continent should be considered as one country, rather than on the impact of an Arabic-speaking country being in the semi-finals of an Arab World Cup.

The quality of pundits remarkably continues to get worse and we weren't exactly starting off from a place of exceptional quality. Pundits are there to either offer insight into a game that a viewer wouldn't have recognised or to entertain the audience. Too many pundits at the BBC have never played at the highest level, been retired for too long to understand modern football or their personality is too beige which means all they can offer is cliches and platitudes. Commentators like Lee Dixon or Jermaine Jenas are complete energy vacuums that make watching a match feel like a chore, which is why right-minded people wanted people like Ally McCoist to be involved in more matches during this tournament because they actually sound excited to be there.

We'd rather be remembered and referred to as an African country rather than clinged onto as an Arab one. So I think they did just fine there.

Was with you until you mentioned McCoist, nah he just likes the sound of his own voice a bit too much and can be quite irritating on TalkSPORT. Actually reminds me of someone who repeats a joke just incase you didn’t find it amusing the first time round.

Wow, someone criticising these footy programs for not being diverse enough!
Look at the make up of panels now versus even 10 years ago.
