We were shit for most of the game, but your guys could learn a thing or two from that Tielemans penalty.
This penalty shootout must've been the hardest one to lose ever. Morocco outright missed two penalties and shot a 3rd right at Verbruggen who somehow turns it into an own goal.
We will never win a shootout again.
I usually love a good comeback story but watching Belgium rob that game just did not sit well with me whatsoever.
Belgium were a hard watch - awful. Senegal had that game done and dusted - they must be absolutely devastated they let that game go the way it did.

This is an amazing comeback story don’t know what you’re talking about. Senegal weren’t “robbed “of anything . The subs made their impact, balsy move by Garcia but it paid off. Senegal struggled to contain lukaku & moreira once they got going and didn’t look back . Belgium were the better team overall in extra time ; so well done to them. Don’t get this random hate with Belgium. They’re doing pretty good for a nation with 11 m people and have provided some top talents over the last decade. 3 of the top premier league players in the last 15 years are Belgian, kompany KDB & Hazard. Hazard was a joy to watch in 2018 and completely dismantled a strong Brazil team.

This isn't 2018. Belgium field players from the Belgian League like Mechele and Vanaken. Plus other average players like Castagne, De Ketelaere, Theate, etc. but keep getting judged like they're Germany.

Thought he was pretty good in the 2021 euros but hasn't played much sense at least competitively.
Shocking in 2022 but so we're the entire team, missed a lot of games. ok for what was a poor team overall in 24.
And he had 7 goals and assists in 6 appearances in 2025 (albeit against poor teams in qualifying).

I get what you're saying. So many people seem to ridicule us if we don't reach the level of the big nations just because we've had a strong generation (that is partially already retired). We're a tiny nation ffs, it was easier when people expected nothing from us. This sentiment seems especially strong in England, where this "golden generation" noise was always at its loudest.
Most of the players played in England of course. De Bruyne, Hazard, Kompany, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dembélé, Chadli, Courtois... And I'm forgetting some.
All the golden generation stuff was pushed a lot more abroad than in Belgium, that much is true.

The ref is Adham Makhadmeh of Jordan, he's an experienced FIFA ref and I can't see any reason he would just be biased for the US without any further evidence of payoffs or something.
If there is any kind of cosmic justice, Balogun will miss the deciding penalty in a shootout.
Hmm not sure, he looked genuinely distraught after the incident, I thought it was a harsh decision and it’s not like he’s had any say in overturning it. I’d much rather we win due to an incorrect VAR call deep into extra time or something irreversible that would piss Trump and the entire USA off.
All that said, I hope we give Balogun a Paraguayan treament tomorrow.
