Still haven’t changed my assessment since he was in Germany. He isn’t going to be world-class, and I think he will fall short when we start playing knockout Champions League games again, but he certainly has what it takes to be a reliable Premier League-level player. You need a durable striker to get goals against obdurate teams like Everton, Fulham, or West Ham, and I think he can be that guy for the next couple of seasons.
His overall game still needs developing, so he’s not a guaranteed starter yet. I think he’s earned a start next match, personally (we should be rewarding good performances), but I think he’ll be in and out of the starting line-up all season.
