Benjamin is already be at the 20+ goal form we want to see from him, but since we only have 10 games he's not going hit 20. To have any prayer of Sesko adding even just another 7 goals on top of his current 7 goals we'll need to see better performances from Mbemo, who's been off it for a bit now, and our fullbacks. But right now he's scoring for fun, despite still developing and adapting to intensity of the PL defending. Incredible.

And just yesterday it was argued here by a few that Sesko isn’t good enough to start for United.
I find it's best after a win not to use that time to try and start a "look at how wrong people were" argument. Especially when I have posts like this in the same thread from a couple of weeks ago.

Should have scored but it wasn’t exactly a sitter. Right now coming off the bench is exactly the right call.

I feel like he's still going under the radar a bit outside of United fans (who wrote him off laughably early).

Today's goal was impressive. Not many strikers are winning that header, let alone getting it on target, getting power behind, and getting it in the corner.

He's going to be a monster for us. This profile of striker generally peak a bit later than the smaller guys.

I keep seeing comments everywhere saying "Sesko airlines", "Air Sesko".

Is this literally because he's good in the air? Or is there some airline that rhymes with Sesko?

So much to like about his game. Even when some of his efforts are tame enough, he looks sharp in getting the chances.

Great to see us utilise his height today. He is a very easy player to like. My favourite number 9 since Zlatan (Cavani pissed me off in his second season).

So happy for him. There's a player in there. We just need to play to his strengths. I don't think he will be top notch for us or a game changer like van persie but if we are to be successful going forwards he will contribute in some capacity im sure.

Results in some of the games without his goals:

Burnley 2-0 United
United 0-2 Brighton (cup)
United 2-2 Fulham
West Ham 1-0 United
Everton 0-0 United
United 1-1 Palace

I know it's not ideal to look at it this way but that would mean he's won us 8 points with his goals. Obviously the one vs Brighton was consolation goal. So not only scoring, but scoring goals that either mean we avoid a defeat or get the win instead of a draw.

Is Shearer on MOTD on Sundays?

He will absolutely wank himself silly about that goal

He'd be right too, brilliant header, proper fecking 90s goal. Delighted for him, he's waited his chance to play and he's taking it. Deserves his goals.

Nod to “Air Jordan”. He jumps really high and it’s also what people refer to his celebration as. There’s also a bunch of clips of him dunking on YouTube.

Not comparing the two but I’ve literally seen twenty games where Haaland has been anonymous or had sub 10 touches and one of thems been a goal. If the goals are coming we have breathing room to figure the rest out.

And not just in the striking department. He was good with aerial duels that, had our players anticipated him winning, could have led to decent opportunities and there were nice moments of interplay.

We just need to create more chances because (and I haven't checked the stats) we can't expect him to continue to be prolific with few chances.

Took us a long time to realise how to utilise him. Still think we should be looking to target him in the box much more than we are. Noticeable that right footed Bruno has assisted him from the right hand side two or three times now and Dorgu once from the left. All our wide forwards for a long time have been inverted so crossing becomes less effective. Dorgu coming back would help him. Dalot offers nothing from a crossing point of view

Clearly a player that needs good service. He’s showing us what he can do when he gets it. He can be a bit anonymous when we’re playing terribly, narrow and lethargic. But get him decent service and boom.

He moves well inside the box, he's strong in the air and he's more than quick enough to be deadly on the counter. This is will make him a dangerous striker, even with poor overall technique (not saying that this is the case).

I wish fans on the matchday thread were more patient with him during the game. The nature of playing centre forward is that you're not going to be prominent for every minute of every game, there will be spells where the CF will be "anonymous" especially if the team is not playing well as a whole.

But his movement is top quality, he will get on the end of chances, and he's an athletic machine. His hold up play and technique is a bit hit and miss, probably the weakest part of his game. But it's OK for what we need now.

I'd start him in every game for the remainder of the season and I wouldn't take him off unless we were 2 or 3 up coming up to the end of the game. If we desperately need a goal, he needs to be on the pitch, it's that simple.

My current favorite player. He’s got a lot of skills in his locker, just putting them together
He’s gotten more confident and hence clinical, which is great for us and him, but I can’t quite see these ‘skills’ many posters seem to be glazing him for. If anything he was quite poor with his technique before the goal.

Probably more in reference to his physical qualities, speed, aerial ability and strength.

Almost single handedly won us 10 points from 12 after being written off after 15 odd games as a 22 year old in a new league. Football, bloody hell

Heading, Finishing, off the ball movement. Earlier in the season he had good linkup play as well

Yeah, I have seen him try fancy tricks that more often than not don’t come off. Maybe when he’s a bit refined those will be genuine weapons if it isn’t coached out of him.

Right now, and maybe for the future it looks like we are wanting to use him for his box presence and not as a target player, which may blunt his ball technique a little bit, but I guess we’ll see.

He’s not what I would call a skillful striker though.

He’s scored 6 premier league goals in his last 258 minutes of PL football. That’s prolific! That’s better than 2 goals per 90!

I always had the most confidence in him out of all our summer signings. Our head of recruitment has signed him 3x now - he had to be the real deal for Vivell to have been that sold on him

Happy he’s back starting, should have been starting weeks ago. Great signing, so glad we got him over Gyokeres
