Love him. He'll be inconsistent with his final product as he's young but he gets in so many good positions and gets so many different types of goals, and that's the real sign of a quality striker. We play so much better with him on the pitch.

Lovely goal but cheated Bruno out of another assist not to long after with a weird pass/shot to Amad. Maybe he was just caught in two minds what to do? Overall hopefully he gets a run out as the starting 9 now because Mbeumo isn't offering much.

Great goal but need to improve on his decision making. He should have gone for goal from Bruno pass as he has more than enough pace to go clear for a shot. In the other counter attack situation, he should have released a simple forward ball for Amad who will be clear through instead of trying to pass back to Bruno who is still struggling on ground.

Another great goal. He has the desire and hunger of top strikers.

I’m quite sure that if he hadn’t scored his first goal, he would have tried to shoot on his second occasion instead of trying to pass it to Amad.

Can we actually just stop dropping our most in form guy for no reason.

He's already very good - chaos machine who almost guarantees one or two big chances every game. But I feel like he's the type of striker who's going to really explode in his mid to late 20s and that's exciting

I'm looking forward to him scoring a real banger too. We know he has a cannon but we've been robbed of seeing it this year. Both Mbeumo and Lammens did interviews this week and both said they've never seen a player hit a ball harder in training.

I don't know why he stopped in that failed pass chance. He had time to go closer to the goal and then decide what to do.

Nevertheless, i am delighted that we finally have proper striker

A lot of time, it might be just getting the opponent tired with back and forth control and counter control. Then releasing him, get them punished. He is such an athletic player!

Decent performance. Should’ve passed to Amad but given his limited minutes today he probably felt the need to make a statement.

Lucky deflection but it's just the way it is atm, things going for him while they maybe did not earlier in the season. Shame about that chance after the goal.

He'll be 23 in few months so will develop more until he's 25/26 so can't complain about his impact so far.

Repeating myself but again another first time finish! Reminds me of a bit of that season Jelavic had with Everton.

It's probably hard with the limited minutes but it's a fine balancing act coming on, needing to play with directness and then also contributing in general play where it requires more nuance. That second chance and as with previous games proves his raw eagerness. So far though his development has been really positive under Carrick where it's clear the communication and trust has been good.

He's got it. Never felt this way about Hojlund.

So many things to work on in his game and so much potential but even in his current form, he will score goals.

Yup exactly this.

Yeah you can see he’s a natural goal scorer and will post decent numbers without improving his game. If he does he could become a beast for us.

If he becomes more assertive with confidence over the next couple of years then he could be an absolute monster if a player.

You can tell why so many top clubs looked at him for so long

Sesko did alright off the bench, though he should've done better when Bruno sent him through on the break. Good to keep the momentum building with a goal, he was probably frustrated not to be on the pitch in the first half when we were putting all those crosses into the box.

Re the 'should have passed to Amad' thing, I think he was caught in two minds and ended up not making a decision, or making one and then instantly second guessing it.

He had so much space. Another touch and stick it in the corner.

He appears to be one of those players who is better when he lets instinct kick in.

That miss after his goal and there was another similar miss against another team should have him in double figures. He does seem to be a bit immature in his play and maybe mentality. Needs some coaching but the talent is there.
Wasn't the miss just a poor pass to an open Amad?

Šešgoal!

I feel a bit robbed when he's not playing, simply because I want to see him add to his tally (and help us win games).

100% far superior to Hojlund in every way. The anticipation and desire for today's goal to jump between the 2 defenders and position himself to get on the end of the ball after the deflections is something Hojlund never shows. He manages to get shots off every game and quite often hits the target, Hojlund was rarely capable of getting shots off at all,

Yep. Felt like Sesko tried to do a Bruno and do a hollywood pass to Amad but it failed spectacularly. Could have taken a few more strides and then try to slot it in, or still have time to square it to Amad.

Very exciting to see his development though, he's still young and can still improve a lot, very high ceiling.

I thought so too. He seemed to be caught in two minds and decided on the right option (imo, at the time) but executed it very poorly. It can happen and maybe he just starts leathering these with a little more confidence.

People should be ecstatic for what he’ll be next season. It’s getting him a quality backup that’s the only thing to worry about.

Joint top scorer with Mbeumo in 812 mins less (around 9x 90 minute games...)

Clearly our best signing last summer. Granted he was also the most expensive

lucky with the goal, fecked the pass to Amad.

I don’t get why he’s not starting. He’s a constant threat, looking for runs in behind and I fancy his chances ina foot race against almost anyone really. I love him and I much prefer having an aerial threat in the box.

Yes, the deflection played a part in the goal but did you see that jump over the defenders leg to get to that ball?! That kind of desire is going to get him a lot of 'deflected' goals.
Messed up that pass to Amad but he might as well take the shot himself next time..

Great for the goal, but he was rubbish for that missed chance from Bruno’s pass. Firstly, he barely broke into a sprint. He looked far too concerned with timing it for Amad. If he had busted his gut, he would have been clean through on goal with a more favourable angle. Overthinking never works in football. He’s a striker through on goal - don’t hesitate!
