Love both the players... Hate the advice

Just use your left foot

This is why great players don't make great coaches isn't it. I have no doubt Bruno would execute it perfectly so assumes Sesko would too.

Be like being coached by Messi. "Dude just dribble past the whole team and score. It's that simple".

I think it clearly was a pass because he had no reason to shoot from there. He can take another touch to get into the box before finishing. But his teammate is free at the backpost now

I think its a concentration thing, like many players sometimes he loses it and it results in some poor technique at times. Should hopefully be ironed out as he matures

Looked more like a shot to the far corner to me, he looked at Amad yes but ignored him, changed his body angle and went to place it in the far corner which didn’t come off obviously.

Exactly. This is what it looks like to me. He opens his body and hits it with the inside of his foot to curl it to the far corner - which is the same finish Cunha used - if it was intended as a pass the ball would curl away from Amad and not to him

Definitely an attempted pass but he tried to play it in a really awkward way whilst running full pelt and got it completely wrong.

The most blatant pass mate come on. If Sesko was shooting especially from that distance we’d know about it - absolute rockets

Think Carrick is handling him very well to be honest. The boost he gives the team coming on is one thing, but he’s clearly a confidence player, so feeling the pressure only in the right moment in the right is doing wonders for him. When he’s fully, fully settled he’ll he starting every game

People get hung up on the most inane things with Sesko... he scored again, he's scored some really important goals for us recently, but let's focus on a mis-hit pass to a teammate whilst 3-1 up because it fits a narrative

It was clearly a pass, and it was on, but he overhit it. Bruno now more about football than I, but he should passed it with the left foot and the right foot. When that situation arises again, and it will, he’ll make the pass with his left foot. Hitting it with the outside of his right foot would be spectacular, but it’s a harder skill to master.

Nine PL Goals, Ten in all competitions, if he scores 12 or 13 this season that’s a great start, he will get better and better.

When baby Zlatan is 25, I think we’ll have the best all round striker in the EPL. He’s scoring goals but more importantly looks a genuine threat when on the pitch, pace, power and technically very good plus he’s fantastic in the air. We now need to think about what we need in attack to have a great all around attack and options, personally I still think we need another 28-30 year old CF and then start to give Chido more chances next season too.

His number of goals per minute in the PL is pretty good tbf, and a few really good ones in there too. He was actually amusingly poor when he came on yesterday mind you!

Over the last 8-10 years, really since the likes of Young, Rooney and Nani, we've not properly serviced a striker. We've had many big, young, upcoming stars that frankly even went on to be decent elsewhere but they couldn't "handle the pressure" of the big stage with us. BUT I'd submit that we never set up the team to service a striker properly, with LVG, Amorim, the other scheme guys that always seemed to have the "cut in" wingers including Rashford and Martial on the Left. I know this is debatable but think back on our last 5 or 6 Right wingers and our last 5 or 6 left wingers. They're mostly cut in guys or combo guys.

Since seeing flashes of Sesko and what he can do in the air etc... i think there should be significant spells where we invert our wingers and let Sesko and Bruno (in behind) be the TARGETS. Set up the attack so that the man at the tip of the attack has our chances. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Mbuemo! But recognize an inverted wing can be an even sharper option.

He should have just smashed it. Pass was not the percentage play.

And yet still scored!

He's sneakily becoming a bagsman. I love it. That goal yesterday was the type that great strikers score, pure reaction and getting a snap shot off quickly from a ball bundling around in the box.

The instincts are so clearly there for him to be special, really it's the stuff where he has a bunch of time to think that he tends to fluff. Which is encouraging, because that'll naturally iron out as he matures but you can't develop strikers instincts if you don't already have them.

Agreed. The melts were in force yesterday whining about Sesko not starting, but his impact as a sub has been outstanding. When he’s ready to accept the pressure of being the regular starter at striker Carrick will know and make the adjustment. And it may come soon if we dispatch the next two opponents and solidify CL qualification.

Loved his goal yesterday, he sniffed out the chance was coming and basically jumped over/inbetween two Villa players to get to the ball. Loved it.

On the flip side surely he had to be trying to feed in Amad. Only thing that makes sense as surely he would just go across the defender opening up the angle and his body for an easy slot in the bottom corner. Why he decided to pass instead of going himself I don’t know but then also surely the technique to find Amad was outside of the foot so it’s bending towards him.

Because the fact he didn’t do that then makes me think it was a shot.

Nah, not blatant at all. His whole body position was for a shot into the far corner, tried to just roll it in and spooned it.

Bruno expressed frustration that Sesko did not take the shot -- after all, it was on -- and there's no reason to believe that Bruno was wrong in his assessment.

Thing is I even see Bruno and players of that quality get the outside of the foot passes wrong way more often than if they used the foot it was suited for. Thats why I think its bad advice. Yes they also have a few examples where they got it right and some might say it looks cool. What matters is what works and using the right foot for the circumstance is what works most of the time, unless your weaker foot is awful and you cant kick straight with it... In which case as a professional footballer I'd be embarrassed about that.

I like Sesko, I don't know what it is but I was excited when he scored. Love that he's always paying heed to advice.
Seems like a good lad.

He’s got the fourth best record in terms of goals per minute - I think Haaland, Kroupi and then maybe Palmer (although it could be Thiago) are ahead

Oh redcafe experts think Bruno's advice is wrong..
Mind you not all players have that outside pass in them like Bruno and Modrić, most dont but that doesnt mean its a bad advice and Šeško shouldnt try it.

Bournemouth 2:2 Man Utd New
Usually when you're leaving a player on the bench that feels slightly harsh to bench, you make up for it by subbing him on early 2nd half.

Another game we waited 71 minutes to get him on. What is Carrick's issue with him?

What i don't get is it's not like the players who are starting are crushing it to the point where you just gotta say sorry sesko everyone else is on fire too. Mbuemo has been bad for a while and amad is just kinda improving from a similar bad stretch as well.

It is really bizarre.

I don't think we actually have a solution to scoring from open play that doesn't involve Sesko being on the end of crosses.

We're relying heavily on winning penalties and set piece goals to make up for the lack of open play goals.

Every cross put into the box in open play without Sesko on the field is proving to be pointless.

Carrick looks absolutely lost when it comes to subbing and delayed on wanting to switch from the original game plan. That’s worrying

With Maguire out vs Leeds, he should start - not only because Mbeumo (and Amad) both look more out of form than him, but also for the added aerial presence he'd give.
